The price is a rip off... use the ps3 as a regular gaming and get a blueray dvd player (for about the same price)and integrate that with your entertainment system instead.
But the PS2 only use a small percent of the same codes the PS3 uses... You'll only be able to do basic stuff with this device, surely? I mean, it's better than nothing, don't get me wrong, but it isn't a solution, as such.
I'd call 47 out of 51 a pretty good percentage. The PS2 remote has 4 buttons out of 51 (Shuffle, Program, Repeat, A-B) that the PS3 remote does not. The PS3 remote has 4 buttons out of 51 (Red, Green, Blue, Yellow) that the PS2 remote does not. We've mapped these four directly to eachother. All 51 Bluetooth codes are available in the IR2BT. Feel free to check out the mappings at our website.
Correct, same as while in a movie. You must get back to the XMB first for the PowerOff sequence to work correctly. Sorry, we have no control over Sony's menuing choices.
Update: our power-off sequence now works in all modes (XMB, in-movie, in-game). Logitech/Harmony has added us to their database. Simply add a new Game Console with DVD device with IR2BT as the manufacturer and model and all of the 51 buttons, including the power off sequence, will be added to your Logitech/Harmony remote.
Many people want to operate the PS3 in a Home Theater setting with a universal remote. The PS3's remote operates using Bluetooth, not Infrared. This means almost no other remote will work with it, which is why this guy invented something to work around this limitation.

If you are playing a game why would you use anything other than the PS3 controller thats already in your hand to turn off your PS3 anyway?
callmetw 3 years ago
... so you can turn everything off (TV, receiver, PS3, even lights) with one simple power off button.
