my name Jose legalos Pundaapu. I am Mexican man and after living in USA i am now going home to Mexico. I want to invite my American friends to Mexico and to live there. You will enjoy cos its cheap and food is great.
@karapesuthu you forgot to mention some things about Mexico: the shortage of jobs, the lack of sanitation, a poor education system, high crime rates, and an overall low quality of life.
Wow... so the Tea Party is "racist" and "extremist"? That's a pretty major judgement to be making so casually and unequivocally, when the reality of it as at the very least highly debatable. It's okay if you have a political agenda... just be upfront about it instead of disguising it as established fact.
in 2006 so many links related to my awards on many sweepsteake' websites was blocked for being"questionable, artistic"or for the reasons like "profanity, gambling". everybody knows there are hundreds of casinos&hundreds of different type of lottery exist. everybody knows the guy who walked between twin towers(WTC)with a robe and stick. everybody knows tens of porn contest exist. if it wasn't for personal reason, why my information was deleted from those sweepsteake' websites?

@Ginger77191 fuck journeyman pictures' propaganda; it's not all gloom & doom. I'm a naturalised american & i'm doing great. got 5 figures in my account & 6 figures in my roth IRA GOD BLESS AMERICA!
@setstocksasha god bless nothing in the country. Most people in my situation are the same. Gainfully employed (but no raises for at least 5 years). Completely unable to go back to school (no money). Paying bills, mortgages, everything knowing that you will never make enough $. Also knowing that you don't "know somebody who knows somebody" so you can move up. It's a scheme. We are stuck here. We are going nowhere. Yes, I got a BS degree, but had to go to work (no masters). I hate this situation.
I pity those dumbasses at 21:45. It's unbelievable that they don't understand that THEY are the lower class they so readily attack. If you are living paycheck to paycheck, YOU ARE NOT MIDDLECLASS
u people act like everyone had mansions, yachts and swimming pools and then the recession dried all that up. Everything was already fucked before this so called recession hit in 2008. The wages for the bottom half was stagnant or dropping for decades.
The winegrowers at the end and the journalists don't realize that america is under siege. The insiders in washington connected to the controllers; bankers-oil-hollywood are destroying us from the inside out to turn us into a third world country.
All this American Dream stuff is pure crap. Much of what we've enjoyed here the past 40-50 years has been an anomaly, supported by a printing press.
46 million people collecting food stamps, 15-20% real unemployment, huge budget and trade deficits. We have went from a superpower to a banana republic in less than 50 years.
I'm sorry, but many of these people are total idiots. They don't even know the difference between NEEDS & WANTS.
Racist, socialist, shite documentary. Everything is about government rescuing us all. Did you guys not realize it was the state that got us into this mess? Does Fannie and Freddie ring a fucking bell?
To the guy that lost 800K+... You could have cashed out of the stock market, bought a decent home, furniture, wardrobe, vehicle(s) and still had money for your childrens higher education (which is also in a bubble), but instead, you decided to risk all of it trying to get more... Don't bitch about losing it when you made the decision to gamble... Obviously his stocks were high risk if he lost EVERYTHING...
Even as a kid, I kinda saw this coming. My Father is no Money expert but, what he taught me and how things work as far as business is concerned, I knew the party would would soon end, and it is. I feel so sorry for the youth of today. Hopeless, distraught, cynical and desperate. We were promised change. All we got was more of the same. More war, more debt, more separation between the rich and the poor. I am now one of the poor.
Nice video. The remark the Tea Party had racist views was out of bounds. The Tea Party does not have racist views as their foundation. The Tea Party was the one group that woke the sleeping country up to fight to be great again. Every person should thank them.
America makes me feel lucky to be a Canadian. I really hope they work things out. They need to regulate their banking, decrease military spending and socialize their healthcare.
@urantivirus Hopefully we should stop providing "defense budget" for Europe and all around the world that politicians like Ron Paul, Robert Gates, and Leon Panneta point out that providing defense budget for Europe and all around the world bring proprieties there. Most of Europe said they wanted all the U.S. military bases out in Europe but their politicians begged us to stay. That's what needs to be decrease from U.S. military budget. Time for others to pay for their own defense this time.
Excuse me, but the banks are not being paid back, by you- like you promised you would pay them back- for the house they bought for you! Stop lying to yourselves, and to each other.
no offense to anyone, but people are just spoiled, no one wants to work and everyone wants everything for free. this video makes a good point of this if you can read between the line.. credit cards, loans, stock markets etc.etc. if you cant afford it you shouldnt buy it. its as simple as that.
those structures have been always been focused to shift the wealth from many to a few. I know its not fair and irresponsible. How the f@@@ you still blaming poor class for all you troubles without seeing where u wealth ended up... Carry on
" our society needs to focus more on the US on us". and a lot of lower incomes get more help from the government then they do. wow.. I guess all that comfortable living at one time, ppl werent paying attention very much. the war on unions, apparnt. many ppl think they totally useless anyway so they didnt object very much. whose our society? the people the government? the interbreeding bt corporate power, financial institution, and politicians its hard NOT to notice.
@mballzhari I totally agree with you. not to mention 2 people are at work, instead of one and still no savings, beraly making pay check to pay check. But propaganda is been quite successful at diverting attention away from system that benefits small% at the expense of millions.
Our educated elite worships the financial markets as a source of success and money, but the financial markets have failed. They have proven themselves to be incompetent, led by incompetent and naive people.
AND to the republican below: if the top 90% of our wealth hadn't been funneled from the wealthiest 10-20% to the top .04% (thanks, GOP) over the last 50 years we wouldn't have 53% of Americans BROKE. jackass. Read a book and quit listening to propaganda. Facts and statistics are there to support what I am saying. The worst part? You don't qualify as the top 10%, let alone the top .04%, so you Sir are not only being raped yourself, you are VOTING FOR IT! What kind of masochistic world do you com
@MrFullyCharged Ah what a shame, it couldn't happen to a better country, it makes me feel all warm & cosy inside, perhaps if you paid more attention the the morons you elect this wouldn't have happened, self inflicted false flag terror attacks, a marauding nation of power hungry elitests all destroying your country by design, you've infected every country you've touched with your philosophy of consumerism & comercialism you've attacked 50 countries since WW2 without declaring war my heart bleeds
Wow 120k a year and they are hardly getting by, Australia life is more expensive and you can live comfortably with 120k a year, some of this people are full of shit
@quadcatfly sorry no thanks a kleptocracy and too many black people doesn't appeal you're all to keen to start chopping each other up with maschettes, maye when you've all been wiped out by the aids virus i'll consider it.
There is always someone who is always greedy its ala based on greed and selfishness, and no matter how much money you make they always make it up to you by jacking up the prices on everything and that's why people never
There is always someone who is always greedy its ala based on greed and selfishness, and no matter how much money and make a always make it up to you by jacking up the prices on everything and that's why people never
by the way, oh, welfare don't sound like such an evil thing, now, huh? I guess now you see what it likes not to be able to "make ends meet". Homeless...still feel like homeless people "want to live that way", and take welfare "just so they can don't have to work"? How does it feel, now that you're homeless too? Still feel like homeless people get what they deserve? Suffer, mother fuckers!
Socialised health care, anyone? Or is that still a "commie thing"? Dumb fucks.
@shotbyjesse70 well said, its a shame the majority of the american population are mentally castrated then this would not have happened, ppl only care for themselves and now its come to bite them in the ass and they dont like it. something like 50% of the population have guns and its about time they used them and strung up obama clinton bush and co up, end the fed, vote for somone with some sense like ron paul, jesse ventura or alex jones and kick out the elite zionist scumbags WAKE UP USA
5:39 narrator: ...here you can find people that still treasure the original Pioneer ideals, hard working yet wayward freethinkers".
Hah, that's funny. And who lived in Vermont, before the "Pioneers" moved there? Some kind of people...uh, kind of fuzzy...who were they now..? Oh yeah, that's right, some other people called INDIANS. And THEN the Pioneers, brought some other people called SLAVES, to work the land they stole from the INDIANS. That's what you GET, USA liars! Paybacks a bitch, huh?!?
And stop saying "American" Middle Class. It's the United States Middle Class. The US doesn't own all of the Americas. Yes, they may be obese enough to take up all the space of the Americas, but they manage to squeeze their stinky, sweaty, smelly bodies into just part of North America.
All of these morons deserve their lot in life. They continuously purchase crap made in China, have cell phones with every possible feature, and relied on the housing market to make their millions. Let them rot!
minimum wage is not diff in every state you moron its 7.50 for the whole country that 14,000 a year i know alot of you cant do math because your american and stupied and rich people are bitchin about that its sad how what rich people have done to america and no one cares.
Live within your means, not within your desires. Fiscal responsiblity and economic accountability sure go a long way, especially when you have no other choice and limited opportunities. Just ask the lower-class.
@nuxable Yup. Some of this is most of our own fault too. Everybody is looking to save a few dollars and shop at you know where.... I try not to though.
The first step to success and having savings (as opposed to just debt) is to stop thinking like an American. Our mentality has hurt our finances as much as the stock market crash. My friend is a nurse who is married to a lawyer. The husband runs his own firm so he makes about 170K/year. She brings is another 50K. So together is a household income of about 220K/year. They burned through all that money and lost their house because they couldn't meet mortgage payments...
Find a Walmart or Target in VT. The same real estate agents has been selling homes for hundreds of years. The houses have personalities and love to read Harry Potter in thier off time while the family is off on vacation to Sugar Loaf. How dare they have to worry about money and step out of their homes to vote and. How dare they have to shop and compare prices... coupons? The nill voice narrative fosters doom for Wii offspring. This must stop! Fuck Tea Baggers.
New Englanders cant go snowboarding... oh no! How will the rest of the world live with itself. Just a car for Xmas for the token trust fund baby and not a BMW. We have to stop the carnage!!!
@TheQualityclips I am permanently and totally disabled and make a little over $1,000 a month, after my husband walked out on me and left me with all the bills, I had no choice but to go to Social Services for food and Medical Care. As I sat in the office the majority of people were not here legally, but since they had their children here, they qualified for the same services as I did. I get $16.00 a month in food stamps! I get less in food a month than a prisoner!
It is time you hit rock bottom. You reap what you have sown with your American greed calling it a dream at the expense of the rest of the world. You have gone to every country and torn it up then walked away now you are on your knees where you should have gone a long time ago. You would not be in this mess now..
I have a HUGE problem digesting financial complaints from a couple living in Boston who earn $10,000 a month. There are plenty of large, secure, LUXURY, highrise & brownstone 2-3 bedroom apartments in excellent Boston neighborhoods renting for one week of their income, 25%. MANY Americans are paying between 50-70% of their wages JUST for housing. As far as food? Shop at ALDI'S. Buy recycled (used!) furniture and clothing. These people are CLEARLY only "poor" in the money MANAGEMENT department.
@mballzhari Sorry, just trying to help.. Ok, so Ban facebook, ban myspace, ban twitter and also put some incentives for companies to employ Americans.
None of this, save for the people in Vermont, is an example of true financial hardship. It is the product of excessive self-indulgence. Banks are certainly not helping us, but America did much of this to itself.
If we could all learn to use less water, fuel, electricity, and goods; recycle, re-use and moderate our consumption of goods, then we wouldn't have such trouble.
Example: More than 25% of all the food in the USA is wasted or thrown away. We waste so much stuff. Do the math!
These pictures of the "struggling family" living in beautiful homes with top-notch everything makes me ill. People that own vineyards and who lost their mansions because of bad decisions are not struggling, they are stupid! Everyone needs to learn to moderate their intake of EVERYTHING.
Building and inventing worked in the early 1900s because THEY WORKED HARD to make it happen.
While I won't argue the debt crisis, everyone wants to live like a king and that's just not realistic.
If we are in debt y don't we cut back and quit helping other countries and cancel on researching on stupid stuff that we don't need. Were too late anyways so it doesn't matter. I wonder wits gonna happen when we don't have are money by the deadline. Will some please help me and tell me?
$120,000 in a city like, new york or boston, etc is nothing. you are middle class at best on that salary in those cities. it's the equivalent of 30 or 40,000 in the suburbs. and with children and a home. it's impossible to make ends meet.
If we want to rid ourselves from the international banking cartels who run the FED, if we want to repudiate government's overreach into every corner of our lives, if we want to reassert our rights as Americans & have the govt. work for us, if we want to critically reign in executive power its never-ending wars that were fostered by our always expanding military empire; in other words, if you're finished with the mess of Obama, the Dems & the GOP, then please consider Ron Paul in 2012.
I'm surprised people still want an "American Dream". It's a fantasy that never existed. Most people can't afford to have kids, a house or take vacations. These aren't need they are wants. I hope Americans realize their spending is the problem.
I don't understand how a family making $120,000 annually can't even pay their bills. Once again, the problem is their spending and their wants. Deal with the needs.
Partly of the problem will be actually the war on terror by MR BUSH HIMSELF. Seriously at least the clinton administration was able to promote the economy at that time. I can see that Obama is really trying his best to clean up all the shit and mess that MR GINKCUF BUSH left.
@amosgoh85 I completely agree. It WAS Mr. Bush who authorized the debt ceiling to be raised to fund the war of terror. Unfortunately, what most people fail to realize is that Bin Laden and Sadam have already been replaced. An they will try to strike again. Billions of dollars wasted. I pity Obama. He is trying to clean up a big pile of shit left by Bush.
Americans now complain about bad times, but they don't try to cut their spendings in an intelligent way, eat less (they got so fat during last 20 years) and get cars that consumes less fuel. They want to eat as much and consume in the same way they used to do before! The Crisis hasn't changed their mentality, they need to keep up this way until they realise the shit they live in.
I am an American, but I never desired this middle class life of wife and kids. Its a strange business partnership between two people to get married and be normal. Its not very romantic and somewhat robotic. I consider these people as having been liberated from a warped mode of life that is out of synch with the planet. I recommend that they buy smaller refrigerators and throw out their microwaves and TV sets.
Even now there are still jobs. People just won't take them because they have too much pride to work at a resturaunt or a grocery store. Also we are too spoiled getting luxuries and going into debt for them, that we dig the hole for ourselves. We will spend money on a motorhome yet we skip meals, skip showers and put off buying clothes in order to own that motorhome.
This guy isn't being totally honest, because if his and his wife earn (combines) what he states, either she or he is spending money on drugs, useless trips, movies, concerts, etc....
Have to laugh at all the wealthy little onclaves that are now becoming ghosttowns, since no "outsiders" can afford to come there any longer to waste their money on over-priced junk.
Vermont people? Free-thinkers? Give us a break please . . . they have all the
You are doing your children a disservice sending them to most colleges in America. Unless they have an outstanding skill that outshines everyone & they can get noticed and accepted into an Ivy League school or a handful of west coast schools(USC, Berkeley, Stanford, etc) , college is a big waste of money. Check out Richard Grove of TragedyandHopDOTcom , "Peace Revolution Podcast, ep. 32: "How College Subverts Students / Dumbing us Down for Profit and Power." Its a podcast worh listening to.
120 K a year? That used to be upper middle class? NOw it's 'struggling middle class'? Even in todays psychotic bubbles, tuitions in state colleges are 8k a year. At 120 k a yr, I can't see how they'd be having problems. SOmeone is spending unnecessary money, or they;re living above their means. 9 out of 10 people w/ 1/2 a brain should be able to handle that. So much stuff people buy is unncessary.
@mondocrat You would be surprised. What if you don't want a state education? LIberal arts schools are 40-50k a year. Plus you have to consider some states are waaaaay more expensive just to live in. 200k home in Texas is a literal shack in California
Aspiration often leads to suffocation. That's not rocket science. Yet so many keep drowning themselves to "succeed". Lower the bar, folks! Sure, the TV says it's noble to aim high, but it's also highly unlikely you'll ever hit your mark. Expecting less and appreciating it more is a far more realistic and quicker path to happiness than wasting a lifetime trying and failing. "Anyone can make it in America" is a myth, financially speaking.
The very fact that they're middle class and not lower class tells you that they're not that bad off. Why not make a documentary on the poor of the USA?
@ESAMMEX That would be 14.022EUR for five people, meaning about 2.800EUR pear head? Being on welfare in Germany you get 4.380EUR/year for a grown up a little less for kids plus the rent of course. At least around here it would be impossible to life on that amount of money with 5 people.
@cc10121492 Minimum wage is different in every fucking state you half-wit and that was a gestimate not even including over time. Think before you speak you moron.
I'm an empathetic Ex-Pat US Citizen and I look at this stuff in unbelief. You're having a hard time on 120k a year? Give it a rest... something that I see from living outside is the push for a university education. I fully belief in continuing education and you can do it in the awesome libraries you have, you don't need a degree unless it really requires it e.g. engineer, doctor, lawyer. the gov't has duped the people into getting into all of these loans for degrees taht get you know where!
america has been famous for excluding a huge percentage of their citizens from opportunity this is what happens when genius is not nurtured inequality will always lead to failure as a whole
They over spend! People have learn to stay within their own reach!! Not buying 40k car, not using their homes like credit card, or getting stupid timeshare!
your parents seemed wealthier because they didn't need a flat screen tv, microwave, sub zero refrigerator, dish washer, washing machine, mobile phone, SUV, credit cards, all types of insurances and subscriptions. Blame yourself not the bank if you can't live on 120k a year.
I swear the message I get from these videos...is if you get married and have kids you are screwed...in other words, don't spread your life too thinly and you will be fine financially...keep it simple...360
Wich to me is the worst of it all cause what happens when its no longer intresting for your own life to have kids and start a family... that means to few children will be made for the future wich on the long term means even more hardschip on the economy since kids are the future of any country.
However expectations are also a problem, its madness that a family with 120k income cant go arround, and that can only be so by living beyond your means.
Few people are mentioning health care.I am pretty well off and have no debts and average income but my health care premiums are rising and my co-pays are rising. It is bleeding me and I am still healthy. What happens when I get sick ? I heard that 90 % or more of aging Americans lose all their assets to the health care system. We need socialized health care and yet people listen to leaders who say that its no good.We are the only developed nation that does not have it.
they are forcing subliminal, tools are news media, sales promotion, etc. "good marketing is to sell stuff that nobody needs!" you can create markets, people are lazy and love to consume prepared "solutions" without thinking about the "why". it´s hilarious, even smart freinds of mine believe f. e. that in chocolate is milk, because commercial say "with the best from 5 liters milk in it", and although i showed them on the ingrend. that there is no milk inside they believe the commercials.
You're quick to blame China for taking jobs - have you thought about why the companies outsourced? We as consumers wanted cheaper goods and services - hence we too played a part.
if this is what people called struggling in the western countries.. please visit counties like india, indonesia, african countries. then we can talk about what the word ´struggle ´´ means
Yes its starvation in third world countries but I don't live there. I live here, I have to pay the hydro the gas the water the rent buy the groceries at the supermarket pay the insurance pay the gas for the vehicle ect. And has for the comment on "I make 15000 a year and I'm Okay" Where do you live?...... with mom and dad?
Synpathy for the .middle classes. on hard times....no way....the middle classes go comfortable because they ignored and battered the poor....taste of poverty will maybe widen their minds and lesson their greed !!!!
also you have no RIGHTS that are Constitutional law, federal rules of court, or basic access to legal representation to get at those Constitutional Lawful Legal Rights ‘’so stated in the US Constitution’’.
Ask yourselves why a criminal has a right to a free appointed lawyer, but you in any civil case calling on the application of ‘Current Constitutional citizen lawful Rights’’ no lawyer will be made available to you. You must pay a lawyer the criminal need not pay.
Americans reject sharing wealth because there's no sense of national identity or common purpose here. There never has been. Obama is not a "socialist" contrary to what Tea Party idiots like to spout. High unemployment + trillions of dollars in debt + record profits for wallstreet firms=right wing paradise...why are they mad? I feel zero sympathy for a homeless bagger who'd rather point the finger at political adversaries than admit his own failure in pursuit of an unreasonable "dream".
We fear losing all that we have worked for they fear they fear loosing all that we have worked for. The last thing they want is for our country to be a United front.
The giant banks leave a path of destruction in their path. Closed schools, Public programs and services cut...you watch the news. There are more of us then them we cannot count on the corporate entities to bail us out however they can count on us to harvest. Americans are being farmed. Out of all of America a small minority of greedy individuals are ruling with no care in the world.
Don't blame the government either, The cooperate sector, banks and such are to blame they have pressured the US government into trade deregulation. The Government is basically a puppet to huge banks. These banks are very greedy and in control they are addicted to money much the same as a Heroin addiction they will do anything to gain more.
Although it seems fine now the economic struggle is like a disease that continues to grow. Being content and and thankful is fine but the issues grow and must be dealt with. The economic down turn in US has effected the whole world yes you may have a job now and it's okay but the future is uncertain.
It's not just the US, here in Europe things are very tough, even if you have a reasonable profession .; inflation is is high and the money just doesn't cover basic needs, let alone planning for the future..I have to say though 40 to 120 thousand per year doesn't sound that bad..is that gross or net ?
Yes,the situation's got so bad that even the Americans are suffering, lol! Oh,hell,I don't mean to sound churlish, but seriously, when folk are unable to survive on $120 p/a then it really is bad.But really,ALL of us should take a look at just how bad it is,& I mean REALLY bad, when you consider the situation in other countries where folk are'nt even sure when they're going to eat next! Well, just think about it!
"120k boohoo I'm sooo poor that I cant buy a Porsche, I can't buy 30 lacoste shirts a day" -.- whiny bitches...they should move to Haiti and experience TRUE poverty.
The reason this is happening is because most americans dont give a shit about our government and all the dumb money they spend. the little we do know is spoonfed propaganda by the american media giant. We let this happen because we are blind and unaware. If no one wakes up the US Government will become destructive towards their people and towards the world.
You bozos do not understand what really killed our economy. What destroyed the American dream isn't irresponsible consumer who didn't save enough or didn;t manage the personal finances. It's the whole fractional reserve banking/money creation combined with wall street greed that globalized all sectors of our economy. That system is only meant to transfer wealth from low/middle class to the richest 1%
The problem with the American Dream is that it was a SELFISH dream...White picket fence, two car garage, Two kids and a dog...WTF is that? Is THAT REALITY???!!! Is THAT the meaning of LIFE? No, it's not, but that's what we all have been chasing for 100 years like a bunch of idiots. What we SHOULD HAVE been doing is EXPANDING OUR MINDS and SPIRITS. EVOLVING. We can still turn it around, but we've got to WAKE people UP!!!!
It's not going to get any better as long as the Federal Reserve is still standing. Higher prices and devastating credit bubbles will never end and most people will never retire because of this.
My family and I are making it. We're very fortunate, even though my father was just laid off because of our state government's shutdown. I'd just tell people to count your blessings before you judge.
people are such babies about the recession. I live in a bachelor apartment and spend like 100 bucks a month on food. I spend 30 a month on hydro, and 50 on phone and internet. I live completely simple and 'poor' but I'm just fine with it. The real problem is humans being consumerist zombies in general.
I like Jouneyman
But please,
try living in Central Asia.Turkmenistan Uzbekistan Tajikistan on 100 a month...if that.

Wow... so the Tea Party is "racist" and "extremist"? That's a pretty major judgement to be making so casually and unequivocally, when the reality of it as at the very least highly debatable.

Don't bitch about losing it when you made the decision to gamble... Obviously his stocks were high risk if he lost EVERYTHING...

More war, more debt, more separation between the rich and the poor. I am now one of the poor.

Deal with the needs.
ivorine1981 7 months ago 2
Partly of the problem will be actually the war on terror by MR BUSH HIMSELF. Seriously at least the clinton administration was able to promote the economy at that time. I can see that Obama is really trying his best to clean up all the shit and mess that MR GINKCUF BUSH left.
amosgoh85 7 months ago

However expectations are also a problem, its madness that a family with 120k income cant go arround, and that can only be so by living beyond your means.

Part 3
The giant banks leave a path of destruction in their path. Closed schools, Public programs and services cut...you watch the news. There are more of us then them we cannot count on the corporate entities to bail us out however they can count on us to harvest. Americans are being farmed. Out of all of America a small minority of greedy individuals are ruling with no care in the world.

part 2
Don't blame the government either, The cooperate sector, banks and such are to blame they have pressured the US government into trade deregulation. The Government is basically a puppet to huge banks. These banks are very greedy and in control they are addicted to money much the same as a Heroin addiction they will do anything to gain more.

Although it seems fine now the economic struggle is like a disease that continues to grow. Being content and and thankful is fine but the issues grow and must be dealt with. The economic down turn in US has effected the whole world yes you may have a job now and it's okay but the future is uncertain.

"The American Dream" is just a saying made up by plantation owners. It has never existed and never will!
