  • Sawyers gift to Jack was way better then the gun Jack gave him.

  • I really think this one did it for me. Nothing can top it.

  • Tears in my eyes... The scenes with Jack And Sawyer are always the best.

  • This is one of the most powerful scenes of the entire show, and this is probably one of the only times I've liked Sawyer.

  • I always thought their scenes together were some of the best scenes of the show. Matthew and Josh have electric chemistry so there was always this tension between their characters (and I don't mean in a slashy way).

  • "ya see kids are like dogs, you knock em around enough, they will think they did something to deserve it" sawyer

  • Season 1 was so perfect. There was no time travel or donkey wheels or immortal people. It was just about a group of people trying to survive on an island together.

  • Music?

  • Sawyer calls Jack by his name. Twice.

  • He traded him a gun for a genuine act of courtesy.

  • 1 of the best scenes, not just in lost but ever! I like to think of myself as a mans man, but this still made me watery eyed, had to hide my emotion my my missus!! Love lost, cant wait to watch it again 1-6

  • they should have used this music more often. the only other time it was used was previously at the end of the charlie/heroin episode.

  • One of those moments early on where you cant help but love Sawyer...

  • great performance from Sawyer

  • Greatest show of all time..

  • love it

  • I love this scene.

  • One of the best scenes on the show. Just saying.

  • @mystikivanow I second that. It's scenes like this that make the show worth watching.

  • this scene is EPIC!!! i think we all agree on that one, regardless on what we might think about the ending.

  • 2:44 I lose it

  • fantastic scene

  • Too bad these moments were few and far between after season 2. Then it just turned into mindless crap, inventing mysteries and then not revealing the answer... ever.

  • @ThwartedVillainy

well it wouldn't be a 'mystery' if there were answers to it, would it now?

  • @venomouSjS Mysteries in tv shows, books, movies, really any media meant for consumption are only there for the relief of their eventual answer. Otherwise there's absolutely no point to them.

It would be like marketing a puzzle where none of the pieces fit together. Don't apologizing for bad writing and just accept that Lost isn't as amazing as you think it is.

  • @ThwartedVillainy

Fair enough. I guess it's in you to have answers but I'll leave it with an einstein quote which I quite like; "The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed."

  • @venomouSjS Ok... but Einstein was talking about the mysteries of the universe, not the mysteries of a show that was written by people. He enjoyed that knowledge about the vast infinity of space was limited, not that a TV show setup multiple plot points that never paid off.

It's really not at all the same thing. I don't mean to come off as rude, but using a quote from Einstein in the context of Lost is pretty over the top, don't you think?

  • @ThwartedVillainy it's conceptual. The comparison was in principal and not narrative. It's exactly what you said it is. A TV show yet you expect answers for everything? Name "one" story where you have ALL the answers? Bet you can't.. LOST is based on mysteries, yeah, some exaggerated but there for entertainment. If you want 100% logic; try the science channel.. not 100% accurate but close enough ;)

  • @venomouSjS Almost every Hitchcock film, every Christie novel, every episode of Sherlock Holmes, every episode of any crime and punishment drama on TV, etc.

They all set up the mystery as a plot point only to reveal the answer later. Without revealing the answer, but without a good reason not to, there is ABSOLUTELY NO POINT in watching it.

Nobody's talking about logic, I'm talking about terrible script writing. The writers for Lost had no idea what they were doing. JJ Abrams even apologized.

  • @ThwartedVillainy I'm not reading the other threads, so I'm not agreeing/disagreeing with anything else besides this post.

Dude! It was like chimps on LSD were writing the script after a while! When it got to be the last season, and time was running out, I started to get more and more pissed off, cause I KNEW there was no freaking way they could ever answer all the damn questions they set up... sucks. This started off as SUCH a good show!! :(

  • @atikker Ok WHAT didnt they answer?? Im listening.

  • @ThwartedVillainy YOU have no idea what youre talking about, JJ didnt Appolagise nor did he need to, They answered EVERYTHING, State what they didnt answer, and i will prove you wrong.

  • @smokeyhatch14 Mostly nobody replies to you because they arent obsessed like you seem to be. Stop defending it like it's your fucking baby, it's just a show and it has flaws. LET IT FUCKING GO.

That being said, here are just a few unanswered questions.

Why did the others take Walt and why did they want him? WTF is the smoke monster?! It makes mechanical noises, but it's ancient? And why did it kill Echo?! How is Dharma still dropping food and supplies onto the island? The timer difference? etc

  • @ThwartedVillainy I dont need to defend it, im doing the same as you, im talkig about lost, obviously our motivations are different, i understood lost, got ALL the answers and think its the greatest peice of fiction EVER created, you didnt get it, didnt notice the answers, therefore criticise, ALL your rediculous questions WERE ANSWERED. 1. Two reasons, first because they couldnt have children, second because he had a gift which they wanted to harness.

  • @ThwartedVillainy 2.The smoke monster is comprised of Electromagnetic fog(Real phenomenon) It was a metaphor for the pure evil/darkness that posessed mib's consciousness. and the noises of chains ect were a metaphor as he was "Chained" to the Island. 3.Because Eko refused to be manipulated, and he wasnt a candidate therefore vulnerable. 4.Because Dharma stations were still running off island, plus he island has time anomalies.5.Because of the electromagnetic energy that surrounds the island.....

  • @smokeyhatch14 1. That's not a reason to kidnap a teenager... and what gift? 2. I don't know what kind of fucked up chains you've heard, but that wasn't the sound of chains. It was like mechanical scratching or etching or something. 3. SO WHY DIDN'T IT KILL HIM THE FIRST TIME!? 4. How were Dharma stations still running when the project was dismantled and the Dharma employees on the island had been dead for years? That makes no sense. 5. "electromagnetic energy" doesn't mean "magic".

  • @ThwartedVillainy This comment just proves how little you know about anything let alone LOST. First hewas 10, second "What gift" ??? Did you even watch LOST, listen to smokey again it has lots of noises and one is a chain noise, what noise dids you want it to make? it wouldnt matter you would still complain. It didnt kill him the first time because it was scanning his memories, his motivations to see if he could be manipulated....SAeriously you didnt watch it lol...

  • @ThwartedVillainy No the "Dharma project" wasnt dismantled, there were still stations off island doing their thing for many years. "electromagnetic energy" doesn't mean "magic". ARE YOU SERIOUS, you really think this is a made up thing???Any experiment to do with Timetravel, Teleportation, Psionic abilities, Ghosts ect ect" will include Electromagnetism. lololololol

  • @ThwartedVillainy NO HE DIDNT lollolololol. If you didnt get the answers you were looking for thats YOUR FAULT, because i can answer everything.

  • Would these two just get it over with and kiss already?

  • one of my favourite scenes :D

  • THIS is what Lost was really about, moments like these not some "Who built the statue?" crap

  • excellent scene

  • LOL Jack's dad is named Christian Shepherd?

  • @ayim715 yes

  • hands down one of the greatest moments of lost ever. such a powerful scene with so much emotion and great acting. i LOVE jack and sawyer, i think they have the potential of buliding a great friendship or alliance or something but it sucks that theyre probablly never going to develop a friendship cuz kates always in the way. i say screw her, Jawyer ftw <3

  • One of my favorite scenes. Great show.

  • Probably one of like.....three actual bro moments Jack and Sawyer have throughout the series, other than that their usually just giving each other grief or beating each other up lol

  • See kids are like dogs. You knock em around long enough, they'll think they did something to deserve it.. this scene gives me chills!!

  • I may be going out on a limb, but I consider this the greatest scene in Lost.

  • Best.Scene.Ever.

  • 100% LOST

  • scenes like this are seriously why LOST is amazing. really great acting when kate's not being a whiny bitch.

  • SO true

  • @atikker I agree with you. That was a great scene :D

  • Such an amazing scene

  • That hits so close to home :)

  • why was your dad a doctor in a bar in sydney? lol..just kidding

  • @QuieroGuerra hits close to home for me too :)

  • nice man! its so emotional scene ... :D

That track was used in season 3 either...when Charlie was going to jump out the boat in the final episode...

sry MarcelSSSSS but i do not remember the title

  • i was so upset when Sawyer kept his mouth shut like a couple episodes before. I was so glad for Jack knowing what his dad wanted to tell him

  • Exactly right.

  • Great scene.

  • How Track used in this scene? Soundtrack 1? Are you know name of this track? Please HELP!

  • And people say Sawyer has no heart!! Aww he is so cute!!

  • Words can't be used to describe how good this is, because language has limits and is better suited for describing what is not, and falters when dealing with something that so completely is.

  • maybe its because you don't know enough words

  • @pimpazoid Shit man that was incredibly eloquent...

  • My favorite too. Such a good scene.

  • And i'd like to agree with with javabeansalmon. I am 100% straight 17 year old. ;)

  • This is my favourite scene in the entire show. Call me sentimental, but it's just so touching.

  • One of the reasons Lost is such a great TV show. Lots of memorable scenes with good acting.

  • everytime i watch scenes like these in lost i get teary eyed. IM 100% straight 16 year old.

  • then u must be a fag.

  • nope. 100% straight. Gorgeous girlfriend for the past 2 years and not a virgin.

its the only show i do this for. cuz its so well done and the music is really good

  • what a great scene! real emotional

  • I am really hoping that when Jack gets back to the island Sawyer will punch him for leaving then hug him for coming back.

  • this scene is just AWESOME!!!

  • sawyer allways gets back...
