  • Hey...great You Tube video here. Thanks man. = )

  • garter snakes do have a mild venom. Look it up. Feel free to argue....cause you will be wrong.

  • you go now you be on here to long you go now you scare my wife you go now.

  • snake: come at me bro!?

  • why not just leave it be.. why would you want it all agro, fair enough your teaching ppl about the snake but no need to stress it out.

  • There is one type of snake that is non-venemous but it's bite has killed people. It is the watersnake it has an anti-coagulant in it's saliva and people with weak hearts have had a heart attack because it didn't stop bleeding right away.

  • Gartersnakes do NOT have fangs or venom, and are usually not aggressive or tempermental, they are harmless and the bite almost tickles I know I have been bitten by them a couple of times when first captured. THEY WILL DEFEND themselves tho.

  • @TomChair I said that to someone wo thought it was a legit put-you-in-the-hospital classic venous snake. It's not. But like a lot of snakes, it does, however, have venom. Read my comment on September 20th!!!!!! I know that shit.

  • OMG IM GONNA SAY THIS ONE MORE TIME. THEY DO HAVE VENOM. It's just not dangerous to humans. I've been making this comment since mid-2011 it's getting old.

  • @ThamnophisMan 5 months ago you said: "OK to those who think this guy is venomous, THEY'RE NOT. I keep them. (an no, poionous and venomous are much different) This is just a harmless eastern garter snake." You can define "venomous" and venomous to humans. Ants have venom. Every spider is venomous.

  • @ThamnophisMan then stop worrying about it..... why is other people's ignorance so important to u man??? not worth it...

  • @ARjordanMY No shit, Sherlock.

  • this guys an idiot, its venom, not poison and dont listen to any of this guys false info. it funny to see people who think they know what there talking about but just ramble on nonsense.

  • if you take a bite out of the snake and you die then he is poisonous, if he bites you and you die then he is venomous. (neither would happen he is neither poison or venom) poison is ingested, venom is injected. either way, this poor snake being harassed, he just isn't used to being handled not being a pet, either way at least they let him go on his way. more than my dad would have done

  • @Mattheweueu You crack me up.

  • can you get hiv from snake?

  • theres no blood

  • A GOOD SNAKE IS A DEAD SNAKE.. ijs

  • 0:54 - yeah we definitely need to get good YouTube footage, no matter what.

  • Does no one understand that you don't handle a snake like that. Their sexual organs are in that area. Would you like someone to pick you up by your d*ck, probably not. Also I hate it when people say that snake are poisonous, They are either venomous or nonvenomous.

  • Poor snake. I feel sorta bad for it lolz. I had a pet one when I was little named homer. I brought it home and scared my sister and mom with it.

  • 15

  • Bunch of wimpy faggots posting down thread.

  • why the fuck dont you leave the snake alone:: dont you see he hates idiots!

  • Yes u were very responsible haha

  • what kind of camera did you shoot this video with

  • why this nake so aggresiv ?

  • @zqdz123 Probably scared shitless by giant humans comming at him! :P

  • some Garter snake I come across are more rowdy than the venomous ones, its like over compensation i think lol love snakes though that a good lookin one there!

  • That's not how you pick up snakes

  • Is it bad that i keep jumping back outta my seat everytime the snake tries to strike?

  • 8 of the rules

  • well that was stupid.

  • i thought he was huge untill you grabbed him

  • @brenard23455 Me? Respond to this video??? Yes it's a beautiful eastern garter snake, never protects which pisses me off, perfectly legal to keep as far as I know, but do research on your state. Any questions just ask me.

  • @brenard23455 Um... has no resemblance to a corn snake...

  • IT's so much more FUN when you use both hands!!!

  • @coltonalaan Gee, I didnt know. I've put the last few years of my life into garter snakes.LOL ;) It can cause some burning/itching (one of my little tiny baby bites me it's on FIRE) but mostly It just helps seduce their prey, yes.

  • Noo, it will bite you with it's ass obviously with the teeth

  • "Snakes bites me with his teeth." nooo, i thought he bit you with his butt.

  • @theningascizor I agree.

  • C'mon, man. Leave the poor snake alone. Hahaha!

  • you're kind of an idiot.

  • However. Water snakes, their closest cousin, WILL bite. Check out my channel, and you'll see. Garters are known as a very docile snake, and they are, except on se occasions, usually when being mishandled or harassed LIKE IN THIS VIDEO.;) Water snakes however, don't give a damn. They want you dead.

  • @CombatSportsFan your first comment: true, they have a mild venom, but nowhere near as bad as you made it sound. Some people don't even react. I personally har never reacted to it. Second comment: wrong. Not sure what you have in mind by "cousins" but I'm assuming you mean water snakes etc. Garter snakes usually don't bite, actually. Never had one (wild) bite me. They musk sure, bit so do all snakes really.

  • Garter snakes have a slightly nastier disposition than some of their more docile cousins. They will leave you alone if you leave them alone, but if you make them feel like they are being endangered in any way, they WILL strike first and ask questions later.

  • OK to those who think this guy is venomous, THEY'RE NOT. I keep them. (an no, poionous and venomous are much different) This is just a harmless eastern garter snake, that was BEING MISSHANDLED and naturally defended itself. Pick it up nicely and it won't act like this. (except sometime lol but still it's not as bad) I've been bit by much worse.

If your afraid of getting bitten to the point where you can't handle the snake right -- no reason to pick it up. Just makes you look like an idiot.

  • @ThamnophisMan What do YOU know about garter snakes, "ThamnophisMan"? (I know enough about snakes to know why this question is funny.)

  • @ThamnophisMan Garter snakes actually are slightly venomous, but it's the equivalent of the venom you get in a bee sting or mosquito bite. If you get bit just right you will likely itch in the spot a few days after as it heals up.

  • @ThamnophisMan actually, they do have venom, but it isnt potent to humans. But tits so they can paralyze it prey

  • @ThamnophisMan it looks for like a kind of corn snake.

  • Respond to this video... the black on the snake looks so nice, are they allowed as pets legally?

  • @brenard23455 Yeah.

  • @ThamnophisMan no one likes pricks like u so shut the hell up

  • @ThamnophisMan Actually you are wrong.. Recent studies have suggested they do have minimum amounts of neurotoxic venom, however due to the way their teeth are, they do not have proper means of injecting the venom. and even if it did get in you, it would not be enough to kill you or really harm you at all.

  • You idiot, snakes don't have teeth.

  • this is a gardner snake they r not VENOMOUS

  • SNAKES ARE NOT POISONOUS. They are venomous.

  • @wtfdudenotcool101 Poisonous and Venomous are the same thing.

  • @beyrishal Where did you get that PhD Dr. Moronic? Tree frogs have toxins, so do snakes. How they use them determines whether they are poisonous or venomous.

Poisons are ingested, inhaled or absorbed through skin. Venom is injected into lymphatic system.

Snakes deliver toxins through bites making them venomous. Tree frogs deliver toxins through touch which makes them poisonous.

    Get it?

  • that ones tiny

  • i put my thumb in ones mouth and he bit me it didnt really hurt but he was hanging on for awhile.

  • I have been bit by garder snakes a few times, I was saving them from my dog. It dose not hurt

  • There is one subspecies of Garter snakes that has primitive fangs in the rear of its mouth and is mildly poisonous, found on the west coast. The snake is small and does not present a threat to humans. The bite burns some and may leave a black and blue spot. Snake delivers its venom by chewing on its prey. The venom may be hemotoxic by the way it burns, no knows for sure. Since it is not deadly no one has researched it.

  • This dude must be white just like black comedians say. White ppl will go to the mountains see a 2 milion pound BEAR and say hey how are you....OR....swim in a river full of CROCS and say....there so cute...OR.....walk in the middle of LIONS in the jungle and say can i pet u

  • This snake is indeed posion but it has too little venom to do harm but it does sting from the venom it injects

  • @SynXCraft - my Dad who got bit by this snake is in a coma! What kind of poison does garter snakes have?

    Just kidding.

  • @TomChair lolz

  • @TomChair Haha, that was such a funny joke!

    Just kidding.

  • @TomChair a garter snake can carry poison from a certain newt that it eats

  • @TomChair not realy o0 why u did that with a so piosonous snake are u stupid o0

  • @TomChair i thought u were serious i was like holy crap!

  • what else is a snake gonna bite you with? his ass?

  • I've caught hundreds of garter snakes near my house, I've gotten bitten many times but they usually arn't as agressive as that one. I've also only had them draw blood on me once, and that was only because I was holding him and he got a hold of my thumb and gnawed on it for a while before he decided to let go. Fun stuff though, snakes are awesome!

  • I'm just now seeing this! Pretty sweet! I liked the slow motion part. Any complications from the bite?

  • TURNS OUT IT WASNT A GARDEN SNAKE ! AHAHHA

  • What a wonderful family experience! And, I actually think the snake enjoyed the experience as much as everyone else in the video did!

  • What kind of snake was that?

  • @TheShorterVersion That's a harassed snake

  • You should never touch wild animals unless they really need it. You can tell this one is poison because of the head. You are lucky you did not die.

  • @DeathPenaltyShow

even a baby could identify garter snakes^^....

  • @DeathPenaltyShow no. this one is not venomous. check out some of the reptile forum :P

im a moderator at tarantulas.us lots of good people there.

this here is a common eastern garter/ribbon.

  • @revoltkid123 Garter snakes are rear-fanged venomous.

  • @MichiganHerpss i heard that soon after they discovered the mild venom glands, it actually turned out to be sacks that carried anticoagulant saliva that was stored in the Duvernoy's gland behind the eyes, and it isnt really a venom, but used to stop your blood from clotting so your pores would continue to bleed from the bite.

  • @revoltkid123 Ya but if you read up they are rear fanged ;)

  • @MichiganHerpss Really?

  • @TomChair really

  • @DeathPenaltyShow And we can tell you don't know what the hell you're talking about by your comments.

  • Should you pick up snakes like this? Brave boys!

  • Are you sure it wasn't poisonous?
