  • How long did this take to build - amazing job btw :D

  • Would it make a stronger generator by replacing the wooden dowels with a ferite or iron core?

  • Just a thought... any noise is the sound of inefficiencies, I would suggest changing your controller with buffer capacitors in series with the coils in order to run a sign wave instead of a square pattern.

  • Hi! theDaftman! Have you got overunity? My speaking english is not well.

  • Hi I need some help, feel free to e-mail me at: bearcatk@hotmail.co.uk.

And send me a setup pic do I need ac or dc

Any relys or reed switchs I don't know ?????

well nice setup (what does a brige recterfier do ?)

  • cudent u gear the end jenorator up so it creates more speed thus more power ?? its a sugestion it may work

  • I have no idea about any of the but cant you pulse the load on and off

  • Unbelievably cool experiment. I really respect and admire your dedication and craftsmanship.

  • Amazing! Please continue your experiments good sir!

  • It will never self-sustain.

  • It was never the intention.

  • Would that mean the primary intention was to multiply the output of the power?

  • watch thane haice who has eliminate lenz law with his invention on you tube and i think you will have an idea eliminate yours on the generator

  • However, if you change how you do your coils you can reduce this effect thus bringing you VERY close to making it self sustaining.

  • mr daftman

I like the things you have been doing, most interesting and creative and fine workmanship.

However, the reason the motor slows down is because of the lenz effect. do a search in a search engine for "lenz's law"

Basically, any generator coil that you draw power FROM will create a magnetic field allmost equal to the magnetic field of the aprocking magnet, hence why it slows down and stalls.

  • Innovation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term innovation means a new way of doing something. It may refer to incremental, radical, and revolutionary changes in thinking, products, processes, or organisations. A distinction is typically made between Invention, an idea made manifest, and innovation, ideas applied successfully (Mckeown, 2008)...

  • try using a Lead Acid battery instead of your PWM current limiting powersupply. You will build volatage

  • volatage??

  • keep up the good work my good man ;)

  • Hey there,

I found a 24-part 'mother load' for you that you might be interested in. The real thing explained with nice, simple hands-on demonstrations. Enjoy!

  • To stop the load from pulling the system down as much, try revercing the magnetic fields on the windings. As with the ends lined up as N to N and S to S. this will do away with the field brake and reduce the holding of lost current from the input side and incress the out put power by about 8%. I hope this helps. This should also help on the motor it self.

  • i would like to know how much current you are pulling.. considering your input is 12 volts and your output is considerably more. i would venture to say your current has went down.. now if you take your votage out and multiply that buy the current that you have out then it would seem to me that your power coming in and going out would be the same.

    p(power)=E(voltage)X I (current)

    P(in)=E(in)X I(in) would equal P(out)=E(out)X I(out).

  • do u have diagram of your circuit for these motors??

i would like to know the circuit

  • Cool Vid daftman,,

  • what if you did not use permanent magnets, but instead calibrated the field/armature circuits to have opposing resonant peaks in ferrite cores matched at a particular angle of disposition at a particular speed of rotation?

  • *****

  • I had the same problem with my windmill generator, you may consider putting a relay on for the load power so you pulse it out. Thanks for sharing!

  • This maybe something I will consider when and if I can get it to self run. Thanks for your comment. Just built a small wind generator with the chap from next door for running is deck lighting.

  • You should watch the video's made by user ThaneCHeins.

Maybe you know his work already, he has found a way to make a simple motor with a similar wheel accelerate when using HV coils. Maybe you can use the principles in your work.

  • HI Daft, I know you've been doing this for a while now, but still just want to ask if you have tried the four barrels driving a mechnical load rather than pure electrical load. Regards, Jon

  • and I can see the wire size pf ypur generator is very small, what voltage and amperage were you trying to produce?

  • Milliamps at 100v, at about 3000 RPM so just about correct. Please remember this is only a test bed for the generators also remember the Newman motors only run on volts not amps \ wattage. (If all the spiel about the Newman is correct then it will run if not its consigned to the bin.) I will be rewinding all the Newmans to run at 65volts each, with a completely different control circuitry. It is my control circuitry that is dragging the currant at the moment not the Newmans.

  • yup, that's the claim, it's running just by voltage and not by amps but it is in fact running by amps as well only a very small amount of it :o) so is it consigned to the bin? What circuit do ou have in mind? Regards, Jon

  • What type of mechanical load did you have in mind.

  • Hmm, you know like pulley (ratio) system to boost the torgue then hooked it to your generator. I can see now it's running the genny from its own shaft and from the power it produced.

  • I was thinking the same thing. you have more than enough rpm to sustain a current at a higher torque. My thought tho is that the amount you reduce the ratio by to up torque you loose in power production. The question being what is the optimal rpm to power output?

  • What i've been seeing is motor efficiency but less on generator efficiency. I lack the resources but I would like to possibly see some experiments to this effect.

  • Allways better and better!
