  • Aiiight, I've tabbed out the thing from 5:51 to 6:51, msg me with your email I will send the tab (You will need Guitar Pro 6)

  • Holy crap. I now know what it is actually like when you're creating a cool song. I think my fingers are buster or something though... they sound nothing like this.

  • son of chuck noris :)

  • What's the song in the video-intro? :)

And that thing he starts playing @ 3:34 to around 4:50 , is it a song or just something he played? If anyone got tabs, please send me! :)

  • @HelpOrWhat Ethereal Drain.. It's one of Darkest Hour's songs

  • tht solo he was playing at 5:10 sounded hella friking computerized in the song it was from. i have the album. i cant remember the name of the song though. *face palm* i know it was on the album deliver us.but i didnt know he played tht solo. i thought most of it was the keyboards or sumthing.

  • 0:00-7:34 best part!

  • I'm into 7 and 8 string players more, but man this guy definitely makes it to the top of my 6 stringer list

  • I crapped, cried, screamed and fell on the floor face down after the Tri tone and acoustic tap.

  • fuck yeah an ethereal drain!!!! sweeeet!!

  • what song is at 3:42 ?

  • @xXFallenKinghtXx An Ethereal Drain by Darkest Hour

  • what guitar is that?

  • @solosolo1234567 esp ltd H seires deluxe..

  • the end is fukin AWSOME

  • The Tapping riff at the end sounds a bit like Roses for the dead - Funeral for a friend haha

  • Is the guy at the computer buz from Unearth?

  • from 4.28 what is that? :O (L)

  • it's from the song "an ethereal drain" of DH,listen to it and u'll see

  • AT 5:50 this song called Changing Faces uses that clean tone the band's called Sicarus

  • no kris made that. he said himself in the interview

  • @AvengeTheHopelsss i know he made that up himself.

  • oh my bad then

  • have sb. the tabs for the song at 5:50??

  • yea i have tabs for the clean tapping from 5:50

  • @drlaza Dude, can you send me them? :D

  • 5:50

Eargasm. For fuck's sake that is so good seriously why is that not a world known riff?

  • hell yeah

he knows how to write stuff

i love every creation of him as it is

if it was world famous, kris would be unreachable and probably wont be working for jamplay

  • Yeah you're probably write.

Can I have the tab please? I must play that part.

  • yep, send me a pm with an adress and ill be sending

  • do you guys have any idea how he does that thing at 3:24? its incredibly fast

  • @drlaza It's just straight up tremolo picking, practice practice practice man .. :)

  • @HelpOrWhat yeah, cool, really fast

  • 5:51 to 6:16 anyone know what song that is from his new album?

  • i think its just his hown riff, he plays it in another jamplay video, I think its the Q&A one.

  • 5:51 to 6:16 was killlller.

  • fucking AMAZING. i NEED the tabs for that! what is it?!?! is it a song?

  • fuck an ethereal drain is in D standard??? MINDBLOWING

  • 4:29 best riff i have heard in a long time

  • its from an ethereal drain. my fav off deliver us

  • its not buckethead, its a similar triad tapping, but not the same

  • Buckethead created the triad tapping, its the same thing, he's just playing it on different octaves.

  • i'm seeing alot of string gauge questions.

i'd personally say hes using 11-52's.

i use these (ernie ball beefy slinkies)

  • he uses sti 10-52s

  • that clean 6 finger tap part was sick

  • that was a thing that buckethead plays..

    kris norris is playing buckethead!

  • umm nope. sorry but its not. its a DH solo. check out the song "full imperial collapse" off of their deliver us album.

  • yeah i own the album.

the tapping part at 5:13 is a buckethead thing.

  • yeah your right, they even say thats that buckethead thing

  • Joe Satriani was doing something very similar way before Buckethead on surfing with the alien.

  • midnight is the song your thinking of, i thought the same when i heard this, awesome track \m/

  • kris norris is really good. but it's not that hard to do that tapping stuff .

  • I prefer ernie ball power slinkies for drop c on a 25.5 scale. Lowest is a 48, and i have no tension problems.

  • i could tune to drop b no problem with the strings i use wich are 9-49.

  • not advised.

  • heavier gauge strings were designed for a reason.

    will do your guitar better.

  • BUT IT WILL SOUND LIKE ASSSSS

  • The Man is great . from MongoliA

  • Yes 49 is too low for the low C.

his C string seems pretty tense

  • ah i should of watched this video before i made my ethereal drain vid lol

    awesome video

  • That man is fucking great..end of.

  • For all you guys interested in learning how Kris plays and seeing a ton more of him, checkout our site. We're posting a lot of new lessons from him soon.

  • dude your awesome!!!! i love your playing!! bad ass! i love darkest hour and i just think you seriously know how to fucking play. fucking great!!!

  • that would fucking make my day and possibly my year to watch him shred in person privately all of his songs from darkest hour. fucking awesome.

  • i actually had the pleasure to watch him =]

he had a private 2 hour little show thing at a guitar store in my area

  • the "bucket head" sounding solo is off of full imperial collapse they wanted a bucket head like solo so kris threw one down just cause he can :)

  • What strings does he use? What gauge?

  • i imagine he probably uses 11-49s or larger

  • Ya I'd really like to know what gauge he uses also. Some form of 11's probably, but there's no way he's using a 49 for the low C (or D).

  • i played his custom sadist nation guitar one time on their bus and he uses pretty thick strings. I'd say the lowest string is no thinner than a 52 gauge. awesome guitarist.

  • Kris has a Job For A Cowboy hoodie! o.e it MUST be mine! :O Kris is the shittt yo. Best guitarist in the world :]

  • From 5:51 - 6:50, I agree with jasmmmm that IS a beautiful piece of music. Plz, im askin' this as a jamplay and darkest hour fan, do a lesson vid on that song! :D

  • It's improvised.

  • yea i know but still...

  • Yes it's called "An Ethereal Drain" from Darkest Hour. The Album is called Deliver us.

  • ive never heard this band. is 4:30 from one of their songs? id like to hear it

  • Great vid. I dig it just after 6:00pm.

  • awesome cant wait

  • Whoa!!!

    Friggin Awsome

  • 5:53-6:53 is one of the most beautiful pieces of music i've ever heard. Is that from an actual song, or just something he did for the vid? I'm completely unfamiliar with his work, so please forgive my ignorance.

  • Sounds like jordan by bucket head to me mate

  • nope its nothing like it...

just cus its two handed tapping doesn't mean its buckethead lol

  • Well buckethead uses alot of the same Shapes and all that shizzle :P

  • damnit i cant figure out what it is either

  • not only is this guy good, he can actully create cool riffs and songs

  • is he relatid to chuck?

  • lol i was thinking the same thing

  • WOW, awesome, can't wait for more.

  • awesome another metal guitarist

  • same

  • looking forward to these new vids
