Oh... maybe someone changed the wikipedia page. Wait wait. Keith Moon died from an overdose of amphetamine pills. His doctor didn't know he had a pill problem. I can back this up too. In the movie Quadrophenia, amphetamine pills was the main drug of choice for the mods. Gosh I really don't know what the truth is anymore. History is tampered a lot. One thing I do know is he's my hero, because he had ADHD just like me and used his hyperactivity to becoming the best drummer in history.
@Ajdino1973 Bon Scott died in a car...Keith died in bed from an accidental overdose of an anti-alcoholism drug...it's cruelly ironic that a long-time drinker would die when He tried to quit...typical of the heartlessness of life!
Look, the Beatles and the Stones were okay and had some good songs BUT THE WHO had a different connection to something a bit beyond in our conscience. You Who fans know what i'm talking about. But for the rest of ya, when you hear that redundant question about "The Beatles or The Stones?," just answer THE WHO!!!!!!!! No apologies!!!!!
This is a great song and I am a huge who fan but i think they shouldnt have gone on without keith. His death really chnaged everything. I think that they shoyld have done more quadrophenia stuff with keith imagine that
The Who continued on after Keith's death to their credit, but the music was so bland and uninspiring. Sorry, but Keith was the heavy artillery. I even think Roger admitted that. They just went through the motions after Keith.
If the music was bland, it was largely down to the songs Pete was bringing to the band. On the one hand, he apparently was saving a lot of songs for his solo records. And on the other, apparently a lot of songs that he did bring to The Who, Roger vetoed for one reason or another. I remember someone suggesting that The Who COULD have recorded Rough Boys, but Daltrey didn't care for the homoerotic implications of the lyrics.
@Kohntarkosz I heard that too somewhere. I heard there was some tension between the two for some of the "questionable" lyrics. I also heard that fistfights weren't uncommon. How the hell did they make such masterpieces when they essentially hated each other?
@AndJusticeForMe because the huge rock machine that is the who was bigger than any one of them individualy and thats why they still here in 2011 because its about the music not them individualy
Man.....Entwistle just tears it up in this song. Go to 0:34 and he just looks so cool there standing like a statue like he always did, getting it done on the bass (I love that Alembic. Screw the Buzzard bass.)
I don't know what you think about it but I like those clothes :) I think Roger could perform in a dress and still look great :) As you say, great music!
I didn't think the early 80's style wasn't bad for them. The skinny tie on Roger and the rolled up sleeves on Pete looks pretty cool. Not until later on down the road they start to look weird, I think. John of course always look spiffy.
I understand what you're saying, but the Allman Bros. and the Grateful Dead didn't feel the need to change their appearance because it was the early 80's, and it didn't appear to hurt their popularity very much. (Actually, I think it enhanced their popularity.)
That being said, the WHO is greatest rock band ever!!!
@thaibites I reckon they look pretty cool, normaly I hate the 80's outfits but it worked all right here. Anyway nothing's worse than Mick Jagger's outift on the Start Me Up vid!

Sorry bird. Keith died in 1979, from a drug overdose in his car. Really sad he didn't get to see the 80s. I wonder what he would've been like.

Pete looks a bit strung out during the concert. Particularly on WGFA.

To EuchridEucrow1, you're right. He was doing coke and heroin at the time. He got straight just before recording the "It's Hard" album.
