  • Tarentino meets Monty Python. Talk about great imagination. I wish there was more of that today instead of seeing the same kodak whores who consistently make the cover of magazines.

  • Hey thanks a bunch plotbox. It must've been about 1970 when I saw this as a short with a Doors movie. For some reason I thought it was called 'Fluid Journey' and I've been trying to find it under that name for years. You really made my day!

  • Why is Slash hanging out with the Village People?

  • saw this on onn tv in so.cal in the late 70's.....ahh good times

  • tetsuo... long live stopmotion...

  • at least this video has more content than the bullshit - default - stop motion technique everyone and their grandma is using nowadays!!!

how about that!!! a real film with stop motion....not a half baked vomit idea..

  • O my god ! Its the hells homos!

  • mate!!! love it great stuff

  • Preety cool!

  • I first saw this on a Dick Van Dyke comedy special about 1969, and it's been burned into a small corner of my brain ever since. Looked for it on the Net for years, wouldn't you know YouTube would have it? Kinda wish there was more stop-motion in it, but it would probably get monotonous quickly. Yes, the music IS pretty irritating. And stop-motion sure ain't nothing new, like the original King Kong in 1933.

  • OMG! I can't believe you have this! I have not seen this since I was a kid living in Abilene, Texas in 1986. I was laughing my ass off then and, in remembering, doing so now. Thank you!!! Also, there is another one I remember that used old west cowboys on invisible horses. Still want to see that one again too.

  • thank you so much for that video. saw it years ago and tried to explain to friends how it was made and how funny it was, now i can show it around.

took me hours to find it...

  • On the subject of stop-motion, have you all seen the Wizard of Speed and Time? Great movie with lots of classical-style special effects.

  • And to add a few cents: The original is on 16 mm. I'm a projectionist in a movie theatre, I have played it several times.

Also, as commented above, the original only has sound, no music.

    Greetings again,

    Eduard.

  • Perhaps the funniest movie i've ever seen!

    greetings,

    Eduard.

  • THIS IS FROM THE KOOL AID VIDEO

  • yikes, there must have been alot of pot involved in this production...far out man!

  • Back in 1978 I worked for a new outfit called Showtime.

This was one of the short films we used to fill the gaps between the movies and promos.

It is circa 1967. (If you can read Roman numerals, you can see the copyright date below the opening title)

Pyramid films has been around a long time. They produced classic short spoofs like Close Encouters of the Nerd Kind, Pork Lips Now, and Hardware Wars.

What you are seeing here looks like a deck to deck VHS dub of a VHS off air copy.

  • I like the responses claiming this is digital as if stop motion has NEVER BEEN DONE before 2003. do some research and realize this is the type of stuff everyone today rips off. the world wasn't created 4 years ago.

    oh this is awesome!

  • PEOPLE! I remember this film, as well as its sequel. They showed them to us in school back in 1978 to 1980. As an eighth grade kid, I thought it was pretty cool. It is NOT digital, they took shots, frame by frame to make this movie.

  • Y-M-C-A!!!

  • its called stop animation, where you shoot one frame at a time, move the action a little and snap another frame, when played back normal you get a slight "jumpy effect". Nicley done for its time.

  • I highly doubt any of those guys would have stopped for a female hitchhiker.

  • Digital? No. If you check out the date in the begining, (it was kind of fuzzy) it's between 1967 or 68.

Digital video wasn't even a gleam in anyone's eye yet.

Bill Gates and Steve Jobs were barely in high school when that clip was released.

  • OMG that is so fake. You see the strings.

  • No shit! They're not actually riding anything either1

  • My Dad showed me this recently- he & his friends made this in the 60's! It's so great!!!

  • Nickelodeon's 'Turkey Television' ran this short...along with much more similar material.

  • Ha ha!! Brilliant. I'm that old, I should remember this!

  • great creativity!!!

  • Great, silly, Monty Python type clip from the late 60's.

If you can find them, the same group of guys did two other goofy clips called "Blaze Glory" and "Sergeant Swell". Just as funny/silly as this one.

  • This clip is veeeery good, truly. Respect :-).

  • I loved it. Thanks for posting this.

  • Seen the original version in 16mm on the big screen and withOUT the annoying music... drowns out the original sound effects... been 27 years since I've seen this classic!

  • From what I'm told,it was shot digitally , then made to look old using filters.

    nice try.

  • you mean when it was transferred to video right? No it was originally 16mm looked sharp on the screen. I saw it! back in 1979

  • Nope. This is authentic. I saw it years ago, before digital.

  • This is amazing! I can't believe nobody else has commented!
