I wonder if that list that Donna has of the things that haven't done, is now how they feel in the Obama Whitehouse....Josh is so often massed up.. . the incident with Mary Marsh, screwing up the drug addiction enquiry, the secret plan to fight inflation,
that music at the end is bullshit. the last moments of the episodes are often crucial, dramatic, important. there is a serious conclusive tone to them. sometimes they are very emotional and profound, and just when the screen goes black and u get a chance to close ur eyes and take a breath: DINDIRIEIIDINDINDIDIDIRIDNIRIDEIDRIDI and loud too!
i always hated how leo and the president left josh out to dry after he messed up. everyone on the show had messed up from time to time and leo had even backed josh's call to play it tough. i lost a lot of respect for leo during this. i loved how they looked out for each other in the earlier seasons and that seemed to disappear in the later seasons.
The first clip of CJ walking is obviously from an earlier season -- her hair is totally different. I guess they couldn't get a new shot on the plane, for whatever practical reason, but did they really need that shot, anyway? It just looks sloppy.
I didn't watch WW Season 5 (resumed midway around Season 6 and watched half-heartedly to the end... it just never really reached the heights of 1-4) but Donna's 'what a shame' folder was golden.
Can someone tell me what happened that Josh found himself sidelined with calls of condolence?
He provoked a right-wing democrat to change party to the republicans. Although, the congressman had been leaning towards the republicans for a long time.
Most Congressional Democrats were calling for Josh's head. His responsibilities were stripped. If you want to see how he got back into Bartlet's good graces, check out the clip called "Best Political Stunt".
@thatdrattedcat You should watch 5-7 properly. What the WW lost in the details and small moments of inside humour, it more than made up for in 6/7 in particular with an inspired choice of Republican opponent. Vinick made the last season and a half of the WW. And casting Alan Alda was genius too.
@MJD1701A Yeap what do you do when kids of Sasha and Melia's age get death threats? And what do you do when natural disasters threaten and already bad world economic situation?
He means that he had an idea of what WAS important and valuable to him. He THOUGHT he had an idea of what he cherished and how deeply. After the incident, we soon learned what really mattered to him and his values. It even amazed him. So, he THOUGHT that he knew himself...but after a crisis, a totally different Jed Barlett emerged. I hope this explanation helped clarify his quote.
CJ was scared, but Jed was right to, and the only person who would understand that was gone from him, not forever but for a little while. RIP West Wing. We wing nuts miss it
Dead wrong. The key people around the POTUS cannot afford to be butt-kissers too often. He (the President) relies on extreme candor with those who are closest to him. That is why they NEVER comment about their opinions to the press...until they resign from their post.
Those who are surrounded by brownnosers --'butt-kissers'-- are those who have the most passionate supporters but flop when faced with the electorate at large.
Recall every Presidential candidate overwhelmingly supported by his team or Party but was a disaster on Election Day, and most one-term Presidents.
@aukapokatiky Yes she did, after the MS scandal got out, she had been benched for mispeaking.., Jed had gone in is shell and was being rude to his staff. It was CJ that eventually told him off and brought him round.
You might want to consider collecting about 3 or 4 DVD cases of the West Wing, taping them together in the shape of a RATHER LARGE NIGGER COCK. Drop your pants and then slide your asshole right onto the aforementioned NIGGER COCK - DVD collection. Just food for thought.
CJ was the one that didn't expect to be COS.. everyone else was on a ego trip...She could tell him off without making him angry, the way Toby did.

It's Youtube clips like this one that are responsible for my downloading dozens of episodes from iTunes...

Hope that was a good answer! :)

Martin Sheen was born to play this part.
Amazing performances throughout the series.

Reply to aukapokatiky-I disagree. CJ was Chief of Staff and Leo McGary would have done and said the same if he thought he was right.

When Bartlet says "It's like I knew who I was then I woke up one morning and didn't have a clue", what is he referring to? What's that part about?

When his daughter Zoey was kidnapped

He is referring to when Zoey was kidnapped and he felt like his world had radically changed. It is very moving.

This episode was the last straw. The show went to the dogs when a drunk Josh shouts at the Capitol Building, "Hey, you want a piece of me!! Come On!"
Afterwards, I just followed the series occasionally.

what episode was the drunk josh from lol
