Great video! I love great whites. It was testing it trying to figure out what it was. Unfortunately, sometimes they test taste us and that's how we lose limbs or our life. They are the perfect predator. Just beautiful.
They actualy feel thinks with their mouths a they have no hands/paws, this what causes all the trouble with humans, they will "feel" you with their mouth to see what you are, decide if they want to eat you or not, because we a soft bodied, that "feel" will leave about 200 stitches! many people have been felt up like this and then left alone, if they can stop the bleeding they are fine.
1: never swim in cloudy water, 2: water with lots of bait, 3: where the river meets the sea
It's not a rudder, it is a prop cover. The props rattle in the water and attract the sharks. When they swim by or try to bite it, it cuts into them and scars them, so they fit these covers while the boats are stationary.
The shark's attracted to the boat propeller is because sharks can pick up tiny electrical impluses in the water, such as those made my the human CNS (central nervous system) and by the propeller. I've read that even if there are humans present in the water, the shark will often ignore them and go for the propeller, as shown by this video. This is why it can be dangerous to rescue someone from shark-infested waters by helicopter.
I love sharks so much, they're so lovely. It really annoys me when people view them as horrible monsters. This video shows that not all of them are as vicious as the cameras make them seem. This lovely shark was simply exploring, and was SCARED off by the person. If they were really man-eaters, that shark would have simply bit the person and dragged them under. >.>
ur absolutly right, half the time there's a shark attack, is cus they think its a seal or turtle, but a few great whites really are mindless man eaters.
Thanks, the camera I had at the time was limited to 20 second burst at 15 frames a second. Now I have a camera with mpeg4 30fps, next time only limit will be memory card.
^exactly! And woahhh, that's a brilliant video, cheers for sharing! Such amazing creatures. There's no aggression shown there...just curiosity at what's in IT'S waters! I worked with great whites in Gaansbai for a month, best thing i've ever done.
Why would you kill something that you went to see in the first place? And if you put yourself in a cage and then lower it into the ocean - you get whatever you deserve.
that's just too adorable.

now that is a modest tititle. some people would say that the shark was trying to kill everyone in the boat because it was half starved.
