@Crabbsticks Not entirely correct. Scholars of the day had pretty much figured out the Earth was round (hence the idea for Columbus' expedition in the first place). The myth that the Earth was flat was basically a misconception of the masses and uneducated.

Everyone has their own opinion about time travel and how it may be possible. However, time travel is impossible. We travel through time in a positive direction. Time travel to the past would mean a negative direction to time. Impossible. Time and space are intertwined and inseparable. You can't have negative time, just like you can't have negative length. If i could time travel I wouldnt waste my time coming to this age, I would be going to learn things. There is nothing to learn in our time everything is being documented. I know I said there were 6 possible theories about time travel, another one I heard is that UFO's which people see in the sky could also be time machines and the aliens in them are us from the future. A scientist named Dr. Hamilton said time travel will not only happen in the future, but it has happened in the past and today in the present through time slips. So there are six possible theories about time travel.
1. You can only go back to when the machine was invented.
2. Like Grampa Simpson said if you touch one small grain of sand in the past, it could cause the future to change big time.
3. While you changed the past, you will only have that memory of the original past.
4. You can only view the distant past, but not get involved.
5. Like Fry did in Futurama, being your own grandparent.
6. Or end up making an Alternate Universe like Trunks.

Also if you did change the past, you could end up being your own grand parent like Fry from Futurama did when he went back in time to Roswell in 1947.

As I was saying from my last comment when Trunks changed the time line, Goku did not die from a heart attack and it was Dr. Gero as 20 and 19 who attacked the city that trunks said 17 and 18 would attack. Plus when he and Krillin killed Cell as an embryo, it did not kill the Cell from his time line. As for signing up for time travel, I guess you would have to know people in high places. Like I had a teacher who knew someone in government who had clearance to Area 51 in Rachel, Nevada.

But the time you came from would still be the same, like in Dragonball Z when Trunks killed Frieza and King Cold, he changed thing. In his time line, Androids 17 and 18 killed all of the Z Fighters except Goku who died of a heart attack.
