  • It's a shame most death metal bands suck now adays, all about being either the heaviest, most technical or most brutal with out keeping old death metal influence alive. Especially with bands incorporating core/grind style vocals. It'd be great if bands took after pestilence, grave, bolt thrower, etc.

  • @TheAngelRaper Check out "Disma"

  • From NL, if it aint Dutch it aint much :-)

  • K_ _WAAAAAAAAAA !!!

  • Pestilence ruled the non-american death metal scene in the 80's an early 90's ...(The new Pestilence album is no joke either!!)

This is back when Roadrunner had a sub label called R/C records, It didnt matter if you had ever heard the band or knew anything about them, If they were on R/C or Roadrunner you were pretty much guaranteed it was gonna rock hard!

  • spin in de mond?

als ie mij maar niet dood bijt

  • Pestilence patea culos!!! saludos desde Perú!!! América del sur.

  • Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I dont think its thrashy riffs. Death metal can be fast, long, as heavy as you want. Theres no boundries for death metal. Just because theres fast riffs doesn't mean its thrashy. Its just fucking metal

  • Fucking awesome

  • MUTHERFUKER!!!!!!! I WISH I STILL HAD THIS ALBUM!!!!

  • Absolute Death Classic.

  • Vocals are similar to Asphyx on Last One On Earth.

  • @The3XpL0D It's the same vocalist.

  • @The3XpL0D Same vocalist

  • Realmente LOS AMO!!!! extrañaba todo esta musica :D

    THIS KIND OF MUSIC.

  • @TheBum2011 "fuckin´dis, fuckin dat, fuck, fuck, fuckin´death metl, fuckin´live, fuckin, hate...it´s old school doom-death metal. Shut the ...hm...just leave it to say "fuck". It s just cool to kids, you know?! I don´t like curses...but I like #death metal sometimes...strange...but please: "fuck" is not cool. Just for jerks.

  • @hallihallo7777 oh..."thebum"...didn t you want to call yourself "thebang" or "motherfuckinhellyeahbangbum-maaaanyeaahfuck,fuck"?!

  • ole su polla

  • best pestilence album !!!

  • full power!

  • Hey dude, you got somethin on your face. It looks like ants...lol

  • HOLLAND :P

  • It sounds like death/thrash to me, I know Pestilence is a death metal band but thats what I think, like Entombed, they have thrashy riffs, etc.

    Does anyone feel the same?

    Anyways, Good Song!

  • @RaM25OO Yeah, I do. A very, very thrashy song. :p

  • @RaM25OO Old school death metal has many things incommon with thrash metal

  • @RaM25OO yes it is thrash styled death, pure fucking metal haha

  • @Apkx24 oldshool thrash the first album was with more thrash influenceses

  • @RaM25OO well man, Pestilence DID start out as a thrash metal band....but then progressed into death metal sound....but it all doesn't really matter, these dudes are badass and it's all Metal...."REAL" metal, so it's all good!

  • @RaM25OO Entombed is good you just reminded me ty.

  • @RaM25OO Early death metal came from thrash and at one point was considered thrash so you have a point

  • @RaM25OO Naw it's old school death metal. You probably aren't used to it.

  • @EverettDudgeon138 I'm starting to think the terms "thrash," "death/thrash" and "death metal" don't always do albums like consuming impulse justice. Bands from back then fit anywhere along a spectrum between death and thrash and some of the riffs in this song do remind me of early testament or slayer

  • @RaM25OO

    Wow 27 incompetents, nise!!!

  • top ten death metal song ever, easy.

  • 66,666 views now that's what I call fucking Metal!!!! \M/

  • 2:12 win!

  • God damn....This brings back some fuckin memories.

  • @fataloxygen Agreed, followed by Asphyx's "Evocation," both written by Van Drunen.

  • great track, fantastic impact and delivery, the second best guitar sound ever behind early emtombed IMHO.

  • fuckin heavy!!! \m/ \m/

  • Used to play this song to death.I think some DM acts these days are

trying to be too technical(how good they can play) and forgetting about

    the feel and mood.

  • Anyone know what amps they used?

  • @samathanwataguan Loud ones.

  • this= FUCKING AWESOME!

  • @SpiritMolecule1

hahaha 'karmablade is the new sepultura' nah i listened to them and they're abit average really. Do you not have anythin better to do than comment on random metal videos about karmablade?

  • @klumpos no i dont, my mission is to spread the word of karmablade, its much better than 99% of the new crap bands.

  • Please check a Death/Black band which is very good in my channel called Dusk Chapel I try to advertise them to make them famous because noone knows how to listen to great music nowadays... It's one from the rare bands like Death and the father of Death Metal and master musician Chuck Schuldiner that make all the songs of one album masterpieces and not just one or two songs... Here is a sample: watch?v=Kawf4mTM6qI. Copy paste on google as it is or on the address bar of youtube Spread the word!

  • ...music from my childhood. MEAT!!! Awesome!

  • THIS IS supreme DUTCH deathmetal :) cya

  • Clasickk!!

  • Looks like the whole 3 Justin Bieber fans came to dislike this.

    Shameful...

  • @Joemama057 How do you know that those that disliked this video are Justin Bieber fans? You don't/can't possibly KNOW that.

  • This was BY FAR my favorite Pestilence album. Van Drunnen KILLS it on vocals - Pestilence was never the same without him.

  • I SAW THEM AT THE COUNTRY CLUB IN RESEDA CA IN EARLY 90"S AWESOME LIVE SHOW VERY TIGHT

  • always liked this band. killer death metal that stands the test of time.

  • massacre are a band to check out

  • i love it! my years,my memories! Hail from Poland!

  • I can't believe I saw these guys play in 1991.

  • Here's a little something for everyone to satisfy their metal appetite.

  • good old nice death metal, never fails to lift up spirits when needed

  • Simply put: ONE OF THE BEST FUCKIN' DEATH METAL SONGS EVER!!! \m/

  • j'aime DEATH,OBITUARY,mais alors là un morceau que j'écoutais il y à 20 ans qui me donne toujours autant d'effet,.....alors là je dis OUI.

  • old pestilence so good,

  • FUCKING YEAH!!!! MAKE ME WANNA PULL OUT MY ENEMYZ OR BODIES D:<

  • Great fuckin song; one of the earliest 90s death metal bands that influenced me to worship death metal.

  • bawawaw! bawawaw! bawawaw! who let the dogs out!

  • @emailroy2002 judging by your face, looks like your mother did. what a fucking bitch she is.

  • If you guys want an amazing OSDM band that only released their first album in 2009, then check out Tribulation - The Horror. It is definitely worth a listen. Best death metal band of the last decade for sure.

  • so goood!!!!

  • 1986-1993: Best years for thrash/death metal

A lot of classic thrash and death metal came out at that time by bands like: Death, Pestilence, Slayer, Sepultura, Morbid Angel, Deicide, Kreator, Sodom, Atheist, Massacre, Nocturnus, Testament, Megadeth, Death Angel, Dark Angel, Forbidden.

Metal will never be that good again. Now its mostly just poser Core bands which are basically just emo kids trying to play death metal and failing.

  • @arise212 There are plenty of good new bands to check out. Emos playing metal is what's trendy and easy to check out, you're digging in the wrong cemetary. In the past few years, quite a few 'old school' death metal bands formed, if you want to check some out, just let me know..

  • @arise212 You forgot a few of my favorite bands of that era: Asphyx (after MVD left Pestilence, 'The Rack' in particular), Autopsy, Benediction (the first especially with Barney Greenway), and of course, Carcass.

  • @arise212 Don't forget bands like Exhorder and Sadus!

  • @arise212 na dude like.. i know your an adult and all.. but i can assure you man, it lives... i know a bunch of 13/14/15/16 year old death metal/thrash fans... like 15 to 20 of em... it still exists slightly and im guessing that slight amount one day will burst because a lot of my older friends have bands with albums in the making and albums amde... WE'RE IN GOOD HANDS :)

  • @AIC2374 Metal will forever live. No matter how popular pop/ rap get we will one day rise bck to the top as the most epic genre ever. Continue your worship. I'm thirteen and I know more metal fans. You are right, "WE'RE IN GOOD HANDS :)"

  • @IchigoTheFallen ain't teh only 13 year old

  • @arise212 right.......god i hate living in this time.

  • @arise212 I agree but u forgot to mention pantera,obituary,and machinehead.

  • @arise212 If you can't find bands that good nowdays, you're not looking hard enough.

  • @arise212 What about Cannibal Corpse? Poser.

  • @PTR131 cannibal corpse is garbage

  • @horstkotte8 You are garbage. You worthless miscarriage, you don't even have the right to exist. Die you piece of shit!

  • @PTR131 thank you and i listen to death metal with substance like incantation, autopsy, immolation, and morpheus descends

  • @PTR131 There are tons of bands I like but didnt name (including cannibal corpse) due to LACK OF CHARACTER SPACE in the comment, retard!

  • @arise212 No, you are just a poser who pretends to like metal. You could have easily replaced one of those bands with Cannibal Corpse, retard.

  • @PTR131 Um, yeah because Cannibal Corpse is totally better than Morbid Angel, Death, or Suffocation right? LOL. Cannibal Corpse is like the Metallica of death metal. They are probably the only death metal band you have heard of. You are the real poser jackass. CC hasnt made a decent album since Barnes was in the band, thats why I didnt include them. George Fisher blows

  • @arise212 Not true man, Vile is one of my favorite Cannibal Corpse albums. Evisceration Plague sucked, Kill was alright, couldn't get into Gore Obsessed, The Bleeding was kinda meh. That's all I can think of. They're a really good DM band, and George Fisher is a really good vocalist. But yeah, Death and Suffocation are definitely better. FUCK THE ALLIANCE!

  • @arise212 Exactly. Cannibal Corpse is better and and more important than most of the bands you listed. And Metallica is fucking awesome. Stop pretending to know anything about metal.

  • @PTR131 If you think Cannibal Corpse is better than Death or Morbid Angel, you are a moron. Saying Metallica is awesome proves you are the real poser. Metallica hasnt made a good album since And Justice For All. After that they became corporate poser sell outs. Thanks for showing what a moron you are.

  • @arise212 ...And Justice for All was actually a shitty album, Master of Puppets was the last good Metallica album. And Cannibal Corpse really is better than Morbid Angel. Don't start crying now, just go back to Linkin Park and shut up.

  • @PTR131 Cannibal Corpse sucked after Barnes left the band. I highly doubt you have listened to one Morbid Angel or Death album. Your Metallica fanboyism proves that you are the real poser

  • @arise212 Without Metallica you wouldn't even have any of the bands you listed. Your comments only prove my point.

  • @PTR131 Thats not entirely true. They just happened to break out first. Exodus was kicking around at the same time. Kirk actually used to play with them way early on. That whole scene pretty much fired off and Metallica happened to break out first. Not saying they didn't have an impact, just saying its not as big as you think. You also had Testament coming out around the same time.

  • @PTR131 Cannibal Corpse is a fucking shit band. Entry-level Death Metal for entry-level fans.

If Metallica hadn't been around, we'd have missed out on two good albums, that's all. Most Thrash Metal bands were more influenced by Motorhead and Venom than they were by Metallica, they weren't even the first (or best) Thrash Metal band, and certainly not the most influential.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow This is a wrong statement that you made about Cannibal Corpse. You don't have to be a casual Death Metal fan to enjoy their music, even though they are popular amongst the casual DM fans.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow ONLY THING GOING FOR METALLICA IS THEIR ABILITY TO RIP OFF PEOPLE LIKE DAVE MUSTAIN , CLIFF BURTON AND JASON NEWSTED. THEY ARE GOOD BUISNESS PEOPLE BUT LACK ORIGINALITY OR REAL TALENT.WHEN TO TALENT IS GONE THEY SURE KNOW HOW TO SELL OUT.

  • @PTR131 Linkin Park is gay

  • @arise212 No shit.

  • @PTR131 Morbid Angel makes Cannibal Corpse look REALLY bad. saying cannibal is better than morbid took alot of brass, or ignorance. I suspect the latter. Trey and Pete's skill from Morbid shit all over cannibal's talent combined. no hate tho cannibal aint bad.

  • @PTR131 You fool, And Justice For All was perhaps one of their best albums!

  • @ThunderShot66 I'd say their prior albums were better.

  • @ThunderShot66 Incorrect.

AJFA was a shitty watered-down, commercial-tinged Thrash album. To say it's better than KEA or RtL is absurd.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow Master of puppets was even worse then ...And justice for all. Most overrated metal album of all time followed by Reign in blood by Slayer and British Steel by Judas priest.

  • Iwrestledabearonce did a great cover of this last night!

  • @arise212 1983-Late 90's imo

  • @arise212 You named the more known bands of that era that are fucking awesome, but man the more underground bands were fucking killer, Asphyx, Destruction, Pungent Stench, Unleashed, Disharmonic Orchestra, Acrostichon, Masacre (Colombia), Devastation, Obituary, and bands along those lines deserve a lot of credit! Martin Van Duren on vox here, one of the sickest Death Metal vocalist ever, thx for posting!

  • @afoolisharrangement I know, I would have named a lot more bands but youtube only allows barely any room when making comments.

  • @arise212 You missed Carcass, Autopsy and Cannibal Corpse

  • @PleaseGoAway1000 I didnt have enough room. Youtube comments only allow certain number of characters. I also didnt include Vader, Benediction, Asphyx, Morgoth, Sadus, Ripping Corpse, or Obituary, because there wasnt enough room!

  • Comment removed

  • @arise212 Ahhh, ripping corpse, nice 1! Entombed, Napalm Death, I suppose the list could go on and on

  • @arise212 don't lose all hope for modern death metal :P there still some fucking awesome underground bands out there: Dead Congregation, Necrovation, Necros Christos, Ulcerate and Portal being great examples. Some old legends like Immolation and Bolt Thrower still kicking too!

  • @arise212 Fa9YS7bj9Wo well i like technical death metal 8D lolol

  • @arise212 Listen to havok! then answer me ;)

  • @arise212 I fucking hate it when people say core bands are just people trying to play death metal and failing. Obviously those bands never really listened to much old school death metal, which is why its doesn't really come out very death metallish. Patrick Mameli said in an interview that death metal is not hard and anyone can play it. That is why he decided to mix it up with the Spheres album. Its just funny how highly you praise death metal, as if there aren't other good genres out there.

  • @arise212 AMEN

  • @arise212 No. More like 1986 to 1999 - You missed great Opeth albums, great Cryptopsy albums, great Gorguts albums, great Death albums, tons of stuff! Sure, Consuming Impulse is good, but so is The Sound of Perseverance or None So Vile, which came out in 1998 and 1996 respectively.

  • @Bassbait I understand how someone can be so passionate about metal that they'd disagree with the best metal era, but come on... nobody cares. I mean, precisely because you love it you should respect it enough to know NOT to polute this video with random stupid and pointless arguments. No matter how meaningless they are, it's just childish.

  • @ProcreatingSorg Not polluting a video with anything. I'm just responding to a comment. The best way to pollute videos is to troll, spam, or discourage any form of sincere conversation. Nobody cares about anything anybody says, it doesn't change my wanting to comment. I wasn't arguing, I was just pointing out that great albums didn't just disappear all of a sudden by 1994. What truly pollutes videos is when you think that being respectful to metal bands is disrespectful for no good reason.

  • @arise212 You're forgetting doom and black metal. They've had very strong periods and are only getting better and more diverse, in my opinion. In the underground at least.

  • @RevoBong All black metal is underground.

  • @7792thereaper Dimmu Borgir, Borknagar, Cradle Of Filth (as far as they're black metal) and Immortal to name a few are not underground (anymore). But yeah, most black metal is 'underground'.

  • @RevoBong If they're not underground, doesn't that mean they are mainstream? Not arguing, just curious to see if you know something I don't.

  • @7792thereaper Yeah pretty much ;) Of course, what defines mainstream? Candlemass are one of the most popular doom bands, but I wouldn't consider them mainstream. Dimmu Borgir, etc. are pretty mainstream though, as in, people would know them before they'd actually know the black metal genre.

  • @RevoBong If you hear it on the radio or on TV, then it's mainstream, that's what mainstream is. You won't hear black metal on the radio, the government wouldn't allow it.

  • @7792thereaper If that's your definition of mainstream then Dimmu are neither underground nor mainstream. I consider them mainstream in the metal subculture though. And do you really think the government would censor music? It pretty much depends on the station I'd guess. The problem here in Holland is that there's just too little bandwidth for extreme radio stations, which is still ridiculous, but not exactly censorship.

  • @RevoBong Well, that's the way it is here in the U.S. They don't even allow cussing on the radio. Bands that have cussing in their songs have to edit them before they can go on the radio.

  • @7792thereaper You should look up bands like Altar of Plagues, Fen, Lantlôs, Weakling, Lifelover, Ulver, Shining or Drudkh if you'd like to experience some pretty unknown yet popular atmospheric black metal bands! Hypothermia or Life Is pain are good for some depressive black metal. If you're looking for dragging doom, look up Dark Castle, Ufomammut, Sleep, Electric Wizard, Neurosis or other sludge/stoner bands.

  • 0:47 great riff or best riff?

  • Fuckin badass and then some *****

  • I remember 1989 - fucking awesome year for death metal

so insanly many awesome bands coming up, pure energy in my headphones, felt like bursting with awesomeness back then!

Everyone should have made this experience - Being able to be part of the birth of a complete new musicstyle was hell of ride!
