  • Have you entertained the thought of large honeycombed mirrors?

  • Great!!!

Where are the latest updates? How many finished telescopes?

Do you sell this giant mirrors?

  • Hey! This video has been a random run in while searching

"crafting glass art" and I just wanted to know how that turbo molecular pump is looking? Sounds pretty interesting being from new mexico.

  • so whats the vacuum chamber used for in making telescope mirrors? i dont get that part

  • im here because my daughter wants a telescope, you and i have alot in common,

    that is nothing is impossible.

  • Yes, I've used prisms before instead of a secondary mirror, I prefer the secondary mirror though.

  • I have a question.Instead of using flat secondary mirror can I use a prism? i mean for newtonian scopes

  • That's a really nice selection of kit, you could also vacuum carbon fibre and bake it for maximum strength. With cf tubes think what you could have with a 32" mirror. Nice.

  • surreal ! god bless all of you there bravo

  • that would be awesome to build a telescope completely from scratch..

  • Awesome, guys! Keep up the good work. I am working on building just an 8" dobsonian, with purchased mirrors.

  • Fantastic!!! it is always amazing in those times of mass produced hysteria there are always people that actually use their brain to build something unique.

  • nice work

  • This is great but it'd be easier to follow if you guys spoke to camera.

  • It's only a hobby, nothing more.

  • I've been reading a lot about telescope making and mirror grinding lately, but this is the first time I have seen a reference to a vacuum chamber. What is it used for? Great videos, keep them coming!

  • the vacuum chamber is probably used to coat the mirror blank, by evaporating some material at high temperature.

  • Ah...Duh...I never considered they would be coating themselves! Thanks.

  • And how do you think i should make the telescope at home condition? To make those devices it's imposible for me. What to do to make my own telescope? :(

  • This is pretty amazing. I'd love to see the end result of your labors. You have brought amateur telescope making to a new level, that much is certain.

  • Amazing... you guys are brilliant

  • Now that is Great -stuff !

  • Hey, this is Alan. You've done a lot of work since I was last in that garage. The lingo still throws me for a loop.
