does any one else find this thing hard to use? granted I have next to no experience with recording equipment, but I was told this was easy to use ! not so far!
In need of a bit of help. Does anyone know, if its possible, how to individually choose an effect on each track while using the Multi-track mode? Im using 3 mics to record 3 different string instruments at the same time, but when I choose multitrack for live recording, I can only choose from the Multi-track effects which are terrible. I want to be able to assign each mic to its own vocal effect. Any help would be awwwesome. thanks.
@jakacspear, I've been messing around with the br-1600 for a few months so Im still new to recording. What I've done is: 1- record dry with no effect on multi-track mode . 2- Once track is recorded, I add effects to it.. 3-Then bounce to a different track or a v-track (if Im out of tracks) Then go to "track move" if I want to re-assign to the playback track.( Hope this makes sense). The DVD from these guys helped me quite a bit.
I LOVE this recorder I have put together some really sweet mixes check them out click downloads and put on the head phones let me know if you like the tunes
i was about to get this,id used it with a friend who had it,but i decided to build a computer and go that route eventhough im a complete idiot with computers,my advice: go with computer recording;its very easy after you watch all the youtube videos on it,i went with the focusrite saffire pro 24dsp and cubase 5,sound quality, editing options: soooooooo worth it,it cost me less than this too!
I have a Peavy VYPYR guitar amp and it has a USB jack. I want to play the amp and record direct into my Br-1600...but one problem, the USB jack in my amp and recorder is the same square-head input. Can I get a USB cord with 2 square heads on each end, and is it possible to record through my amp to my recorder this way? Any input would be greatly appeciated!
hit the vtrack button on the unit n a screen will come up with a load of lines on it use the spinny wheel to chose the v track u wanna use theres 16 v tracks on each track n u can record on all 16 of the v tracks so select the v track u wanna record on using the spinny wheel then click the record and play n it works just like that. then ucan choose a diffferent v track next time n then listen to the different ones u have recorded n choose the best
HELP wats the best distortion effect on the unit to use for a sound like guitar in blink 182, madina lake, linkin park etc. i have an electric guitar n cant find a decen effect HELP
Hi, a good rock sounding guitar effect for me is number 17 in effects-sorry I cant remember wat its called, it has good reverb and gain combined, I recorded with this effect many times and for me it fills the speakers. hope this helps
Getting a effect from those bands that you mentioned?? Just get a trash can and hit it with your guitar and that will sound similar to those horrible bands!!! They use trash cans and metal cans to make their shity guitar tones.
Two ways .1 burn tracks to disc (wav or aiff ) then just use tis to import . This is done useing DATA SAVE?LOAD and not audio write.....Or 2 the easyiest
Connect USB . click utility...then click USB...Then click export....pick your track...if you want to export more than one ...use cursr to go right then value dial to change to number2 and repeat ....You can even export V tracks on same track ...Then just click go ...It starts to write then your computer will recognise br1600
get the usb cable and go to 'export' on the br1600 menu- make sure you dont have media player or winamp running on your pc at the time. Export it. it'll indicate when its complete. Go to My Computer and find the BR1600 folder that will pop up there. Go into the folder. Go into USB folder. Copy and paste the track to a folder on your PC.
Hey if any one can give me some advice on how to work with the discreet drum loop tracks it would be mostr helpful. Im have trouble setting them out properly..thanks
I find mine is awesome for recording jams and songs when everythings already thought out, but working ideas / changing arrangements / drums/loop arrangement etc.. hard enough work to lose creativity when coming up with new ideas... but thats just me.
we love this machine! check, 'Warren Project' out. everything there is done with the '1600'.... and we recrd straight in live. most of the percussion is live with the cheapest of instrments.
Man what a drag.... "boom, just drop them right in" - yeah right. Takes you all night to set up 8 bars of 'song', but hey, it's "boom" and "awesome" - That nerd in the video is easily pleased. This machine would be out of the window within the hour if it was in my studio, that's for sure!
I'd have to agree with dynobutter. What I did was: I bought a Yamaha DTXIII S electronic drumkit. It plugs directly into the BR1600CD (no mics, no b.s.) and lots of killer drum sounds built in to the kit. (anything you can imagine, plus you can make your own kits) It sounds just as good if not better than real drums, and it sounds REAL beacause you are actually playing the kit. (no robotic drumbeats) the quality is far superior to mic'd drums and it will only cost you a little over $1,000. Thanx
In my expierience its not worth taking the time it takes and the frustration, use another means of drum track, whether it be a keyboard or a drum machine, or whatever you have, because the drums on this thing are awkward to use well and obnoxious sounding even when done with care. Its an amazing machine though, I have had it since the day it came out and it hasn't let me down yet!
Hey! Thanx for the advice. It DOES take forever to make a drumtrack on it! LOL Thanx again! And the BR-1600 is an awesome recorder to have. I love it. Well, later.
DAMN THESE PEOPLE!!!!! LOL They should of put this DVD in the box WITH their product!!! I just dont know if the custom-drum beats can be put INTO the songs, or if you have to record an actual drumset for those parts. Anybody know if it's possible? Thanx.
In this little tutorial he makes the drum kit function look like a much more simple and effective tool to integrate into a song than I have ever found it to be. Initially it seems great, but you really have to be primarily creating a drum oriented track, and build your song around the idea that the drums are going to be kinda difficult to put in unless you really make it simple for yourself, and have really obvious tempo changes with the other instruments and stuff.
hey man i have a roland 1200 can i set a same drum work with this ? or is different?
