my first REAL truck wes a 97 sierra z71 4x4 ext. cab with a vortec 350 in it. i still have it. not exactly a powerhouse by todays standards but its more than enough to get the job done. only vehicle id trade it for would be a 09 sierra.

so much power but i saw a 2007 gmc truck with a cheap plastic tailgate handle broken off and the tailgate strapped up with a rachet strap like sooo many other older gm's and why didnt they use all steel ?

thats GM cutting corners again, the lever for the seats for almost all GM SUVs and Trucks break after 1 month

we had a 07 Tahoe and in 1 month it broke, a 06 chevy express and same thing, my friends 07 sierra 1500 same thing

and it takes a whole day for them to fix this small problem, GM is really in trouble if they cant make better quality vehicles

sorry man but I have never had that problem with any of my gm vehicles. I have had 6, only problem was an a/c squeak.

What is the fuel mileage like on them ? With diesel fuel as much as it is,if it gets poor fuel economy,the cost of insurance,and maintance plus the expense of the truck, your talking about lots of money...

i have an identical truck only difference is mine is silver birch and it pulls 13k pounds up grocers grade (7% grade) on 166 west to the coast at 55 mph
