Persian traditional music is learned by rote form an authorized master and requires memorizing many small melodic pieces called gushe. Even though this video is improvised in a modal jazz genre similar to Miles' 50s Kind of Blue LP, it is also based on the Dashti mode of Persian traditional music and requires Persian instrumental skills.
