  • I've been searching for this song the longest time

  • The lead singer actually moved to AZ to become a geologist. They all seems to have had a good run, then moved on to other things.

  • lol..i love all this "post grunge" stuff these guys, better than ezra, tripping daisy, sponge..lol...great tunes!!

  • girlie boy

  • I love and hate a lot of different kinds of music, popular or not, and I love these guys. I agree with some of the arguments made, to an extent, but these guys are still awesome. reminds me of teenage summers at the beach and camping. fuckin eh

  • hehehe i remember how cool i thought these guys were when i would watch this video on tv as a 10 year old... kinda think differently now.

though the singer is still pretty cool.

  • Sounds like jealousy to me. If you don't have anything nice to say...

  • It's his opinion, if people only said nice things just think of what that'd do to the music biz

  • someone post a rapidshare link so I can download this song... Thanks :)

  • gotta find the 'masochistic minstrel'.. it's literally one of the best videos ever made

  • yeah, can't help think of how big they would have been if not for geography

  • Gandharvas, Treble Charger, Slowburn, Killjoys, Sandbox, Pure, Rusty.... so many fantastic Canadian bands from the 90's that should have got more play than they did!

  • I've been on a canadian alternative rock hunt lately... I cannot for the life of me find that Slowburn video/song for "Hit the Ground", fantastic song!

  • yeah bro, great tune by Slowburn. Also really liked "whatever".

  • Holy feck, people remember Slowburn. I only remember 'Whatever.'

  • I uploaded Whatever by Slowburn if anyone was interested.

  • Dude I got that album!! Also the track 'Whatever'!!!!!

  • That song was fantastic. I managed to find the mp3 on Amazon's MP3 store, although the quality wasn't that great.

  • yeah, fuckin rusty!

  • OMG Everyone of those bands were great!! rusty live was as good as it gets!!!

  • I love this song

  • look and sound a little gay but happy and funny and good sounded song =)

  • this was a good band where did that go

  • My next door Neighbor Brian Ward has actual started with a new band this past year. Im pretty sure they are called The Noise and The Ghost, im not positive and they should have a cd out this year.

  • this joint is a modern classic, not to mention jago's jig throughout. who can resist a skinny white guy shimmying like that - dope shit.

  • i'll second that: great song

  • Great song.

  • i thought this was jane's addiction - sounds like perry farrel.

great song. I kept hearing this on the radio but could never catch the name of the band - now I've got it! great groove

  • Me too! Same thing, Jane's and the radio and everything...I wonder how many people have gone through this

  • haha totally!

  • As I understood it, this band or at the least lead singer was in a Jane's Addiction tribute band before they got to where they were.

  • I can totally see that in him.

  • I toured with this band, in 97

with HOLLY McNARLAND, 'n Mattew Good BAND

I must say if these Band's came from Hollywood CA

They would have been monster HUGE..fucking great great band and crew..i still see there tour mrg..now with a huge canadian Band that tour with buck cherry

  • does anybody have anycontact info on paul his brother is my sisters godfather and weve been trying to get a hold of him for some time

  • sounds like lou reed sorta

  • funny you should say that paul (the singer) was a huuuuuge lou reed fan when we used to hang out in residence at University of Guelph back in 91-92.

  • wow, no shit? funny, I was listening to this and it reminded me of lou singing 'sweet jane'.. awesome. ;)

  • I have a bet going with a friend about this song. Does anybody remember which single was released first, Downtime or Watching the Girl? You would not believe how hard it is to come across this information on the net.

  • Downtime was first

  • hear in on winnipeg radio all the time..Winnipeg the classic rock capital ..yeeeahhh

  • I loved this band since the orginal "First Day of Spring" appeared back in the ninety's. Think I still got the CD. Real glad that they're kicking it a bringing more kick ass jams.

  • Ahhh, a classic band that makes me feel even more proud to be Canadian

  • It's bettet than southern rock. Southern rock sucks.

  • "some are gonna emerge on themselves at last"... :)

  • *sigh* it's been WAY too long since I heard the Gandharvas... /happy.

  • this guy has great vocals

  • these guys were great, ahead of thier time for sure.

  • Love this song.

  • im from the uk and i love this band it was one my first albums i listened to whilst i snowboarded

  • Because stupid kids with zero substance and no music guidance buy does albums..this era was amazing in Canadian music

  • love this.

  • Why is it that Canadian radio and vidoe stations only play the ultra generic crap of Nickelback, and bands like this stay on the margins? This is good stuff. If you don't support your own, who will?

  • I agree so much. It's angers me to no end that I live less than hour away from where this band came from,, but no one in my high school has even heard of them.

The radios and tv stations really should give more to canandian bands, and canadians should be willing to at least give them a listen. There's alot of great canadian music.

  • Sadly, all the assholes in the 'industry' care about is the cocksuckers and fame whores on Canadian Idol. Thank God the show's been canceled-wish that the cancellation was permanent.

  • I found out about this song on a radio station in Calgary, Jack fm always plays it.

  • pretty dank

  • radio show in wpg had this on the 90's nooner,..totaly forgot abot this song

  • It makes me cry that MuchMusic doesn't give more airtime to local Canadian bands anymore, and basically became the MTV of Canada... and consequently is getting cities like Toronto adopted by the US.

Thankfully MusiquePlus isn't so bad... yet :-(

  • Awesome band, I can't believe there from london ont., so close to me.

  • i always thought this dude's voice sounded like Perry Farrell.

  • reminds me a LOT of Perry Farrell..

  • They're SOOOO good! Love them.....have since they first came out. (;

    Tremendously talented.

  • this video makes life better, kind of picks you up eh? great tune

  • ..I couldnt find this song for years ! this song was in my head since the days of "The Box" crazy...

  • love this song.... i couldn't find it for months because i thought it was a jane's addiction song... he sounds so much like perry farrell. it's insane.

  • does anyone have 'watching the girl'?

  • on youtube???

  • who plays tantra online? when i heard that this band's name was gandharva i was like WHOA THAT SOUNDS FAMILIAR (it's from the game tantra online)

  • I don't think so...LOL This band is from the 90's

  • oh...XD

  • Ya universal definitely censored his t-shirt. thats pretty gay of them, censoring gay t-shirts. ironic?

  • Fuckin eh, I love these guys.

Makes you miss the days when music wasnt always some lame record lable created trend shoved down your throat.

  • I realize that-my dumb.

  • World trade centers in the distance there.

  • Eh? This isn't NYC.

  • Not only do they not suck, I was in the studio listening to demos of these guys before they were the Gandharvas. When you first hear something that is important, you take notice and the hair stands out on the back of your neck.

These guys had bulletproof synergy. The record companies and whoever handled them failed horribly.

  • Amen to this comment. Its sad that a band like this ends up fading out when all we hear are TOOL sounding band wanna be's left and right.

What about Pinback? At least they are still churning it despite the MTV glory...

  • Dumb ass video, but this song saved the era

  • I had completely forgotten this song existed. I am pleasantly reminded.

  • The uncensored video is on their Myspace page, as well as all the rest of the videos, except for the excellent "Watching the Girl." But at least you can see "First Day of Spring", which is probably the best song of the 90's, and the video is pretty cool as well.

  • HaHa they shot this video here in PARKDALE.

  • It is a taste issue, and you have none.

  • Jet sucks worse. Kids today.

  • i love this song :D it takes me back to the good old days :D

  • Just funny with all the "gay" comments...

They've censored out his shirt from the original video.

    It actually says "Girlie Boy".

How do you like them apples?

  • motherfckin gay but i love the music its so positive xD

  • the guitar player brian ward is a great guy he just happens to be my next door neighbor and guitar teacher, they started in canada and went across the US.

  • eatpumpkin, you shouldn't make musically critical comments when you listen to music as terribly fake as Fall Out Boy and 50 Cent. My God. you can't believe people actually listen to music with well crafted melodies?

His dancing is questionable, but this is still better than the garbage in your profile.

  • His pants are too short...

  • the song is catchy, no he cant dance-but he looks like hes havin fun!

  • absolutely gay..............!!!!

  • Dude....... You listen to akon and your calling THIS gay????

Anyone see the blatant irony here?? haha

  • some just wanna smear themselves across something beautiful, dont let them bring you down, down.

  • man cant dance = )
