  • @BaraaTabbakh lol ok i get the message now your welcome

  • Thank you sir. I just got a used Limited sedition Red DS Lite and the L button was stiff as hell but you have saved me from an embarrassing trip back to the store. Happy gaming

  • i just checked my dsi it's been awhile since i got it out. it has philips screws on the bottom, they're not the tri wing screws.

we have small screwdrivers that would work but i think someone jammed these screws in. i guess that's what you get buying crap used from stupid kids who don't have the decency to prepare the system to sell.

i'm not sure about others but if i sell anything that can save data i wipe it clean beforehand.

are there certain dsi models with philips screws?

  • i got a dsi off amazon used, it had parental locks on it and wasn't formated before i bought it.

thank god the first two issues are gone. however the shoulder buttons are bad and i have cleaned them with a toothbrush and rubbing alcohol. several times now. they do work but not for long.

i can't take it apart, can't find a screwdriver that works which makes no sense seeing as we have a huge garage full of tools.

  • @jetfoxproductions nintendo use very special screws which require a very special tri wing screw driver look for one on ebay i got one for 2 pounds/bucks (i dunno where you live) you wont find a tri wing in 99% of all tool kits cus its like a manufacturers screwdriver that nintendo use.

  • @rockittt so there is a tool my dad doesn't own, i thought he had everything. he has an auto repair shop. so it's not a philips screwdriver? no wonder i couldn't get the screws out.

i think i stripped the screws though, i could give it a shot. i don't have an ebay account but i'll check amazon. i live in the usa we use dollars here.:)

  • @jetfoxproductions lol not even "your dad" will have a tri wing I think the screw and driver were invented and patented by Nintendo for manufacturing of their consoles.

  • @rockittt well that makes sense. but when i look in the garage it's kinda hard to believe. we got him a nail gun this christimas cause it was one of the only things he didn't have.

but anyway i found one on amazon i hope i can fix my dsi with it, good thing i still have the lite to fall back on. i use dsi for homebrew and emulators mainly.

  • @jetfoxproductions hah same here i use a ds lite with a flash card and my 3ds for normal use.

  • @rockittt i use the dsi because the touch screen on the lite is to fincky for the nes emulator, on the dsi it works fine, i got an older r4. i use it in my ds lite for colors.

  • -_- isn't it easier to open the DS up and clean it properly? (with qtips, brush and vaccum cleaner)??

  • @otharennaur your absolutly right it is easier to clean it dissasembled however you need a very special tri wing screw to open one up i got one from ebay for bout 2 pounds/dollars its also very difficult to put a ds back together when opened as the shoulders are fiddly to clip on to the switches, so id reccomend trying this before dissasembling the console.

  • 2:48 that's what she said

  • I was playing mario cart and i think i presed the r button to hard or something next day i played it did not work

  • @xplode225 when you pressed the r button too hard did anything happen to it externally such as it it stuck pressed down or does it feel like it is still pressable and clicks when you press it, also which ds do you have?

  • Thta wet tissue does not work both my L and R buttons dont work What do I Do?

  • @xplode225 (this is raichuzapz replying from my other account) this fix only works with shoulder buttons that have stopped working due to dust or dirt this fix will not work if the buttons have been physically damaged such as dropping or losing in an online game :) .can you give me more information on this? regarding how they stopped working.

  • the wet tissue paper thingie didnt work but the blow did , temporary fix , =| thanx dude

  • Dude!!! WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!!

I had my L button not working for some time, saw your video and was like "Aw, this totally won't work". I tried, and it works, PERFECTLY! Like, you know, a brand new DS!

    I'm impressed!

How did you figure this out?

  • @Buxiga lol yeah it can be the strangest things that work i found this out by looking at many scources of information such as youtube (but eveyone else talks like really really deep or wierd voice so i made this)

  • This happened to my DSi. I may have dropped my DS lite one too many time, heck there's even a crack on the hinge, but I've never dropped my DSi and the shoulder buttons still managed to stopped working. Luckily blowing them made them actually do something so I'm able to navigate menus again.

  • Blowing on Nintendo products: is there nothing it can't fix? Thanks for the video. I was getting ready to fork out more cash for a new DS, but thanks to you, I can keep using my brick!DS.

  • Here's the simple solution I have to offer for this. Follow his instructions, if that doesn't work? Send it back to Nintendo. If you have a warranty on it, then you get your free replacement. If you don't, and don't want to spend a boat load of cash? Open up that sucker, and clean it thoroughly, or replace the L button. Hell, maybe even do a case swap while you're at it. Replacement parts on eBay are cheap.

  • Holy shit, I thought you were throw your DS into the toilet and flush the problem.

  • Works! Thanks a lot! :]

  • Wow man! thanks alot, this really did come in handy!

  • dude my dsi L button is like completely broken i tried cleaning out the dust nothing its completely broken please help :(

  • @iSnowbAlLxx2 if your dsi button is completly knackered then i would first reccomend sending it back to nintendo for fixing although they will most likly think that it was a customer breakage so id recomend opening up the console itself and checking the buttonon the inside nindendo products are very easy to open up and check on so its easy to put it back together again if the switch for the button is intact then you can buy replacement parts on ebay for a very cheap price.

  • @raichuzapz will they fix it if it doesnt have warranty and the button is fine its just that if i press it nothing happen and they weird this is is that i have to break it some more... so it will work for like a day o__O

  • @iSnowbAlLxx2 nintendo will not fix your dsi if it has no warranty left, if the button is cosmeticly fine then try my fix(youve probably done that already) if that doesnt fix it then opening up the console(opening up dsis are easy to do and put back together) pulling the button off the switch sensor giving it a good ole clean putting it back on (you can also try using the button while the console is open it wont electricute you) if that doesnt work then the sensor switch is probably knackered!

  • @raichuzapz is there any way i can get more warranty on my dsi?

  • @iSnowbAlLxx2 it depends where you got it from if you got it from a specialist game store such as game or gamestation they offer warranty services for consoles that you can buy from their store basically its a slip that you buy and you show it to them ,I bought one from game for my 3ds which cost me £40 or slightly under it protects my console for 2 years plus the normal warranty so about 3 years the cost depends on the value of the console, I would reccomend asking the dealer about this matter

  • @iSnowbAlLxx2 hey u can still get your buttons fixed by nintendo but you'll have to pay them.

  • you lied stupid faget

  • thanks a lot that was pretty helpful. the right shoulder button on my dsi didn't work AT ALL, and I tried your way, and now it works like a dream!!!

  • srry...i must say this u looks funny when u blow like this: (O.O)

    just a joke k?

  • my friend shitt'ed on he's nds.....

  • thanks a mill man really appreciate it

  • i tryed something very simmilar to that, just a slight dif, but it only lasts for a few clicks. so u may wana find a dif way if u haaven't already

  • thx for the vid mate, had this problem exactly, great vid! :)

  • @ 2:54 hooray for OOT referance

  • omg thank you thanks man your the best now my R button works

  • u r explaining wat u did in the video ppl just watched...?????

  • @hammermaner its called doing a debreifing dumass

  • @raichuzapz um i tried this and it doesnt work. i dropped my ds lite a long time ago on the L button and it got jammed and i finally got it out but when i press it, it doesnt work and it doesnt make a clicking sound and it doesnt go back up after u press it :( i need to fix it so i can soft reset my ds! can you help?

  • @TheXxsuperxxchickxx unfortunatly this fix does not fix damaged buttons this fix resolves dust and small particles getting into the button, if your warranty hasnt expired send it back to where you got it for repairs( i guess it has expired cus its a lite) if not you will need to take the lite apart then fix the spring that is found in the button and maybie try and get the button back in order, dont worry lites are quite easy to take apart and put back together unlike most other electronicgadgets
