  • MY GOD! they still maintain those clothes, attires and the tradition in about 1000 years! This's definitely what they called the oldest hereditary monarchy in the world..

    BTW, Aiko-sama really looked like a life size, living kokeshi doll!

  • I think that Princess Masako is a remarkable lady. I don't understand why some people are so merciless to criticize her. If you were in her position, you might NOT be able to cope with the pressure at all.

    In addition, I believe that she is a good mother and that's why her daughter behaves so well.

  • The Queen of England only got the throne because her parents did not have a male heir. If a similar situation to the Japanese occured (with all female children and then a male coming along) the females would be bypassed in favour for the male in England as well. There are few countries where females can inherit the throne over males (Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden is the only example I can think of. Even though her brother Prince Carl Philip was born, she will get the throne).

  • I would hate to know what it's like, being a child forced to act formally at all times, my entire life in front of the camera, being expected to be a perfectly behaved adult before I could even read ... poor child. Thus is the involuntary price of being a political figure.
