The first planet discovered out of our Solar System was not in 1995 by the Swiss scientists but in 1992 by a Polish astronomer Aleksander Wolszczan. The only difference was, that that planet was rotating around a pulsar while in the second case it was around another star similar to ours. And still prof. Marcy didn't discovered that planet, he just confirmed the work done by Michel Mayor and Didier Queloz
