Because as a Volvo technician I can tell you that the standard system is best left alone. BOV's do not add to performance, they are best left to the boy racer brigade. A BOV will in the long run make a mess of your engine. Why did you fit it?
uhh yeah. because running rich for a minutes over the life of the car is going to 'make a mess of your engine.'
However, a CBV as fitted from the factory will eventually croak after a few 1bar lifts. That will make a mess of your turbo. Guess you don't know how much boost the 'standard system' can handle.
You haven't given a reason as to why they 'Ruin' your engine??? Your view, is the opposite of most major car manufactures, including Volvo!!! Are you talking about BOV's that vent externally or plumb-back type??? I agree that externally venting BOV's can cause a problem, if allowed to 'Suck air' at idle, but if they don't, i can't see that correctly adjusted they're harmful in any way??? They actually have two major advantages, faster boost response and reduced compressor surge.
That is some serious talent behind the wheel, and a real testament to what most Volvo owner's already know and the rest of the world has yet to figure out!
It was a knockoff Greddy. It is long gone, the sound was one thing but venting to atm made the car stumble. Its quiet now with a recirc setup and a real greddy (see later vids)

Those, who have heard it, felt it's power , know what i'm talking about... the long and strong 2nd gear, especially, when turbo engages ... "rrrrRRRRRRRR R R R R R" :P
true, it's been replaced since then. You hear it so loud because soundproofing is gone for airflow reasons. I want a recirc. setup but havent gotten to it yet, lazy.
Di you take this video on a special track day or on the regular "Touristenfahrten" ?
Correct me if I'm wrong but filming was forbidden on the NS if you drive on the regular "Touristenfahrten" ! Watch out because if the boys from the Nürburgring GmbH catches you, you might end up with a ban !?
