I just rode two in Russia in June one an American design but had Soviet builder plates on it the oter looked like a former German engine presumably a Soviet war trophy we also rode a 4-8-4 that looked alot like the old L&N streamlined engines as big as 844 but with a stramline sloped front and smoke lifters blue and red in color ..we have one of these Frisco decapods here in Dallas Tx but dead probilly never to run again
Nice to see a Russian decapod in full action. Wish sister 1632, located in Belton, MO was operable just like 1630. At least 1632 is back on its home rails again, even if it doesn't run.
When starting an Engineer must sound the bell on any locomotive, steam or diesel. Also when approaching a station or leaving same.
In a situation like that at the IRM platform, where people are cvrawling around everywhere I'd leave mine on until the train had cleared the diesel shop.
I don't remember what the rule is at IRM for the bell, I am far away from them now, but I would assume they follow GCoR.
i just came back from Russia rideing steam over there we had a few 2-10-0 engines pulling us one was patterned after the American design the other was I assume a former German engine probilly a Soviet war trophy I also saw a 2-10-0 last year on display at the Vladavostok depot that was from the US
not to correct you but that's the illinois railway museum, nice video anyway haven't ridden on that since i was a kid

That be ol' 1630, he'll be hoping to run in 2008 once those wheels and bearings on her 5th drive set are fixed up.
