I'm lovin this video.. May I just say that God never told David to dance! He did it out of his own free will to praise his God for what he has acomplished. God is not gonna pick you up out of your pew and beg you to praise him. The bible says to rejoice in the Lord always, and AGAIN I say rejoice! Get happy people!!!!!! :)
Amen manic4life! In my church our standards are old world Pentecostal no slits in skirts, long uncut hair, modesty, holiness. God loves "praising" and what Lauren does is dance and sing for God's pleasure. In my mind God is "snapping His fingers and clapping his hands, and stomping his feet with joy untold." Thank You Lauren for all your beautiful music I will remain a fan. Respectfully, Laura
Yes, there is a difference in dancing in the Spirit and this, but his is meant to glorify God all the same. I have been in a congregation that was so afraid of dancing in the flesh that the Spirit was stifled which is also a sin. Have fun praising God. There is a time for serious dancing in the spirit and having fun to get a message across. Smile, God wants us to be happy.
I have met them all! They are just showing everyone that Christians don't have to be boring!!! These people are awesome and I appreciate all of their music and their character coming out from their personality! It helps relate to us on a regular daily activity. Thank you LORD Jesus CHRIST for all you have done to bring this music to us!
What in the name of anything is wrong with what these people are wearing, the song, or them dancing? If you think something is wrong with any of this you need to re-evaluate yourselves and your faith. Perhaps christianity isn't for you.
this video only show you one thing and that is chriatians can have a good time just like sinner do . pepole think just because we are christian we cant have a good time and them pepole are so wrong god did not save us to set around and be sad no he saved us to give us life and that we may enjoy it.. folks need to get use to the sining and shouting and danceing down here cause all it is doing is getting us ready for heaven cause that all its going to be in heaven is one big party so to say
I am by no means a Bible scholar, but I think God will tell each one of us what he wants us to do. Some may want to sit lifeless in the pews and inspect everyone else for faults, (I'm sure they can find several in me). In our service, some sit, some stand, some raise their hands, some shout, some dance-let The Lord lead the way!
This kind of dancing is like showing your joy that He has filled ya with when ya ask Him for forgiveness......Me,Im saved and it feels like a lil man jumping up and down inside of me filled with joy.....its very hard to explain how ya feel.....its awesome tho!!!!
what is wrong with praising god in dance? the bible says david danced before the lord with all his might. it doesnt say anything about him being in the spirit. he was so ovrjoyed about the ark of the covenant coming to jerusalem that he danced before god and was rebuked by his own wife. the spirit of religion says dancing before god, having the baptism of the holy ghost is wrong,a woman cutting her hair is wrong. WE ARE NOW FREE FROM CONDEMNATION IN CHRIST JESUS WORK OUT YOUR OWN SOUL SALVATION
I usually do not post on these sites. However this is in response to the postings that these singers are not spiritual. I happen to know Lauren Talley and her parents and I can assure you that they are the real thing. Read Matthew 7:3-4: For with what judgement you judge, you will be judged and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?
I grew up with this notion that a person had to be "in the spirit" and not "in the flesh" to show outward emotions such as dancing to the Lord. I finally realized that we are all "in the flesh" and will not be "in the spirit", until we leave this life. If a person dances because of the Spirit being on him, that is a reaction, not worship. If he dances as a sacrifice of praise and worship to God, then the spirit will come upon him and bless him, but he began his worship "in the flesh".
I believe the point of this song is to illustrate that christians don't have to be passive pew warmers. Also, each persons spirit move in a different way, so it's really not someones place to say that all of the people singing with Lauren are not getting the message of the song in their on way. As we are not God, to say as breakaway321 said that those people ain't in the spirit is not accurate. I dare say we can't see inside someones soul
Every instance of dancing that is not considered sinful was done in worship or praise to God. Here are some more principles to keep in mind in considering dancing: Ecclesiastes 3:4—There is an appropriate time to dance (and by implication an inappropriate time to dance). Psalm 149:3; 150:4—Both passages mention that we can praise or worship God through dance. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20—Our bodies belong to God, and they are the temple of the Holy Spirit. So everything we do must be honoring to Him.
This ended up in "revelry" (v. 6) and being "out of control" (v.25 says "naked" in some translations). In this case, dancing led to very sinful activity. In Exodus 15:20 (mentioned above), Miriam was dancing to celebrate the victory God's power had brought at the Red Sea. Second Samuel 6:12-16—David "danced before the Lord" to celebrate the Ark of the Covenant being brought back to Jerusalem.
While Moses was up on the mountain talking to God, the Israelites built an idol. In the process of the idol worship, they began to dance.
The Bible doesn't give specific instructions on dancing. It may be helpful to point out some examples of good and bad dancing, and then mention some biblical principles to build dancing standards on. Exodus 32:6, 19-25—This is a disappointing part of Israel's history.
I agree with breakaway321, there's a difference in dancing in the spirit and what they were doing. I think this song is awesome but it seemed like a mockery to those that really have the spirit and dance in the spirit.
Please SHARE your spiritual discernment with me.....I love the Lord, I've given my life to Him.....I've repented....and I always pray that HE opens my eye to the truth. I think as Christians, we are supposed to lift eachother up......thanks so much for telling me I have no spiritual discernment.
Seriously, for those of us who aren't "in the spirit"...please explain. Because this song make sme want to Praise the Lord!!!!
Also, I think I can discern between which music is is a gift from God...and those that use that gift to worship HIm. I've been to 3 David Phelps concerts, Chris Rice and I cant wait to see the Gaither tour in my city at the end of May! These people know how to Praise God!!!
To be in the Spirit is to not do things of the flesh... How is doing a disco a Spirit filled praise? The world and God do not mix... Until you are filled with the Holy Ghost, I think you will have a harding time understanding. That does not mean you don't have spiritual descernment.... But if you've been to a holiness church, there is certainly a different Spirit to the worship. It's hard to explain unless you've been it, but once you have, you KNOW. :D
@breakaway321 then david danced before the Lord with all his might;so david and all the house of israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.now as the ark of the Lord came into the city of david ,michal, sauls daughter, looked through a window and saw King david leaping and whirling before the Lord;and she despised him in her heart.therefore michal the daughter of saul had no children to the day of her death.had to skip some go to 2Sam 6:14
@breakaway321 the bible says david danced with all his might before the Lord
not when the spirit of the Lord come upon him a in other places. I believe we should be afraid to speak even one word that may be against the Lords chosen as he told miriam when she spoke about moses
Sister in Christ, I greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! You are beautiful, wonderful, blessed and really chosen for God and his people. I'm happy to see you! May the Lord bless you sister! Amen.
Her clothes cover up almost all her skin...and could you please tell me where it is written in the bible that God hates her haircut?! She's getting her praise on!! Way to go Lauren!!!!!!!!!! She's adorable.
1 Corinthians 11: 14Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? 15But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
i've got your back (for what it's worth!)...some people want to pick and choose the parts of the bible they want to believe but it just doesn't work that way!
Jesus did not have long hair. If you look, historically, the haircut among the Romans Empire of that time period was the Caesar cut. The reason we have pictures of Jesus with long hair is obviously because of the Anglo Saxon influence in art. Jesus is depicted as a white man with long brown hair... This is completely inaccurate! He most likely had short curly black hair, and very dark skin... He was a middle eastern after all!
And you can believe what you want, but the Bible says women are to have long hair. Women in that time period never took scissors to their hair.... Women in the middle ages were burned at the stake for even trimming their hair. Women during the great holiness revival in the 1700-1800's did not cut their hair. Women in the Pentecostal revival of the early 1900's did not cut their hair... Why? Because the Bible says it is a shame for a women to be shorn or shaven... These words literally mean
@itsgoodtoseeme91 I agee with you.. The bible's the bible! it's a great song but it would have been different if they were actually under the spirit of the Lord, and actually see what its like to have the Holy Ghost on you so strong! Theres nothing like it when you fall out in the spirit or get in the laughing spirit! its amazing!!!
@2012LeeAnn I agree with "getting in the spirit"... It is amazing! BUT what you are looking for is not in this particular episode/recording. You should look up some other of their music and see how REAL it really is. I believe they were just winding down. ;) God Bless All Musicians!

I'm not here to dissect the Bible. You simply asked for where it's written in the Bible about women and potentially "short" hair.
While I believe Lauren has, at times, worn shirts abit too low, I feel she is somewhat modestly dressed here.
