  • that was absolutely brilliant

  • The unfortunate thing about youtube is that it gives the opportunity to silly asses to make crass comments. I mean, what difference does it make that you feel that the 'ball was off-side..'......so what do you suggest???? To go back in time and the ref stops the play and calls a scrum!!!! You silly billy!!!!! What a great score!!!!

  • just awesome, i didnt know rugby was that good in those days! this video has just completely proved me wrong!

  • 0:58 pass foward??

  • @saldcq He ran onto the pass.

  • @saldcq nope

  • @saldcq no the player who caught the ball was on side at the time of the pass

  • ackerbee....what a pillock you are. Stop comparing. This is by far, the best try ever...the fact you can't distinguish between a football and a rugby ball, is of no concern of ours.

  • @shreiberrulz ....im not sure what you mean?.....re your comment that i dont know the diff between a rugby ball and a soccer ball??....i know my rugby mate and that is not the best try ever...sorry...maybe the best by brit players LOL!

  • I laugh out loud whenever i watch this try ...because NZ have been coming to the Brittish Isle for years and scoring many many tries equal to if not better than this one,(with few posted against them)...suddenly a mainly Welsh Barbar's team get up and score a half decent try and they celebrate and call it the best ever!!..absolutely hilarious!!...

  • @ackerbee You say that, but look at the army of ba bas eager tp get that try. The thing about the Barbarians in those days was it was a proper selection of the best in the world, to be filled with Welsh and english was a marvel. And they probably lost wages playing for the ba bas. Day off for training and a day off for the match. No overtime there then. The may have been lucky and nipped a few quid from wearing an umbro tracksuit.

  • @TheRealColey ...you sound like a half decent bloke ....from the prospective of a kiwi ...our guys are no different in that these guys were poorly paid farmers and labourers etc. from a country of 3 million they would come to Brit and play many games over a short time with huge expectations from the crowds and public at home....i think you would have to agree that we punch well above our weight and have been very successful at it ,so to call this "the best try ever '..is kind of dissapointing.

  • It's phil bennet .. ;)

  • Who is the Number 10 with those brutal sidesteps?

  • Wow. Looks exactly like my edit I posted a couple of years before this. Guess great minds edit alike!

  • the best try EVER!!

  • That is some SHOCKING AB tackling. Two obvious high tackles and countless missed tackles! Also another good example of why AB teams should not kick the ball! ha ha.

  • Now that was a BRILLIANT try, and rugby really was different back then, i mean the rules and such have obvioulsy changed grately over the years, but it just seems more, rushed and...i can't find the word!

  • phil bennett was the 1st XV head coach at my last school
