I agree!! The animators really outdid themselves with visuals in this one. **SPOILER** It was so amazing when this scene suddenly became "real" later in the movie even if it was just one of Facilier's lies. That white dress is the most beautiful look for her, even more than the wedding gown imo.

I agree with prcat the music was borderline abysmal when compared to other Disney movies where I could listen to every song in the soundtrack non stop... Princess an the frog is all a mixture of jazz gospel style singing and blues. It tried to be too much but it came up lacking:(( I was sad but hopefuly Disney is gonna come up with better things... They need to think more on the lines of beauty and the beast and litle mermaid

It was a good movie. I saw it opening weekend but after looking at this clip I may have to take another peek. I enjoyed that the voice of the character and the singing voice are one in the same. That doesn't happen that often in the Disney realm.

Quite possibly my favorite song in the movie (and the catchiest), but I wish Alan Menken had been given the opportunity to do the music. Lasseter's reason for not allowing Menken to work on Princess and the Frog (it would be "repetitive" since Menken had worked on Enchanted) makes no sense considering how soon Toy Story 3 is set to be released. The animation for this part was perfect - I love when they choose an art style to highlight the time period and mood of a movie/scene.

I agree. In fact, Alan Menken was originally going to work on this movie but they switched to Randy Newman instead, who tends to not change up his style, all his songs sound the same. The songs were good, but I think Alan Menken could have made them really amazing!

The style of this sequence makes me so happy. I'm a huge Mary Blair fan, and it's well documented that the animators would/could not find a way to fit her works in to the films of her time.

This is not exactly Blair-esque, but it's a similar sort of style, and the creators of the film found a great way to take a different style of art and work it in to the film flawlessly. This is exactly what should have been done for Mary and her genius so many decades ago.

Agreed. Newman's got a great, catchy style, but lyrically he's.. not a Howard Ashman (which is to say, not really a storyteller). Which is fine for regular old song writing, but for a revisit of the classic Disney musical, it might've behooved the studio to look into lyricists with a background in musical theater or something...
