Wow, if Mya & Alicia Keys have Jamaican parentage, they CERTAINLY kept that quiet. All I've ever heard from mya is that she's half italian and "african American". We certainly know A. Key's mom is White and she has a Black dad, but she never mentioned Jamaican heritage.

No most Haitians and most Sub-saharan Africans are not White..but everybody knows that. A person can be black in colour and be mixed, didn't you know? It does not mean that because a person is Jamaican, has black skin (even blackest in the class) that they have can only have 'pure' blood. Genetics are like that for mixed folk.

Wow, if Mya & Alicia Keys have Jamaican parentage, they CERTAINLY kept that quiet. All I've ever heard from mya is that she's half italian and "african American". We certainly know A. Key's mom is White and she has a Black dad, but she never mentioned Jamaican heritage.
So to be honest, even if they are Jamaican, I couldn't care less. Because I guarantee, aint no Puerto Rican 'star' who won't tell u from jump where her people hail from. Thats the way it should be too.

The majority of Jamaicans are decendents of various african tribes...there are 53 countries in africa alone...the tribes themselves have blacl people of all diffrent skin types, face structures, and hair texture..i am so sick of people asking are they mixed?as if any black person who isnt the deepest shade of black must have a white parent lurking around. also jamaicans have moroons who were the natives on the island, as well as european and spainard influence, no diffrent than any island

And most Jamaicans are not pure black...I have welsh, Chinese and ancestry, and so does many others.
