what a bunch of fuckin retards... BLEW A ROD.... camera mans all like "oh shit" surprised lmao... but seriously i see no point in this video other than to see how much boost it handles on stock rods and this is a shit example... and if it was an example why did they do it 3 FUCKING TIMES,, fucking retards
Not supposed to read boost at the compressor housing huh? That's why Turbosmart tells you that's where you should run to from to the boost control solenoid for accurate readings on the E-boost.
@1real4boy so when does the title claim truth you moron? I have two of these same videos posted elswhere and its claimed to be a K24A1 bottom with an A2 head tuned by Jason out of texas. Besides, it was a question not a statement. Even seen one of these "?"? Jackass.
how much power could a stock k20a2 a fullblown race turbo ON A 35R put down because i want atleast 500hp on pump gas i dont want no e85 or race gas lol...just 91gas and wat kind of tranny would be good gor hwy and on the street????
@marek0086 you might be dumb my b series is completely stock down to the bolt holding the ground on my valve cover and i run 24psi daily and everyone knows k's are stronger then b's dumb shit
@marek0086 AHHH! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA seriously? reading at the turbo outlet would give you a really strange reading when the throttle closes lol. o and i was running 91 octane with 9.8/1 comp ratio and 24 psi with no knock, if you even know what knock is and what causes it, and when we turn the boost up we run e85 on a differnt fuel and timing map ta ha ha good try noob
@marek0086 did you just realise how dumb you just sounded and give up? if you read boost before the throttle you can read vacuum and the computer needs to be able to read vacuum to keep the car running also we have read boost at the compressor but that was only to see how our intercoolers effected boost level at the manifold so yeah it does happen but not for a normal boosted application where you need to read boost acurately
@marek0086 oooo so you try to correct me, then when i prove you wrong you tell me you were just explaining the incorrect way to doit lol wow thats a new one. you are on a truely new level of stupid and btw if you read through you were trying to prove me wrong which you failed at doing what you did was prove you are in no way competent enough to be commenting on anything automotive unless they want to know how to get false readings and/or generally wrong information. lol go take your nap young'n
i like how youre trying to say buy k series when the car just blew up.. like i know it woulld have blown on that much psi anyways... but show me the vid where it made 488 on 33pounds instead lol
they dont did this tuning the motor, it just to see how much psi the STOCK K20 can handle, (for the stupid people that are talking shit).
with 33 psi they did 588 hp with stock internals, that is A LOT OF POWER for a stock internal motor and didnt blow (With 33psi, explanation for stupid people again).
FTW! super weak. How about you guys tune the engine properly as to not blow it up? Any engine can make a ton of power if pushed to the breaking point.
i remember this, they were testing to see how much a stock k20 could handle, no mods. Pretty amazing. Im glad i went with the k20. K-series all the way.

wtf!?!?! stock internals running a turbo? thats fucking stupid if i may say. trying to run it on high boost (15-20psi or more)?? that shit doesnt work that way on stock internals!! thats why it blew up! IDIOTS!!!
Yes, it comes naturally aspirated from the factory (unless you are super fortunate to have one of the limited factory boosted ones that Honda makes for some JDM versions)
yes, I have a turbo K20A2 that I swapped myself into my 91' Civic HB. Stock sleeves, crank, head, stock bearings. Forged 9:1 comp. ratio JE pistons, eagle rods, ARP studs. Puts our 750whp. I am also the owner of SpoonerTuner com
No videos. At least not yet. Car looks like crap. lol After I get all the little bugs worked out of it, then I'm going to stip it down and through some final paint on it. Then I'll do a video. ;) I love the EF. I just love rock'n it old school. That and it is super light.
i never knew that!good info if its true!does the factory boosted jdm k20s have lower comp ratios and shit or the same high compression motor with just a turbo?
a srt4 neon has a turbo 2.3 liter and only makes 50 to 60 hp more and the old cobalt had an ecotech 2.0 liter supercharged engine and made only 200 hp plus the reliability of the k series engine is way more than any forced induction engine
It does not matter what size/type turbo they have setup. And you don't need to know that info when doing a rough calculation based on the numbers already provided. If calculating it based on a situation without any real world testing on a dyno then you would need all the info you could get your hands on. But this is not the case here.
papaown you are exactly right it would make a huge difference IF he swapped the turbo after that first run. BUT he did not make any changes from the first run to the last one, do so the calculation I made is valid.
588hp on stock internals... Cool if you wanna show off on a dyno but try it a few times on the street and the epa will come after you for dumping oil on the ground.

Your diesel is designed to run by knocking, so its built for a situation of stress, unlike a stock gas-injected motor that should not see constant knocking.. Howver on 45psi your Cummins might compete with a stock K20 Car, so you pretty much fail.
I fail at what, I wasn't competing with anything just saying that diesels are built to handle high boost pressure. And knocking/detonation in gas engines and diesels are very different. Knocking in gas engines is unstable combustion with the fuel igniting without spark... very bad. Knocking in diesels is just rapid heat expansion, there is no spark. But seriously, a stock K20 with no turbo would get embarrased by my truck, it's as fast as my stock STI in the quarter(13.4)
You're retarded if you have ANY car pushing 42 lbs of boost on stock internals that bitch will blow up as you can see, I'm just surprised they were able to do 30+ lbs the previous time on stock internals
whatever, the engines are pretty similar in terms of components and parts anyway guy.
Apparently the k series ones were designed for the type R civic. So don't blame me for not knowing too much about honda engines I am a Mazda guy alright honda boy
For ppl who dont know who st00pid is, they did thsi for R&D to see how much a stock motor can hold up on boost.
Revil86 im sure u cant even afford for him to tune your slow POS civic dumb ass.
THEY ONLY DID IT TO SEE HOW MUCH A STOCK K SERIES CAN HOLD ON BOOST. obviously they had more motors lmao. Kudos to cheesefrog and st00pid for showing us that a stock k20 can be boosted upwards to 30psi all day on stock internals.
yeah people shut up and stop crying its only a civic anyway those things are everywhere they are dime a dozen I swear every time I walk outside I trip over one

Can't believe how many ignorant, useless, non-contributing comments people make on Youtube. The K20Ax motors are an engineering masterpiece.
Based on his 33psi of boost = 588 wheel hp
41.2psi of boost calculates to = 701 wheel hp (Or 761bhp at flywheel)
hp
So that STOCK motor did not blow until it was boosted to 761bhp!!!

god that much boost handled on stocks, pretty damn good
negutiv 4 years ago
For ppl who dont know who st00pid is, they did thsi for R&D to see how much a stock motor can hold up on boost.
Revil86 im sure u cant even afford for him to tune your slow POS civic dumb ass.
THEY ONLY DID IT TO SEE HOW MUCH A STOCK K SERIES CAN HOLD ON BOOST. obviously they had more motors lmao. Kudos to cheesefrog and st00pid for showing us that a stock k20 can be boosted upwards to 30psi all day on stock internals.

To everyone talking down on St00pid's work you need to do your research before you open your mouth, and the owner of that car didn't mind a damn bit.
