Ah come on SG:U wasnt "edgy" or clever, it was just crap drama with people all arguing with eachother and all having a million and one issues from their childhood or some crap like that (like anyone cared). Bring back sci-fi and bin Sci-drama. If I want to watch adults arguing non-stop with eachother for just under an hour I`d watch Eastenders. This is not clever adult etertainment! Its trash! Allow me to set the record straight

1). Atlantis sucks. Always has and always will, unless you enjoy watching re-hashed SG-1 plots in another galaxy. They had a few good episodes in the first season - the rest was downright unwatchable.

2). SGU also sucks, and not because it was serialised or dark and edgier, but because they basically tried to merge the new Battlestar Galactica with Star Trek: Voyager and managed to still make it suck.

3). Teal'c's reaction to the "New SG-1" is win.

@HisDivineShadow245 No offense, but every TV show is a bunch of rehashed plot, even SG-1 had plenty of rehashed plots that other Sci-Fi shows have done, it is simply the way TV works, similar ideas, similar executions. Just because Atlantis as a spin-off of SG-1 will walk in the predecessor's footsteps doesn't mean it sucks. As for SGU, the show was slow to find a balance between all the personal drama and the sci-fi ones, they were one-sided and was too late in realizing that.

@Fbueller129 Well now with no SGU, there is no DVD movies for any of the Stargate franchise either, since the network and film studio have seen that fans will not come out to watch SGU, they've decided to put a stop to all other Stargate projects too. So for all the fans who thought stopping SGU would give them a reason to finish the SG-1 and Atlantis movies, it's not gonna happen.

@BetaArtemis I know, that sucks. I wanted them to wrap up the Atlantis storyline by dealing with the Wraith once and for all. Maybe if they had done a better job with SGU, i.e. not copying nBSG and adding a dash of every teen drama that has ever existed, it wouldn't have been an issue.

@Fbueller129 I actually thought SGU had a good premise, but it was just darker and more psychological than most people are used to for a Stargate series, which SG-1 and Atlantis were more light and happy. SGU was more serialized and slow-growing, I thought that by Season 2, it was actually getting good, but too many people still were hurting and angry from Atlantis' cancellation so they kind of transferred the anger into a bias against SGU.
