  • go to take there close off that will wake them

  • Hypnosis? Isn't that what that cult scientology uses on it's victims?

  • It's the start of l4d.... witch's have been born 0_o quick find a weapon.... is that a bile of puke. niiiiicccceeee!!!!

  • the volunteer girl was drunk....that's what i heard anyway

  • Abreaction is the reliving of a past event. This is the girl and the audience running their belief behaviour patterns with the hypnotists incompetence at removing those as a matter of course during his wake up.

Probably taught that hypnosis is down to the person being hypnotised. Total rubbish.

Hypnosis is entirely created, managed, controlled and terminated by the hypnotist.

    Read "Deeper and Deeper".

  • hypnotism usually releases and opens up your innermost emotions by total relaxation. Something is just fucked up with these kids.

  • Hypnotism is basically nothing more than a VOLUNTARY state of extreme focus, attention, and cooperation. Brain waves do indeed change...but the person is still acting and thinking under their own volition. The girl THOUGHT she might start to freak out and the suggestion snow balled in her mind as she began to react physically to this thought. Hypnotism is 99% participation 1% showmanship.

  • The rumour is that she was drunk when she volunteered...

  • Hypnosis is not a bad practice if used correctly.

  • /agree! I have seen it work wonders in a friend who quit smoking.

  • Your friend quit smoking on his own. The hypnotist merely suggested that he can if he believed he could. It's about as effective as a placebo...which does not necessarily mean its a scam. If it's effective, then go ahead and do it.

  • Yes. Its exactly the placebo effect. But with that effect I have seen people overcome phobias, quit addictions, and overall just improve their quality of life. I personally have used it in ways similar to a stage show to create catalepsy, have people forget their names, and other phenomena. Belief is powerful.

By the way, my guess is that the people were on drugs. That or what Jon Chase said. The hypnotist brought them to "waking consciousness" without removing the beliefs he installed.

  • wow ... considering that L. Ron Hubbard practiced hypnosis before starting his "church" this makes it a bit easier to understand how Scientologists can become brainwashed.

  • technically, brainwashing is a subjective term that describes any number of behavior and thought conditioning techniques, all of which have to be done of the individuals own volition. As long as the individual wants to be brainwashed, they will be brain washed, but there are methods of coercing people to be more open to suggestion by depriving them of sleep/food and inducing a slow high voltage/low amperage current of electricity through them for long periods of time (i.e. auditing).

  • WTF?
