Mass Effect 2: Genesis - Part 1

I started a new ME2 game recently Importing a Complete Mass Effect 2 Save, meaning restarting with an old profile. Apparently the comic plays now regardless, because i watched the comic, and instead of asking me choices, it progressed and automatically reflected my choices in the telling.

can someone help me because i downloaded mass effect 2 genesis and i imported my mass effect 1 character to mass effect 2 but after the normandy gets destroyed the comic doesnt appear?

@TheGodJeremie Can't import a character from ME1 if you wanna use Genesis :( Genesis was meant for: 1. Folks who haven't played through ME1

@MrSlyNigga Did you start a character from scratch? It won't activate if you use an imported character, be it from ME1 or a completed ME2 file

Just downloaded it and started a new game but is Liara supposed to take ashleys place in the beginning when the normandy is the total sh*t handed to it

@VioletAmber That's right. If you import from ME1, the person on your ship will either be (in priority order) your love interest (if applicable) or the person you saved on Virmire. However, if you use Genesis, it will always be Liara for one reason: Genesis isn't triggered til after the Normandy blows and it's not sure yet who you will choose to save between Ashley and Kaidan, so the game takes the safe route and put Liara on the ship instead.

@razoremblem You have to start a new game w/o importing a character over from ME1. Genesis will then start up after the after Shep gets spaced in the intro.

Thanks for the info, I was hoping that there would be more choices, ie: Fist, Helena, Blake, Conrad, the reporter, etc... I know these are small choices and most just make appearances in ME2, but what if they show up in ME3, especially Conrad. I can't see getting the whole experience with just a handful of decisions. I thought I was the only person to turn down all Li's in ME1 just to be with Tali in ME2 with no drama.

If you saved the Rachni, you'll get a message from them but they don't make an appearance. It is hinted they will show up in Mass Effect 3.

The purpose of Genesis was to tie up any loose ends for people who purchased ME2 via PS3 or Xbox360 and did not play ME1 this gives everyone full access to ME1 w/o the playthrough, it's a smart way to keep noobs involved cool move on Bioware and DarkHorse part...for ppl playing new game only!

@TrouserSnake261 It should start up after you watch the Normandy get destroyed and Shepard gets spaced. However, it only starts up if you make a brand new character. You can't import a character from ME1 or it won't work.

@GamerRangerX Listen, if you don't want commentary, why did you watch anything beyond the first few seconds? There's plenty of folks out there who have posted Genesis in far better quality and don't have any commentary attached. I add commentary in hopes of being able to make up for technical shortcomings. In the time you spent telling me to stfu, you could have found a vid for Genesis where the author did indeed stfu. It's not hard.

If you don't know this was "made" for PS3 players since ME1 wasn't released on PS. I guess Microsoft decided to milk some money out of it and released it on their Marketplace as well.

@samfisher1966 Thanks for the view! Anyway, it should start up after the intro movie where the collectors attack and Shepard gets spaced. However, it will only start up if you're making a new character from scratch. It won't work if you import a character from Mass Effect 1. Hope that helps.
