  • They must mean stock INTERNALS, because there is no way you could run even 20psi with stock head gasket and fasteners!

    But even with a MLS head gasket and ARP fasteners, i cant believe they were able to run it at 30+psi without breaking the bottom-end!!!

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA seriously? reading at the turbo outlet would give you a really strange reading when the throttle closes lol. o and i was running 91 octane with 9.8/1 comp ratio and 24 psi with no knock, if you even know what knock is and what causes it, and when we turn the boost up we run e85 on a differnt fuel and timing map ta ha ha good try noob

  • @marek0086 did you just realise how dumb you just sounded and give up? if you read boost before the throttle you can read vacuum and the computer needs to be able to read vacuum to keep the car running also we have read boost at the compressor but that was only to see how our intercoolers effected boost level at the manifold so yeah it does happen but not for a normal boosted application where you need to read boost acurately

  • Yes, it comes naturally aspirated from the factory (unless you are super fortunate to have one of the limited factory boosted ones that Honda makes for some JDM versions)

    2.0 liter 4 cylinder N/A engine making 200hp easy

    a srt4 neon has a turbo 2.3 liter and only makes 50 to 60 hp more and the old cobalt had an ecotech 2.0 liter supercharged engine and made only 200 hp plus the reliability of the k series engine is way more than any forced induction engine

    Based on his 33psi of boost = 588 wheel hp

    41.2psi of boost calculates to = 701 wheel hp (Or 761bhp at flywheel)

  • It does not matter what size/type turbo they have setup. And you don't need to know that info when doing a rough calculation based on the numbers already provided. If calculating it based on a situation without any real world testing on a dyno then you would need all the info you could get your hands on. But this is not the case here.

  • Your diesel is designed to run by knocking, so its built for a situation of stress, unlike a stock gas-injected motor that should not see constant knocking.. Howver on 45psi your Cummins might compete with a stock K20 Car, so you pretty much fail.

  • I fail at what, I wasn't competing with anything just saying that diesels are built to handle high boost pressure. And knocking/detonation in gas engines and diesels are very different. Knocking in gas engines is unstable combustion with the fuel igniting without spark... very bad. Knocking in diesels is just rapid heat expansion, there is no spark. But seriously, a stock K20 with no turbo would get embarrased by my truck, it's as fast as my stock STI in the quarter(13.4)
