I live in quebec and we had an ice storm several years ago, nothing was working and everything was closed ( markets, school etc) for like 1 month. The city was evacuated, trees was braking and u could not use your car, there was like 2-3 inch of ice on everything.
Small cars are nice to drive. I prefer those to bigger cars. Since I got my driving licence I have driven around with a small car in 3 months now but I won't buy a bigger car until I have got more experience in a year or two. One thing you missed was the stop sign you have to stop even if there is no traffic.
Anyway, enough talk about cars and driving licence.
I didn't live in US when this ice storm caused this tragedy of destruction. But I guess it was in Oklahoma, right?
Try no internet, electricity or water - for about a week or more during and after a Florida hurricane in the middle of hot muggy summer. That ice storm I scoff at.
I can understand that, but there were many people here without electricity or water for over two weeks during and after this ice storm. When you're talking below freezing temps and no electricity you're talking death. I think it's equally as bad.
Perhaps, but have you considered that you can always put on more clothes, or blankets - but you can only get so naked and then youre still just damn hot. ;P
Try no books, soap or air - for about a week or more during and after my space shuttle broke down in the middle of space. That Florida hurricane I scoff at.
Yeah we had a snow storm a few years back it was 20 below and had no power or heat for two days. Had to go to school on day 2 that also had no heat or power. It sucked.
Ahh, a fine example of global warming. (kidding, of course) The headline for the Beijing Times a couple of weeks ago was "Global Warming blamed for worst snow storm on record". Haha.
hm.. dont you have a PSP or DS or GBA, thats what i play when its storming, i mean i live in Florida and stuff like this happens every day... especially during hurracain season.
About 12-13 years ago, we had a pretty bad ice storm where I live. Our power was out for like a week or two, so I know what you mean by having no power. How long was your power out?
