did you notice how bumpy the track looked on the 48's hood in the last laps? they give the cars a scary sense of speed and instability at the same time. when you smooth out the track or repave it, the cars are like gliding across the track, and therefore they look like theyre goin slower.

man when i think back, we only had one side by side finish in 2009 in all three series that i can think of. when ragan won at dega in the nwide race. i guess hamlin and edwards at phoenix in the spring was sort of a side by side.

What i said came out wrong. Im not saying anything bad about Johnson, but with nascars ratings dropping big time its not good to have a repeat champion 4X in a row. Yes dedicated fans will stay, but the sport runs off of new people coming in, and when they see such dominance it throws them off.

The diamond-grind surface shredded the tires after 15-20 laps. It was after few wrecks during test sessions, the Grand National, this race, and the fall Grand National race to figure out it was the surface and tires problem. Lowes was repaved after the fall race.

This was the first race I ever watched and my favorite driver was Bobby Labonte. I wasn't too happy after the race.

I remember watching this on tv with all the cautions, it didn't end til around 11PM EST. This was about as good a finish as when Edwards won in Atlanta earlier in the year - maybe even a better finish. I feel bad for Labonte but you knew Johnson was coming with four tires.

i know butt it happen during the race 2 look closely at 5:30 and u see the blue tape, he receive damage early in the race and thats 1 of the reason the track was so bad back 3 years ago loose asphalt.

yea it was tar filler between some cracks that came out and hit the nose of jeffs car, pretty ironic how it was only him who was getting the bitter end of the tracks condition.
