  • Her immediate response to his kiss is just about the funniest scene ever in silent films (that I have viewed).

  • Thank god for the subtitles. I can't hear a friggin' word the're saying over that blasting ragtime piano music. Sheeeeeeez...

  • I would love to go to a carnival like this.

  • I Gogled "It" and it came up with with a listing for a scary Steven King flick. This is scarier 'cause the gal doesn't talk. It gave me shivers to see a gal dating her boss.

  • ahhh 2:38 it's nice to know men were still pigs nearly a hundred years ago lol

  • I looooooove this movie and Clara <3

  • Clara's very vivacious. I've never seen a clip of her. 'It' looks good fun, I shall try to seek it out. Who says youtube is all bad?

  • happy birthday it-girl

  • I grew down the shore, and remember those air blasts that would hit you when you left the fun house - and this was decades after Clara had to deal with it. LOL

  • That CAR. Wow. ;])

  • oh what a hottie

  • Don't you love how most women in silent films have goth?

LOL, seriously though, Clara was awsome, the prototype of other greats not yet known at that time.

It's unfortunate that due to our litigation crazed society, we can't have such fun houses today.

  • THEY TORE DOWN FUN HOUSE - TOO MANY LAWSUITS/INJURY

  • o filos mou o alexis kserei na anevazei kala video. an kai ena tilefwno den exei parei toso kairo!!! :p

  • Love ya, kid. RIP.

  • She is sooo adorable.

  • bahaha! he got fresh! so you're one of those minute men!

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I saw a skirt blowing moment in there a la Marilyn Monroe! I love Clara. She did everything first. :)

Not to take anything away from Marilyn though. I love her too!

  • 1:00

    that's tight that circle thing

they should make that again haha

  • Silent films look awesome in the theater cause they were filmed so they are high defintion. I wonder if any are on Blue Ray. I got to check it out.

  • is the guy John Gilbert?

btw, Clara is so cute as usual.

  • @morchie717 No, the guy is Antonio Moreno :)

  • Does anyone know where I can find It online to watch? I really want to watch the whole film!

  • So funny and cute! Clara Bow is adorable. <3

  • I never thought I'd laugh so much at a silent film very humorous :)

  • "It' was the perfect way to show off Bow's sensual, cute big eyed appeal. The actor who plays her boss does a great job as the confused suitor.

  • @bqfoster That would be Antonio Moreno.

  • @1:26- I think that was what we called a "turkey trot". We also had a "social mixer" at school, which we called the "whizzy". Great fun!

  • It's a silent film from the 20s... they didn't have sound just music.

  • Clara Bow is my hero :)

  • The social mixer looks like so much fun...... and Clara Bow was adorable. :)

  • *sigh* I love Clara Bow...

  • She was really cute. No bras in 1927... I remember those spinning devices from when I was a kid. (1950)

  • omg lol those games are kinda dangerous we dont have games like that around nowadays lol hehe ironic ?!

  • I couldn't help but smile as I saw this.

  • I wish I was the one who got to put my arms around Clara and go down the slide with her! Mr. Waltham was a lucky guy!

  • what i would give to just talk to her or louise brooks, marion davies, gloria swanson...and of course mary pickford

  • If quickly observant; it can be debated whether or not Clara was actually wearing panties during frames 1:01 and 1:02.

She sure seems intent on covering-things-up a bit soon afterward.

She had more that just "IT".

    She had natural talent.

  • Ooops...I should have said 2:01 and 2:02.

    Sorry.

  • uuuuhhhh..that was cute...hehe

  • I just saw this at the Sprekels Organ Pavilion in San Diego with an Orgainist- it was fantastic!

  • I was lucky to see this at a silent movie theater where an elderly gentleman was playing the organ as the background music. It was magnificent!

  • Thank you for posting this! Please keep it posted I love it!

  • I that Coney Island?

  • Hot dogs that sizzle and satisfy! Indeed!

...and some lay the blame at the feet of

Clara Bow...the first It-Girl. The Millard Fillmore of Hopscotch. The invention of the hindbrain.

  • Wow - the 1920's looks so fun in this video!

  • But dangerous. Look at those rides! That 'social mixer' thing probably wouldn't be allowed today.

  • Its amazing they didnt puke on that spinning thing!!I have recently "discoverd" clara BOW,& I think she was amazing.

  • Clara is the ultimate 20s icon, hands down, she's my favourite!

  • clara bow is a fantasticly fascinating person

  • cool :D

  • Love it! Thank you!!

  • I wish my life was like this clip, haha...

    I love Clara Bow.

  • I love the early movies. I've given you five stars, please check out my silent movie memorabilia vids (includes Clara Bow)

    when you have time.

  • how come they can put music in the movie but no speech? surely its the same things, just less annoying?

  • Rumour has it, originally there was no music in these movies. Instead, there were live orchestras playing to accompany them in the theater. These have now been re-made(edited) with music, I think. Good question. And lol.

  • its no rumor..it really was like that

  • Yeah, the silent movies originally didn't have music; all the music was live (usually a piano player). Then when they released them on video/DVD they added music to the soundtrack.

  • This is completely wrong. No movie was ever shown silent. At the very least there was a piano in the theatre.

  • Where was this filmed? Looks like the rides on the Santa Cruz boardwalk.

  • According to one web source it was filmed at the Venice amusement park near LA

  • In the 1920s, was there ANYPLACE where it was considered o.k. for a man to not wear a suit and tie? The whole concept of dressing like that to go on amusement park rides now seems so incongruous!

  • They wore suits because they actually cared about how they looked, unlike men today.

  • But, notice how everyone was wearing suits, and they all look basically the same. Almost as if they didn't really care-but didn't want to seem contreversial-so they just wore what everyone else was wearing..

  • Yep, before Marilyn's skirt, there was Clara's. ;-)

  • hi,the music is wonderful,i'd like to buy the dvd whit this music:is this release the carl davis or william perry music edition?

  • kalo gomenaki, h tainia omos... einai gia gelia
