I updated to 4.1u with new super mario bros wii and after the update the disc hannel prompted me to update again with the same game, i accepted and it gave me an error halfway through, now everytime i put that disc into my wii, it gives me the same error, curious thing is, it only happens with that disc and evrything else is ok, i can play, and access HBC and everything, well good thing that disc was a backup. Anyway, 4.1 still let's you install homwbrew trhough HBC, like, say, neogamma?

I have this hack on 4.1u but my sd card doesn't seem to work. It loads the hbc and all fine but I can't access chanels or save data. Anyone any ideas?

oh! guys and if the homebrew stops working after any installation (happened to me) just reinstall it with the banner bomb, the backup and everything else kept working all the the time

i did the same with my wii, and it works fine. its bircked now, but not because of updating, i think it was because i installed preloader when i had system menu 4.1 )=

yep, but i recommend u 2 find the waninkoko updater. First the 4.0u if u don't have it yet, and then the 4.1u, if u try the 4.1u without the 4.0 the installation fails ;)

Ok, I have HBC and Wad manager installed wii, which is on a 3.2 firmware.

Can I update my Wii to firmware 4.1u, and continue to use my Backup launcher? If I remember, my version of the backup launcher when I first got it only worked on 3.2.

Also, I remember In order to use my Backup launcher I had to downgrade and upgrade to a custom CIOS.

I would like to upgrade my firmware to 4.0 or 4.1 cos i found the sd update very helpfuly for my wiiware or vc games. i want to know if i make this update from internet it will be ok for me and i want to asicurate that i dont lose my hbc. Hey man, awesome info. I have Wii system 3.2U and have the HBC 1.0.1 and running 0.3 gamma. If I do the Wi system update to 4.1U that is needed for Wii Sports Resort, will I lose my HBC? I only use the backup launcher.

Anyway, it will probably erase HBC, although you can use bannerbomb to reinstall HBC after you update.

I've got myself a Wii 4.0U w/ 1.01 HB

No internet connection, but planning on updating to 4.1U via Wii Sports Resort (i assume it has the update on the disc)

Will this affect the way my backups are run? Any dangers? Interweb seems to be only talking about wifi solutions and virgin wiis

Hm....I don't use back-ups, but It shouldn't hurt it. From what I have read the update doesn't do much. There is only one thing it is said to affect: Copying protected save files. Although you can use an app to get around that.

I was very concerned about updating from 3.2U with HBC to 4.1U because of the notes you have on here. Your warning states that when you are updating to 4.1U if you installed the HBC to 3.3 or lower that it MIGHT erase the HBC from your Wii. Should I update to 4.1U firmware? LOL. Will I be ok? I have read and heard so many different things on this subject. I bought Wii Sports Resort and my kids want to play it, lol. I did read about the Wii Sports Resort glitch that needs the update.

i dont know if making an update to 4.1u, previous having hbc installed, but in my case i bricked my wii LU65 i made an update to 4.1u and when i tried to activated the preloader hacks.ini, thats it, i get a message the hacks.ini are not for ur system console menu, plus after that i goot black ded screen and thats all.

however, if you have cioscorp and preloader, they will be removed.... you can reinstall them but there aren't any systemmenu hacks for for 4.1 yet

its best to stay at 4.0 so you can use preloader to play any region of games (backups) through the regular disk channel

It is safe to install the HBC with 4.1, but only if you use bannerbomb.

lol, it is actually called "bannerbomb". and no, it will not stop it.

The only thing it is said to stop is coping protected saves (like Animal Crossing and SSBB) from the SD card to the wii.

Um.....I am kinda confused with what you are saying. You do not need any apps to update to system 4.1, just make sure you installed HBC with 3.4 or higher.

Depends. if you installed HBC with wii system 3.4 and up, it will be fine. If it was 3.3 or lower, I am not sure.
