I prefer ernie ball power slinkies for drop c on a 25.5 scale. Lowest is a 48, and i have no tension problems.

i played his custom sadist nation guitar one time on their bus and he uses pretty thick strings. I'd say the lowest string is no thinner than a 52 gauge. awesome guitarist.
