They have it going on big time. Only thing that THEIR age affected was David Lee Roth's extreme mid air jumps. He still has his great kicks though and more flexible than a lot of younger people. They simply Rock!

Sorry, it's cool and all, but let's be honest, it's fucked-up Dave fucking up a great song. Thanks to Dave's bullshit, Van Halen was guaranteed to never earn a place in history as one of rock's "great live bands." His lame "look at all the people here tonight" song-stopping crap was less tolerable in person than it is in this video. No one ever knew what the fuck he was talking about - the cheering wasn't for his yap, it was to encourage Ed to start playing again and shut Dave up.

This was from the pre-Hagar era when Van Halen was a ROCK band and not a Pop band. The band's attitude softened with Hagar. Even if you like some of those songs you have to admit that their focus was on radio-friendly hits and not balls-to-the-wall rock and roll.
