How to Dye your Fringe

hi im gonna dye my fringe but i need to work out how to make dye go from lighter at roots to dark at fringe tips???

@bashan16 You could try putting it in at the roots leaving it for half the time and then combing the mixture through for the rest of the time left on the dye. it should give you a fairly gradual looking tone.Good luck.

thats sooooooo epic!!!!!!!!!! i have dirty blondish brown hair dyed black but its growing out and i have dyed it in a while so i wanted to re-dye it black and have the blonde bangs like that, would i have to bleach my hair or would i have to repeat it more than once? i want a really bright blonde like platinum, super noticable and bright

@TheCandEChic You'd probably have to bleach it more than once. If it goes to yellowy you could try using a toner. Manic panic do a toner that turns it whiteish it's called "Virgin Snow".

@BaconLoverForLife I'm guessing because you said 'bangs' you're from the US (or atleast, you don';t live in the UK) I have no idea of the brands that are avaliable. But if they do have it, I used Schwartzkopf. I liked the brand but i think there are probably better out there. For dark brown hair and icey blonde would look epic, but to make the blonde icey you often have to buy a toner as well this takes out the yellow colour after, again I don't know what you can buy outside of the UK. I have naturally ginger hair, dyed a medium brown. What colour would it go if i used this?

@PARAMOREpleaseX no idea. probably a blondy ginger colour. (strawberry blonde) but if you dye it twice you'll probably get to the colour on teh box, if it's then too yellowy and artificial i recomend a purple toner Manic panic do a good one called "virgin snow".

@Ch0c0Chick probably, most blonde hair dyes include some bleach? but don't take my word for it I'm not an expert I just pick up a packet from a shop really and follow the instructions.

Heya, thats actually amazing, im using colourB4 on my hair to lift out about 5 applications of dark brown and black on my hair, and my natural colour is about as light or maybe a little lighter then yours, and that bleach you used looks amazing! im definatly using that XD

@TheChucckk It is a pretty good bleach but it's really damaging to your hair. it makes a better colour on the second time around but if you're already taking out a lot of the colour out of your hair you'll probbalyget a brighter blonde than me, mine was a bit yellow. Good luck with it anyway, I'd love to see the results!

@TheChucckk :o it wont, really it wont, just make sure you don't go over the time limit and test the dye before you use it. Unless you're too hardcore to test the dye. you hair wont fall out. if it does.. sue me. wait... Don't sue me but I'm certain it wont fall out ^-^. but it MIGHT go ginger, if that happens just dye it again :D

@shakorababora oh that's awesome! Oh yeah very badass, but a good idea, I didn't have any fabric I could live without to hold my hair back. More and more people are doing this hairstyle now, it's awesome, I feel partly responsible for three people doing it in mycollege :3 Hope it went well for you!

@simpllyiliana oh, it depends what you mean by the entire fringe and where you think the fringe begins, but I did dye all of my fringe plus a little down the side, since then I've re dyed and it's the colour on teh packet if you watch a couple of my updated Videos you'll see more clearly how much I've dyed.

@VanillaDinosaurs lol I tried to last night and it was a major FAIL haha so I did chocolate with red under and under my bangs but I guess my hair was too dark bcuz the red didn't really get the right color and you can't really tell also under my bangs lol yeah I didn't know how to do it and you can't really see it but anyway well I know what I did wrong I had to get more hair I guess.

@simpllyiliana oh yeah, it's often a good idea to bleach your hair before using red, the downside is that it will fade out orange, but i like orange :)

Ive just brought that dye, and another incase it didnt work and came out ginger cos my hairs quite dark brown, yours came out really well :D
