@roumanobr Well he best season he went 12.8 and 9 shooting 50%. This season he is 11.7 ppg, 9.1 apg, and 3.6 rpg. He averages more points than just 9 a game, but he generally averages 9 assists at the end of a season. He is a top 10 point guard in the NBA for sure.

Calderon is a yearly double double threat which is extremely rare in the nba. If you look back 5-6 years ago the league leaders in assist would only average around 9 and it'd always be the superstars (Kidd, Nash, ect).
Calderon has had troubles with playing time and injury, but anytime he DID get a chance he was a double double guys easily. Totally underrated player.
At the time of this video Calderon was beast, doing like 13 and 10 which would be one of the best PG's today if you ask me.

13-10 in 2008 was beast, and the thing about calderon is that: sure he's a terrible defender, but look at Jay Triano's system the past few years. It was terrible designed to expose every player's flaws on defense, had they gotten a real coach I'm sure Jose would be still in the conversation

Playing in Toronto doesn't put him under the radar.. it's rather the folks down south don't know much. i don't blame them..

Calderon is a yearly double double threat which is extremely rare in the nba. If you look back 5-6 years ago the league leaders in assist would only average around 9 and it'd always be the superstars (Kidd, Nash, ect).
Calderon has had troubles with playing time and injury, but anytime he DID get a chance he was a double double guys easily. Totally underrated player.
At the time of this video Calderon was beast, doing like 13 and 10 which would be one of the best PG's today if you ask me.

Calderon cannot play a shred of defense and besides passing, hes only good at hitting free throws or the open 3. as for the double thing, not to take away from players like him and Nash because i LOVE Nash and hes great, but those 2 players GREATLY benefit on the fact that they run such a up tempo offense. just go back to Nash's dallas days or look at his drop in numbers after they got shaq and how they went back to normal when he left

13-10 in 2008 was beast, and the thing about calderon is that: sure he's a terrible defender, but look at Jay Triano's system the past few years. It was terrible designed to expose every player's flaws on defense, had they gotten a real coach I'm sure Jose would be still in the conversation

Calderon was 2nd in the leafue in assist before this was made and was only 3 yrs in the league, and was breaking out as Torontos number one point guard, none of this battle with T.J ford...the staff had every right to think he would develop into a top 5 point guard in the league.

While he is terrible defensively, he's on of the better PGs offensively in the league. He doesn't shoot a lot, but he knows how to run an offence for sure and always pays attention to the floor.. to the point where he's sometimes two- three steps ahead. He's calm and a good leader. All in all, he'll never be in the discussion for an All- Star game, but he's underrated. Playing in Toronto doesn't put him under the radar.. it's rather the folks down south don't know much. i don't blame them..
