Indian IT has been a fraud from day one. Americans are TRAINING THEM. Most Indians' degrees are fraudulent and unverifiable. Most of them have what we would consider a 7th grade education. The IITs like most Asian academic institutions are highly underrated in the western media partly because it is difficult to fathom how a country with 1 billion people can produce academic excellence(and then have western leaders say it). The fact of the matter as echoed by the present administration is that quality of American education is falling and with the booming times in the east, the American degree looks increasingly devalued.
The key thing is that most of the IITs were modeled after western institutions. For example, many IITs enjoy close partnership with leading institutions like MIT. The IITs offer an excellent example of whats the best that can be achieved with high academic standards, something that the IITs can actually give back to the American system.
the IIT's are superior to any American intitution when it comes to certain fields, especially those of engineering and physical sciences. Further, the IIT's are not there to 'give back to the American system' in any way whatsoever. It is for intellectuals who wish to accomplish great things in their respective fields of study and opportunities to go abroad arise along with their degree(s). Speedy trial begins in Japanese woman's gangrape case
A Bihar court Thursday began the trial into the gangrape of a Japanese woman on April 16. Three people have been arrested.
The speedy trial began in the court of the chief judicial magistrate in Gaya, a day after police filed its chargesheet against the three accused.

Indian IT has been a fraud from day one. Americans are TRAINING THEM. Most Indians' degrees are fraudulent and unverifiable. Most of them have what we would consider a 7th grade education. The whole thing has been a fraud perpetrated by a poor country who wants what we have. In 1998 India's IT lobby NASSCOM *bought* PR in US media claiming "worker shortages". They want jobs here so they can send our money out of the country as fast as possible. $10,000 USD is a lot of $ in India.

The IITs like most Asian academic institutions are highly underrated in the western media partly because it is difficult to fathom how a country with 1 billion people can produce academic excellence(and then have western leaders say it). The fact of the matter as echoed by the present administration is that quality of American education is falling and with the booming times in the east, the American degree looks increasingly devalued.

The key thing is that most of the IITs were modeled after western institutions. For example, many IITs enjoy close partnership with leading institutions like MIT. The IITs offer an excellent example of whats the best that can be achieved with high academic standards, something that the IITs can actually give back to the American system.

the IIT's are superior to any American intitution when it comes to certain fields, especially those of engineering and physical sciences. Further, the IIT's are not there to 'give back to the American system' in any way whatsoever. It is for intellectuals who wish to accomplish great things in their respective fields of study and opportunities to go abroad arise along with their degree(s). I should know, my uncle was a graduate and later a professor of IIT Madras!
