@ejay1118 Cassandra Peterson designed the character Elvira it was nothing based off of vampira you can check the origins of elvira video for the facts,Vampira just thought that she tried to copy her and it was proven that she didn't do anything such as character stealing, Elvira was made by Cassandra and that is where the fact's stand....

I'm saying they (the producers) told her she was hired to be Vampira and when Vampira tried to sue they (the producers) turned around and said; "OK, now your name is Elvira." This was in an interview on the Tonight show, I'm sorry I didn't keep it.

@ejay1118 And im saying they (the producers) didnt plan on hiring her (cassandra peterson) to act as Vampira that was never even mentioned, It was only when her (Elvira) popularity began to rise Maila Nurmi ( vampira) tryed to sue Cassandra for stealing her act, but she lost because it was proven that the 2 characters only had similarites but Vampira being more of a serious spooky type,while Elvira was more of a sexy comedic type but still with the dark look,that is the only similarity.

@ejay1118 Nurmi was working on the project at first then she quit when they refused to hire Lola Falanaas vampira so the casting calls went out and peterson won the role. Producers left it up to her to create the role's image. She and best friend Robert Redding came up with the sexy/vampire look after producers rejected her original idea to look like Sharon Tate in The Fearless Vampire Killers. when Nurmi left the project the idea to use the name Vampira stopped. Elvira never planned to use it.

@ejay1118 But yes at first they were just going to revive the Vampira show, but had conflicts with Maila Nurmi who wanted them to get Lola but they decided to cancel all plans of vampira all together and decided they wanted a fresh look and a new face and that is why Cassandra was hired and it was left up to her to design the image :)
