  • best solution I have ever found is to just mash the keys until I get a human. Worked great 2 years ago with HP. I would be talking to a person that speaks perfect English in the US within 5 minutes.

    My guess is this backdoor was to help people that were having trouble with the menus

  • I hate when my ISP says "There's a problem in your area". That's funny - I know you don't have call display / phone number lookups built into your IVR, so how do you know where I'm even calling from? You haven't even looked up my account so how can you know my problem is related to your outage?

  • I hate it when I call tech support and they ask me if the computer is plugged in... Someone asked me that after I already told him the computer was on and I had a picture on the monitor... I wanted to punch the guy through the phone.

  • Not to piss in your pocket, but without the RJ45 being plugged in you would'nt of been able to access the router config pages... Other than that, preeety spot on...

  • Yeah we realize there were a few things technically wrong with it. It is in fact a real working router we used as a broken one. lol Thanks for the feedback though.

  • @JCournoyer Hey maybe the computer was getting the routers IP using a wireless adapter, thats how you were able to access linksys config gui

    Judging by the antenna right in front of the camera, and the fact its a laptop computer, I'm guessing it's a wireless router. Just though I'd point that out.

    That's bs, my router allows access from wireless devices into the configuration pages.

    Perhaps your router doesn't allow you to do it without RJ45.

    Here in the UK, BT Internet tech support sucks arse through a straw. For anyone reading, you 'can' get a UK tech support person (who is way more helpful and knows what he's doing) if you 'complain'.

    The bloody Indian lady on the other end had me open the entire phone line box up! I mean, what the hell!? The UK guy fixed it within 2 minutes!
