  • You sound like Hiccup. The guy in "how to train a dragon" =0

  • I still have this one and still working. I do like the new pen and touch but ill wait till this one doesnt work.

  • lol I still have this and is still working perfectly :)

Bamboo Fun 1st gen seemed to have 'extinct', overshadowed by the newer ones

  • is this bamboo fun ?

    it is different appearance

  • @wilson12921 Yep it's just the older model. I have a video of the slightly newer one as well on my channel.

  • WHAT? The nibs wear out in how many months? So are you like drawing every day?

  • @Radenska512 Nah I wouldn't worry about it. I haven't needed to change a tip yet. It must take MANY MANY hours of use to wear one down.

  • I don't know why but everytime I watch this, I think of How to train your Dragon.

  • @ryushahkola LOL

  • Is it difficult to draw on these tablets without screens on them?

  • @RaccoonButter There is a very small learning curve. But once you are over that it is natural to use this.

  • why isnt this design on the website??? is this a old design?

  • how much is this?

  • @mayoshirika probably like less than $50 nowadays

  • @paintballguy113

does it work GREAT? and is it easy to learn how to use program?

  • @mayoshirika Yep. It works really well. And the whole system is really intuitive. It's a very natural experience

  • @paintballguy113

    oh...okay then THANKS! x)

  • does it work on linux? specificly ubuntu?

  • @bullettotheboard i believe it does

  • Did they discontinue this tablet? I only see the pen and touch on their website.

  • @Cosmeticsare1 yep they discontinued it :(

  • @paintballguy113 I live out in Cal. and my mother just got me one from Best Buy, I'm useing it right now. She bought it just this month.

  • @paintballguy113 nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • @Cosmeticsare1 i wanted the newer fun tablet but im gonna end up getting the newer pen and touch but you cant hardly ever find the older versions on shelves besides of course on there website

  • How do you program the buttons? I've had my silver one for a year or two now and I never knew what the buttons were for. I remember going through the software setup, but I don't recall programming the buttons. I'm glad I came across this video.

  • @LoatheAtMe Watch part 2 :)

  • does bamboo fun have wireless one?

  • Awesome, I might be getting mine soon, and nice job getting a bamboo with a panda background :P

  • if they sell it on ebay will it come with the cds ?

  • @iyanasan2 Mine did

  • how much is this?

  • @mr143sasuke Well they don't sell this model anymore but you mighht be able to find it on ebay for $50 or less probably. visit wacom.com for the new models if you're interested.

  • im used to drawing on pen and paper, is this a good transition from that to the computer?

  • @kree777 Yes. the surface is textured. It's a very easy transition

  • @paintballguy113 how is the transition from drawing on paper to looking away from your hand to a computer screen?

  • @kree777 You can adjust it. I would recommend going with having it limited to s single screen if you have dual monitors. But it's very accurate and I have not encountered any lag from drawing to it showing up on the screen.

  • i know you said is compatible with windows but does that mean is competible with windows 7? ever sense i got windows 7 i find nothing is compatible :(

  • sorry but what did you said about the thing that was interchangeable? Do others come in the package, how can I order them? Thanks

  • works in laptop??

  • @amagallanes222 Yep.

  • Comment removed

  • @paintballguy113 I got mine used on ebay awhile ago.

  • look who uses particleillusion without even making new effects!

    also, i LOVE paintball too.

  • i heard they have one thats 70 dollars

  • I have a few questions. I want the bamboo fun tablet, but i don't really want to spend 199 on it. You said your tablet was 100? I know the bamboo pen and touch is 100, but i didn't know they made the bamboo fun version in a small... So how did you get the small tablet, and where did you purchase this? Much help is appreciated. :) Great video also!

  • @CheshireCatHatter Well I reviewed the new pen and touch tablet. If you are looking for this specific model I would recommend going to ebay and looking around. Chances are you'll find a used one for a great price. The newer models that wacom sells today have 2 main models; pen and touch(and variants), and the fun tablets. These are exactly the same in every way except that they are colored differently and the fun is now the medium/large size. There is no longer a small and medium fun tablet.

  • @paintballguy113 Thank you very much!

  • Will the photoshop work with windows 7?

  • @xItsLisax Yep. It will.

  • but what if you have only 1 screen? I'm not all that computer literate so would the vistab be better for me?

  • @iopghjk001 You really don't need the large tablet surface, also the vistablet has no hardware buttons. Wacom has a scroll wheel with up and down arrows also and 4 buttons. I use the scroll wheel to zoom. Great tablet, and in my opinion even better than the new pen and touch tablet.

  • one to ten how would you rate it compared to just using your regular laptop mouse pad.

  • @gunghoman414 Well I really like using the tablet for actual drawings. I use an MX revolution with a big rocketfish mousepad for daily use. I really like the MX for quick non drawing projects in photoshop because you can move the mouse around so incredibly quick and still have your keyboard right in front of you. But when you need to draw it is 100x better than the mouse because nothing beats actually drawing it. It's really easy to mess up with a mouse if it slides or sticks or something.

  • hi ,nice video can you help me on changing the color on my adobe photo shop elements 6.0 . The color is only coming black and white if i want to draw. Thanks

  • @hockeymaniac516 well ther should be two little squares towards the bottom left of ur screen. a black one and a white one. just double click them to bring up a color palette and choose ur color.

  • ehm...i got question here...

would yiu give me the tablet please ?

    LOL ^^

    nice vid btw

  • Hey when it comes with the extra software (photoshop etc), does it only lasts like a few months or is it like forever if you know what I mean?

  • @TheSummervibe Yes I do understand you. And yes the software is the full version so technically you could use it forever without it expiring, it is not trial software.

  • @paintballguy113 Oh cool, thank you!

  • can u mirror (flip) the image?

  • thank you so much for this video! it helped a lot~ i'm definitely getting one of these soon! :)

  • The thingy might be for the plug

  • I think I know what the thing is I think you can put your plug in it or something when your not using it?? maybe you should try it out

  • What is the size of the active area, not the actual whole tablet?

  • 7.2'' diagonal

  • can you rotate an image using the thing in the middle of the light? Like rotate an image slightly to the left or right using photoshop? thanks

  • Unfortunately not this is one of the few things that are limited. the wheel can only be used to zoom or scroll and the little arrows in the scroll wheel can do fast scrolling. Although if you search around you may be able to find a 3rd party application that allows you to customize the tablet to its fullest.

  • Haha. Blue eye of mordor? XD

this is gonna be my first tablet, so is the bamboo fun really neccesarry, or could I settle for the cheaper Bamboo pen and touch?

  • Well technically the new one with the multio touch that u can use your fingers with is better(1024 levels of pressure sensitivity vs 512) BUT I do like having the scroll wheel that this one has for zoom etc. which i use a lot. But as an alternative the normal bamboo would be just fine, just this one comes with some nice software.

  • wats the nibs

  • They are little plastic pieces that you put in the pen. it's like on a stylus/ Stylus tips wear out and so do these. The nibs are replacements.

  • this is a really helpful review, thanks for posting =)

  • i got the same one as you but i never got that weird stand thing you figure out what it is

  • Ya I still have no idea what that is lol.

  • lol yea no i'm kinda weirded out cause i didn't get one lmao mabe it is a stand

  • Very nice review mate! I already have the bamboo but if I didn't watching your review might have made buy it earlier :D

That black thing that you didn't know what it is ( I don't have it) but it looks like a tool to remove the nibs with. You know, like a tweezer or something.

  • Ya there is a mac version, but i guess you could use crossover. Ya I would guess the new ones that have multi touch are compatible with mac.

  • the NIK thing is Mac compatible, you have to drag it into the adobe photoshop's "plug-in" folder

  • Hey thanks dude. I didn't know that. Have you tried it though because it says windows compatible?

  • Well I'm talking about the newer software version, while your tablet looks alittle older. I my self don't have a mac, but have seen a video on how to add it to a mac. I have also seen the plug-in be used on a mac.

  • nice review mate , i have the medium , but mine is white and it turns into yellow after a year . I better had the nice black1

  • im supposed to get mine tomorrow :D

  • u know the pen holder.. inside is the extra nids. did u pruchased those r did it come inside?? because i don't have them?

  • It. Comes with those. They don't come in the holder, but come in a little packet. You can get more of them at the wacom site.

  • hey! this review was so great.. i bought one! thanks so much for your help!

    ,danea martin

  • nice review i might get one

  • His head is shaped like a light bulb.

  • Excellent review, thanks!

  • so this tablet is good to work in a program like solid works??

  • Well it depends on what you are doing but I would guess that the buttons could be mapped to something useful. I would think a 3d design mouse would be better like the contour shuttleXpress or the kensington expertMouse Trackball

  • how long does the pen last? and how much is it to replce it? please answer back, thanks!

  • So the pen never needs to be replaced. but if you watch in the other 2 pts of the review I show the pen nibs which last anywhere from 3months to a year depending on how heavy of a user you are and how hard to like to press. and u get around 4 or 5 when you first buy it, but after that u can buy about 5nibs for $3-$5

  • thanks for the help!

  • this is the best review of it on youtube! congratz!

  • finally a useful review for Bamboo Fun

  • wow it has adobe thats a shock

  • that's everything that i needed to know before i buy this. thanks!
