  • NOW MAKE GOD OF WAR!

  • Beowulf never died by falling of a cliff with a dragon

  • I AM BEOWULF!!!

  • Beowulf isn't supposed to be a jerk... he's actually really nice and modest. But that wouldn't sell...

  • THIS IS SPARTA

  • I am Ripper... Tearer... Slasher... Gouger. I am the Teeth in the Darkness, the Talons in the Night. Mine is Strength... and Lust... and Power!

    I AM MRS. NESBITT!

    HA-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • @blackcatox66: i totally agree with you!

  • If you wish to see the most epic Beowulf/Grendel fight scene, search:

    Beowulf Parkour

    You will not be dissapointed!

  • i wish he would of screamed "beowulf" at they end with a bit more power

  • 4 Brad!

  • As much as I like this movie, I don't like how they portray Beowulf, Beowulf was a hero, a good man, in this they made him a jerk.

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91

While it does deviate from the poem, I think the 3rd act (when Beowulf is an old man) we see him become a hero -- he could have run off like his wife suggests but he realizes that he had to end what he had started.

  • @ZenCatcher I didn't know he had a wife.

  • @Agent1W

Not in the poem, but the film. It's been a while since I've seen the film, but I got the impression after Hrothgar hands over his kingdom to Beowulf, he includes his queen in the deal haha. Otherwise, I don't see a reason why Wealtheow would have stuck around if she wasn't Beowulf's wife.

  • @ZenCatcher That's plausible since the queen would be bound to the king by crown. But it would be wrong to take a man's woman like that, like what happened with Oedipus.

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91 They made him a muthafucking badass!

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91 depicts him as a man with greatness granted upon him unlike the classical blessed by gods approach

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91 yeah the movie was not based entirely on the Epic Poem

  • does anyone know the name of the song in the very beginning, when you see the ship in the water. not the heavy metal one. i already know that song. any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • @Lotrfan99 what's the heavy metal song? would like to know.

  • The top comments are the same guy

  • TES V Skyrim

  • i'd have liked this film alot better if it hadn't been CGI. it just ruined the film, it would've been better if the monsters were in CGI. real actors give a sense of realism.

  • great movie ,i like it a lot!! dont know why so many ppl didnt like it

  • It may not have been entire accurate to the story, but damn this movie was awesome.

  • Beowulf reminds me of James Hetfield

  • @vitoboy92 me to

  • "I am BEOWULF" looks like "THIS IS SPARTA" just more faster.

  • Was it the old man from Batman that did the voice?

  • I am ripper, terror, slasher, I am the teeth in the darkness, talons of the night, mighty strength and power. I AM BEOWULF!

  • at first, Grendel sounds like they hired some child bitching and whining.. but we all know that they hired Dani Filth for the real screams ;)

  • Прекрасный фильм, один из лучших. Властитель силы ! Лорд Беовульф !

  • Beowulf has got to be the most inaccurate movie I've ever seen. That's why I love it :D

  • @NationalVideoWatcher It amazes me how they were able to completely cast aside everything that the original poem specified. It's really is amazing how far one can fall from the mark.

  • AD 509 - and nothing much has changed here in Denmark since then LOL

( I am of course referring to the wild partying and drinking in the intro scenes )

  • koje je ovo govno od filma, ideje, scenarija... DEBILIZAM!!!

  • There was no woman in the epic! This is crap!

  • Movie was great, but it was waaaay too short.

  • this is a great fucking line. it sounds really alot like when gerrard butler says "this is sparta" any way i was a little dissapointed it was digitalized it could have been sick if they made it into a real movie but they probably set this book back about another 20 years before they try it again. also they didnt stick to the book that much. in the book he tears grendels arm off with his bare hands! not crushes it in a door. sheesh. but still sick!

  • Play from 1:10 if you want to see the part you were looking for when you searched

  • @Y0ruba lol howd you know

  • Best cgi ever?

  • @BudzMcgr33n no thats legend of the gaurdians

  • @Archeangel2014 I like legends of the guardians, but I still think Beowulf tops it. Its much harder to render realistic looking humans because of the curved surfaces associated with limbs and facial animation.

  • its like a damn cartoon the equality

  • i cant believe they still havent found the name of the author who wrote the story. I think if Tolkien were still alive - he'd have LOVED this.

  • @ChronicIntentions its not a story. its a viking legend. don't look, just listen and learn from it.

  • @TheZZ109 I had no idea. Only just found out.

  • what's the name of the music?

  • To fuck with all the argueing. I just enjoy it for the strong character traits, like courage, honour, purpose, joy, pride, etc.

  • Funny how the movie is PG-13, but this trailer is rated R.

  • PURE MANLYNESS!!!! I AM BEOWULF. I'M HERE TO KILL YOUR MONSTER.

  • English accent! Ray Winston ftw!

  • @barthigi2, I do find that hilarious, even though he should have a swedish-like accent.

  • @elevat0r123

yeah but whats bad ass about a swedish accent haha

    london accent is powerful

  • Nobody violates virgins like Beowulf.

  • Comment removed

  • i am beowulf

  • Maybe you need to have read the Beowulf epic BEFORE watching this movie, like me, but I found it damn enjoyable.

  • AWESOME

  • show esse filme gostei muito

  • What this song 0:54 - 1:29 plis :D

  • "tonight will be different"

    "TODAY WE DINE IN HELL!!"

  • Comment removed

  • best epic movie since then!

  • decent movie but, like most movies that are based on literature, it would have been way better if it didn't drift too far from the poem

  • There was a video game for this. What movie DOESN'T have a game nowadays?!

  • its amazing that noone made a video game from this

  • Is this a Virtual movie ?

  • I AM BEOWULF! And I am here to kill your monshta

  • Anyone else find it absolutely ridiculous that despite the gratuity of the violence, they were afraid to show full nudity? Angelina Jolie was practically buck-naked but they couldn't go so far as to show the nipples? Would that have been "too much"? Christ, society is so afraid of nudity, and yet, you can get away with gorey and bloody images on public T.V. at a PG-13 level. I'm not complaining about graphic violence; to the contrary, I can't get enough. But why not graphic nudity too?

  • @TheOmegaParadigm

Errr... Maybe Angelina didn't want to?

  • @TheOmegaParadigm Its the rating system, the system has a big loop hole, because everything above the ratings is considered pornographic is the reason why sex/nudity is taken more into account than violence. And rather than making strict unbreakable standarts for each category, movies get rated multiple times during the editing process so they just change it so that they fit the rating (most PG-13 movies barely make the ratings.

  • @TheOmegaParadigm I never understood that either. O~o It's animated, yeah. Why not just bump the rating up to "R"? x'D I mean. I have seen soooo many R rated movies, with naked REAL people. Not animated. >~> The tale of Beowulf isn't one for kids anyhow. x'D Was it so focused on a PG crowed, just for the fact that it was animated? >/

  • @PumpkinPumpkinVivi Probably. Anything that is animated is typically assumed to be kid-oriented, because it is apparently "immature" to watch animated films or cartoons. Personally, I find that to be a load of garbage; animation is as much an adult genre as anything else, if not more so considering animation typically takes more time and effort than film does. I think the fact that is was a CG fantasy film put it in with Disney and Dreamworks movies, though it couldn't be farther from the truth!

  • @TheOmegaParadigm exactly.

in this french movie i saw, it had the equivalent of a PG rating and was little less than a porno

  • @Ringlord3434 I think that may be because Europe is much more comfortable when it comes to sex in television, cinema and the media. However, I know that violence, especially graphic violence, is looked down upon by European society. It's the exact opposite with the United States. You can watch an episode of CSI or Law and Order, and see blood and bodies and even decomposing corpses, but you'll nary see bare skin nudity. The U.S. also has a problem with "foul language". It's kind of strange.

  • @TheOmegaParadigm I agree totally, its just our society. For instance the german culture doesnt mine nudity but despises graphic violence

  • @TheOmegaParadigm peter would be happy with only a side boob, i think ur spoiled

  • @ovaxova Family Guy sucks, thus, your argument is fail.

  • @TheOmegaParadigm

    your just horny xD

  • @DUDNIKS you'd be horny too if you had the chance to stare at angelina jolie's titties :/

  • @DUDNIKS And you're just an idiot. "Your" used as "you are"? Really?

  • @TheOmegaParadigm

    Why the hate? lol

  • @DUDNIKS You said my argument was invalid and that I was just horny. I'm not exactly going to like you for that comment, am I?

  • @TheOmegaParadigm say you have a son and you let him watch graphic movies he isnt most likely isnt going to rob a bank but if you let him watch nudiy movies he might go down the street and impregnate a girl as a teenager well thats how i think it is

  • @TheOmegaParadigm frustrated pervert

  • @EminemDirtyDozen Yeah, right, because I think that sexual imagery is far less worse than blood and gore, and therefore should be shown when in tandem with excessive violence, that makes me a pervert. Well said. Clearly you're a student of an Ivy League academy.

  • @TheOmegaParadigm B/c that would be considered porn, and sorry i just noticed you posted that a year ago,i just wanted to say something now good day

  • @TheOmegaParadigm oh please.

  • @GameGuru2004 Wow, great argument. I especially liked that well delivered part where you said absolutely nothing about your assertions and left it all upon some juvenile utterance of disagreement.

  • @TheOmegaParadigm it was a comment on your statement, thats all it needs to be, please don't look into it, you scare me too much.

  • @TheOmegaParadigm Can I use this quote for my forum sig? =D

  • @dunevenker Go for it. Let me know what becomes of it, and if there are any naysayers, send them my way.

  • @TheOmegaParadigm Pause at 1:21 butt naked

  • @CpPlayer101 I said full on nudity, not one one bare ass. If there aren't breasts or genitalia, then it clearly isn't bare nudity.

  • @TheOmegaParadigm you know, we don't have this problem in italy, you can see nipples in PUBLIC TV or in family movies !!! i'm not here for judge, 'cause italy has its own problems, but what are you talking about is a tipical american way to think

  • @TheOmegaParadigm I think someone just wants to see Angelina Jolie's tits.

  • @TheOmegaParadigm I don't really understand your comment. There are a lot of porn out there. our society is not afraid of nudity. This film is not an erotic one, so there's no explicit nudity. And I don't want to see a dick in a movie. You're probably a man so you'd like to see a vagina, but it could be a dick, and let see if you still want to see graphic nudity. And come on, you can see free porn in the internet, our society is full of sex and nudity.

  • @Albertolo1928 Hmmm... Did you see the Watchmen?

  • @TheOmegaParadigm Who does angelina jolie play?

  • @swaggkidmece hella,the nordic goddess of hell

  • @pokewhite86 What? Grendel's mother is supposed to be the godess Hel? When does the movie say this?

  • @Wotanraven that is right, and it is obvious, well,i dont´t know what to say, just check wikipedia if i am wrong please

  • @pokewhite86 How it is obvious? Grendel's mother isn't Hel in the book, and nothing says she is Hel in the movie. Wikipedia doesn't mention it either. Grendel's mother is just some sort of sorceress.

  • @swaggkidmece then maybe you are right, but i am sure that hel is the nordic goddess of hell anyway

  • What a kick ass movie....

  • watched it last night, was a great movie. from when it was advertised when i was a kid i never realised it was animated :P

  • this movie kicks some fucking ass man

  • Beowulf simply walks into Mordor

  • Just because I'm an English Major and have read the original epic in old english, I will say, the movie would have been better if it stuck to the original poem.

  • Brilliant movie

  • One of the best movies ever made! Extremely underrated. What do u expect from the director of Forrest Gump and Back to the Future?

  • loves beowulf the blondie, ursula?

  • i am ripper tearer slasher im the teeth in the darkness (the talons in the night) mine is strength lust and power i am beowulf

  • I read the book but never got around to watching the movie

  • This movie is awesome but I think it has a lot of potential to be better in story.

  • It was actually a pretty good movie.

  • Actually it's very underrated because it's fucking awesome.

  • @andriante Actually it's horribly perverted from the original poem, which makes it make zero sense in the logical scheme of things. Grendel is a joke, Grendel's mother is a joke, oh and the dragon is the lovechild of Grendel's mother and Beowulf. Yeah, it's fucking awesome alright. Fucking awesome, of course, means stupid beyond all reason.

  • @MouseyWithPower Sorry you feel that way. I've read the original aswell and felt the movie was a gread adaption.

  • @andriante ...how!? For it to have been a great adaptation, it would've had to follow the storyline. Beowulf doesn't even become king of the Geats, he takes over for Hrothgar, who kills himself! What the fuck sense does that make? Great adaptation, heeeeeell no. Sort of cool action film? Maybe.

  • @MouseyWithPower Also, i agree, if you have read the original text in old english you will notice that beowulf was a geat. And his name is pronounced Beowulf, not bayowulf fyi. I used to pronounce it the same way as it used to be called until , after a while, i succumbed to the film fever that was flooding the market at the time, where the pronounciation "Bayowulf" was on top.The original text in old english is so much more exciting and well written than modern translations like Heaney's edition

  • @MouseyWithPower if your gonna post stuff about something do some background on it, Beowulf Did become king of the Geats, Hrothgar is king of the Danes, so in the story Beowulf returns to his homeland and becomes king There. Beowulf does become king, just not where the movie says he does. the movie actually was accurate, right up until Beowulf went in the cave to kill Grendels mom.

  • @andriante damn right it is. this movie is the incarnation of testosterone.

  • XD We watched this at school, And some kid shit himself cause he got scared.

  • pathetic attempt to be funny

  • It wasnt an attempt, And it wasnt meant to be funny, It was a statement you prick, You obviously have a fucked up brain.

  • ye kid i belive ya just shut the fuck up

  • @TheNubOfTheTown Lol I watched this at school too

  • wat d fucking cideo...........

  • did nobody notice the nudity at 1:22?

  • It isn't directly, since there is this nice golden film on her breasts. *hrrhrr*

However, the gore should be a little more disturbing.

  • is this movie animated? i could have sworn it was acted but im not too sure really :/

  • It's the sort of film where you wonder why it wasn't acted.

  • Exactly. You can only take the uncanny valley so far until you start to wonder - why bother? Just shoot it with live actors.

  • @dabadeedabadie001 All animated

  • Yep it's animated

  • @dabadeedabadie001 animated

  • well.. it's not like it's a child-movie xp, and personally i think it was rlly good, i love the animation & all, 5/5

  • this movie was horrible it was nothing like the book and he says "I AM BEOWULF!!" like 5 times lol

  • its not a book asshole

    u dont know a shit

  • oo im sorry a poem u fucking dickhead

and im probably more intelligent than you'll ever be

  • yeah right

    u wish

  • Dude, Its an Epic Poem.

  • @gottaluvmadden09 You reminded me of my old teacher. He says something like this: only Americans give a shit about 3182 lines long epic story because they dont have brains to read a longer and more difficult literature. Of coure he was joking but looks like he was right in some way :P

  • I like your teacher.

  • or maybe they do have the brains but they don't want to waste they're time reading boring garbage you call literature...only a fucking no-life geek would do that.

  • 0:42

  • her screaming at :42 is chilling

  • omg tell me the name of the song and band

  • wats da song at 50 sec

  • @RICHbrowngrow02 Before you start insulting me for being racist, just know that I am half hispanic. With that said, you are stupid as fuck. In case you didn't know most hispanics have a certain amount of European ancestry, specially with the high German immigration to south america after both world wars, thus making a lot of latin americans partly white themselves. So congratulations, you just managed to insult your own "race" while trying to insult others.

  • @RICHbrowngrow02 Haha... Ahahaha...! HHHHHAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Hey everyone look at this! RICH here thinks he is funny! xD Its good though... Everyone needs a town idiot, and I think you fill the spot juuuuuuuuuust FINE! After all my friend evreyone wants to feel important HAHA..... But honestly go sit down and act tough behind a computer some place where you know you cant get hurt for sayin some things you know you would regret saying in person, and let the big kids talk in peace :P

  • wats the song that starts at 50: i love it

  • I am Beowulf, This is Sparta and You Shall Not Pass!

  • and I AM, YOUR, FATHER.....

  • BYCH

  • You have won many internets. ^_^

  • I am Pass! This is Beowulf! You shall not Sparta! XD

  • @HelloFade2 you forgot My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next. and Brothers, what we do in life... echoes in eternity. from Gladiator

  • @HelloFade2

    and release the kraken

  • @HelloFade2 BELIEVE IT!!

  • Hhmm

  • Damn we cant find the trailer music of this one

  • does anyone know the name of the song that plays from 0:50 to the end?

  • 1:12 - 1:27 BAD ASS

  • "I am Beowulf!" love that

  • We are watching this in my English 4 class. So far it's really good and bad ass! XD

  • Oh, man. No Offense, but I can't believe that your teacher is actually considering this a good accompaniment for the epic poem. I am taking an upper level college course on medieval literature and he only told us to compare trailers. But, I'm glad that you like the film and it may help you understand the poem in its entirety.

  • THIS

    IS

    SPARTA

    ?

    haha

  • shit its so damn good
