IdrA vs. TLO g3 - StarCraft 2 Commentary (#326)

So why is it that Professional or Masters level casts focus only on the base opposite the Zerg player? IdrA, Destiny, NesTea, etc., are almost always spoken of as the bad guy in the cast, and the view seems to remain static on the Protoss or Terran player.

Not only do the Zerg players have to work harder to win (as they can be cheesed out early by the other two), they also get lots of cast-hate.

@shipsimulatorfreak Considering he wins over 90% of his games, that's not very often. People only upload videos of him losing and leaving the game. He almost never sends in his own replays, and he's far from overrated. Idra is easily the #2 or #3 Zerg player on earth at the moment.

I think it was just the map.

Like josh said, it's a maze and hard to defend to muta's. That makes for easy map dominance by zerg. Then there is horizontal positions, even easier to harass with muta's. Then the map is huge, so it's easier to macro (Idra style).

Idra only had to pin TLO in his base and keep the pressure.

So Idra should thank the SC gods for his position and the map. ^^

@emoharry2007 lol yeah, it sounds like that. But what i meant was from the point where he could expand more then TLO, even TLO couldn't do a lot about it. TLO being a great player, let Idra expand (for a huge part due to the map) and from that point on he couldn't harrass or really attack without losing his own base because of the muta harass.

To all you faggot terran crying that zerg are OP idra was on 7 bases......to tlo's 3...... also tlo is shit when it comes down to late game, he is good at early cheesey micro reliant pushes but if that fails GG. Zerg have been the worst and hardest race to play since day 1, idra is one of the best zerg players in the world he had an income and army advantage, and his army comp was the highest tech possible, yet still he had trouble finishing the match, wipe you tears up and learn to play QQ'ers.

@kphilz11 As for thors allthough there bread and butter is light units they have excellent range and big damage versus air (splash as i said helps if the broodlords are clumped up while retreating or pushing, also there large health pool and being armored is a another plus versus broodlings, thus making them a good choice for countering broodlords, FUCKWIT!!! chuck in a few blue flame hellions and some scv's and it is easy to deter the brood lords from pushing forward, back in your box cunt.

@TheEthug thors do a lot of damage to light air units, very little to non-light. Brood lords kill thors way quicker. Plus if u r letting marines run under ur brood lords stimmed then u deserve to lose them. If u want a 'counter' to brood lords try vikings or battlecruisers....

@Nickjtaylor3 yeah i said all that in my earlier comment, the point i was trying to make is thors and marines both do well against broodlords with out support, that being said normally the first thing i make when i see terran going for heavy mech with thors is make broodlords and infestors with NP, but as i said earlier on vikings are clearly the hard counter to broods and the go to unit.
