@gurache je fais des études de droit et je connais bien l'histoire française, je suis donc bien placé pour te dire que notre pays, plus tu l'étudies, et plus tu te rends compte qu'il est moisi, totalement gangréné par des politiciens tous plus abrutis les uns que les autres. bref je ne vais pas m'étaler dans les détails, mais il suffit de passer une semaine aux USA pour se rendre compte que la vie est bien meilleure là-bas (vie largement moins chère, plus de libertés, mentalité plus ouverte etc)

Ungrateful bastards! If I was King Louis XVI, I would have helped the British during the American Revolution in exchange for getting Nouvelle-France back, especially Montreal and Quebec. Then, that would have gotten rid of the French Revolution later on and the monarchy lives on.

After all the wars and whatnot the 2 countries went through over the thousand years or so, I don't think the act of helping the British, even for the return of land, would have garnered approval among the French. And besides, this is a STAND UP, this doesn't mean he's ungrateful towards the French, it just means he's a comedian.

I'm actually reading a book about anti-americanism, and it says mainly the older demographic of French people dislike the americans, while the youth tend to like them. So your opinion would fit that description if you were under 30 maybe.

@miiwiiplay You are completely right, older french tend to dislike the USA because of the french medias who try to give a very bad image of the US and the americans. But the young people dont fall into the trap. Indeeed, most of them are aware of the fact that the best things come from the USA: music, movies, video games, the food they eat (mc donald, kfc etc)
I'm not saying that everyone love the american, but the majority do. Even though those fucking journalists say bullshits about you. :)

@GrayJeager C'est bizarre ta vision des choses ... d'accord pour la musique, le cinéma et business (car tt tourne autour de l'argent ici), là ils sont bons. Excuse-moi pour les jeux vidéo, ce sont les japonais (Nintendo, sony, wii...). Nourriture = l'une des meilleures et des + variées, c est la FR. Je vis aux US, tu dois être trop influencé par la TV et les séries/films : ds les grandes villes, c'est bien mais c 'est une minorité du pays. Ailleurs, petites villes sont assez pauvres

@gurache je fais des études de droit et je connais bien l'histoire française, je suis donc bien placé pour te dire que notre pays, plus tu l'étudies, et plus tu te rends compte qu'il est moisi, totalement gangréné par des politiciens tous plus abrutis les uns que les autres. bref je ne vais pas m'étaler dans les détails, mais il suffit de passer une semaine aux USA pour se rendre compte que la vie est bien meilleure là-bas (vie largement moins chère, plus de libertés, mentalité plus ouverte etc)

@gurache D'accord avec toi pour certaines choses, par contre pas trop pour 9/11, on est dans le même panier avec les US, les attentats extrémistes nous menaçent aussi et bien évidemment, les FR n'ont rien avoir là dedans. Par contre, c'est vrai que les US sont bien meilleurs pour le cinéma, le business (tout tourne autour de l'argent aux US), après pour tout le reste, on a rien a envié aux US. J'y vis depuis un an maintenant et je vais rentrer faire ma vie en France, c est certain!

French may have a strong accent when they speak a foreign language because their mother tongue (prononciation and intonation) is very unique and characteristic.
Thus when foreigners speak French their accent is very thick -especially english and asian speakers- and they can hardly get rid of it (which french find funny too)

As for me I'm going into my third year of French and I have wanted to visit France since I was a little girl. And I've always wanted to visit the UK. I plan on traveling to Europe and Asia after high school.

it comes from after WWII, you know when in the US women started to shave their legs and underarms, in French women didn't do it in the 1950's... but it changed in the 1960 (maybe more in the 70's no?), they kept that stereotype.
