  • I lived in calgary my whole life besides the past 3 years now I live in kelowna BC and I miss calgary a lot because it's very diverse compared to other places and depending on what neighborhood you live in it's very clean and nice...but Ive always lived in like forest lawn and loove it ;D

  • West Edmonton Mall is dated and boring.

  • in Ontario most ppl live paycheque to paycheque lifestyle despite their hard work. Is it same in Calgary?

  • hahaha yep gotta love it then we get the chinooks for about 3 days and its ok but they dont clean up the melted snow and it turns to ice, so if any of you people want to come to calgary come in the summer.

  • this is the worst depiction of calgary ever. LOL @ NOT EVERYONE IS A DAMN COWBOY

  • THEY DID NOT EVEN MENTION FOREST LAWN OR INTERNATIONAL AVENUE! ITS INTERNATIONALLY KNOWN

  • i live in calgary and people are not cowbow as the other person said only in july but so you know people are bitches here!! and i think edmonton is nicer cause the malls .

  • I'll make a video on how Calgary looks for about 10 months a year. -35 degrees and SNOW SNOW SNOW SNOW SNOW SNOW. Trust me, you DONT want to have a walk around in minus 35.

  • @alphaelena lmao... so tru so tru... I love how they also said that the downtown area is the main tourist attraction... well I got some news for you tourists.. after business hours (6 pm) downtown becomes a ghost town and the only company you will have are the homeless.

  • @alphaelena i walked 4 hours in minus 35 and yeah you don't want to do it

  • Calgary is so boring. I visited in October 2010. I'm from bc and when I left Vancouver it was +17. when I landed in Calgary it was +3. The nightlife sucked, and as soon as u left downtown it was suburbia everywhere!! Not a fun town and whats with the transit? For all the hype Calgary seems to be getting it's not worth it. Boring town. Vancouver is 50x better

  • Compact city? Lol. It's single family housing from two blocks from the centre of downtown onwards.

And they didn't mention anything about WINTER. As I right this, it's April 14, and it snowed yesterday and supposed to snow again tomorrow. Not to mention -40 windchills in February.

  • canada sucks

  • This really makes us look like a bunch of horse riding cowboys lol . But were not !

  • I live in Calgary. Been living here since 96 and I LOVE IT!!!

  • wow thats beautiful. im moving there this year in 3months when school ends. so basically when its summer were moving there. i cant wait. as of right now i live in san jose california, and it really is boring here, i cant wait to move to calgary canada!! =]

  • Calgary is pushing to become a more visited tourist centre. Backpackers from all over the world are finally catching on to the fact that Canada is an amazing backpacker experience! And Calgary is taking top honors in promoting this. I hope eventually we will get travellers just like in Europe!

  • Canadian Immigration Services:

    greatnorthimmigration. com

  • i love living in calgary. i hate toronto because everyone is mean, i hate edmonton because they make fun of us because "were not the capital" and well the rest of canada is awesome!

  • @randompaperclips meh toronto is pretty cool

  • Calgary is very nice city. I like winter, so this is perfect place to live in. the Rockies are close and the nature is wonderful :-)

  • I really think the Calgary should be the new capital of Alberta =P. Go Cowtown!! :)

  • i want to work in this country....

want are the requirements so that i can work here?

  • Meh, take it from a Calgarian. Calgary kind of sucks >.>

I've traveled to a quiet a few places, and everywhere I've traveled beat Calgary out of the water. The only really good thing I can see is that the mountains are only a couple hours away.

  • @CarlEldar uhh come up to Edmonton....then Calgary will look like a paradise! ;)

  • @CarlEldar

Calgary isn't much of a tourist city to be honest. It's not a play to enjoy everyday thrills, tourism, and shopping. It's a place to enjoy starting a family, living a solid financial life, building a career, and making enough money to visit many other places.

  • I def want to go my heart is there with my love , everyrthing I every want is right there

  • I am from Toronto but lived in Calgary for 3 years. This is what it boils down to: people are exactly the same no matter where you go. There are nice people, there are not so nice people. There are many things to do - if you have money. If you are poor in Calgary, it sucks - just like everywhere else. If you have lots of money, its great - just like everywhere else. Every city is becoming the same.

  • hahahahaha.............calgary sucks. No point in coming.

  • @avlacho you only say that because you are fro edmonton.... jealous much..

  • same I live in calgary it's boring, and you see no cowboys lol aside from stampede I think the downtown police have to wear cowboy hats, thats about it... (calgary is so boring you have calgarians seeing why the hell people would want to visit) lol

  • @XxWhoopaxX if you have friends here then its fun ( so you think its boring so you dont have friends)

  • i lived here and its better than you think!

  • I live in Calgary, and they are making it look like Calgarians are only about culture and cowboys, wtf. Calgarians could care less about that stuff.

  • id go mad cus of these cowboys things... lol

  • How about the cheaper joys of tourism? One of my favorite Calgary things to do is to go to Nose Hill Park for a good walk with panoramic views -- more natural than the Calgary Tower. Another good tip -- on a sunny day go to the homemade ice cream store (I think it is Lics) in Bowness area on Memorial Drive, and lick all your way two blocks to the river's edge, see the river, the joggers and cyclers...

  • Very informative, thanks for representing our city so positively!

  • i'm going there in july cant wait :D

  • @MDFSD It's not THAT exciting....I live there

  • Calgary is a great city.. WHEN ITS NOT SNOWING ALL THE TIME!!!!

  • haha ranchmans only if you want to go to the zoo and see pigs and hippos

  • what is the name of the hotel i cant get what his saying o_O

  • @thedropoutkid The Palliser Hotel

  • As someone who has lived in both Ottawa and (near) Toronto for many years, I can say that Calgary is unquestionably superior to those cities

  • this makes calgary seem so much better than it accually is, only showing the best things about the city

  • @drac0drak3

calgary is a great city, we may not have all the shine of the big cities

but at least we don't have much crime

  • Yeah, Calgary is very very very spread out, you can be on the edge of Calgary and downtown is miles away hehe.

  • i love calgary but did he say its a compact city? its one of the most spread out cities in canada maybe north america!

  • Calgary is soooo boring. i live there, it sucks

  • Never been here...

  • How Borring!

  • its a good place to visit but its expensive to live here just check a paper for one bedroom apartments and youll know what im taking about.

  • go flames go. love calgary can't wait to go back i live in Tdot now !!!!

  • I live in Calgary and I love it! Wouldn't live anywhere else =]

  • He said" Canadian Royal mounted Police", its Royal Canadian Mounted Police !!!!!

  • I hate how they made it seems like everyone in calgary is a cowboy, you only see that stuff in July ._.

  • errm actually there is alot of cowboys in Calgary but mostly just outside of it

  • @thatsclasssy when in july? i might go there...

  • seems like a nice place , how much does the beer cost.

  • this video was made to appeal to hicks. were very normal people. not some stupid cowboys. well, there ARE some, but they dont matter much :P

  • Do you live in Calgary ?

  • I live in Sacramento now, but lived in Calgary 2 years...miss it. quite a bit. I loved Stampede and of course go Flames!

  • I see a lot of folks around there using Britainisms like "mate" and "pint at the pub". Is there a strong British influence and/or community in Calgary?

  • Ill give you more reason not to come here, straight up.

  • im from CALlgary it sucks don't go there lol

  • Aahaha i live in calgary =P and the calgary zoo is also really amazing =]] there are so many animals, like hippos, and giraffes, lions and more its huge!!

  • Calgary is the best city i've ever lived in.

XD im kinda happy its not the capitole.

I think that would rune the amazingnesss!!!

  • This city sucks, rednecks and yuppies. Everything said in this vid is the opposite of what actually is.

  • lol true

  • Comment removed

  • really want to go now...been told it's like america but without the crime !!

  • @cherlewis2009 there is plenty of crime believe me I live here....ive had my car tires, slashed my house broken my cat was stabbed, the list is endless and ive only been here 2years

  • @317sunlaw I'm sorry you've had it so rough. I've been here 13 years and the worst that's happened is I think we had our bikes stolen one year... but that's eventually expected when you live in a bad part of town.

  • @cherlewis2009 theres nothing american about calgary

  • @cherlewis2009 lol without the crime ahah come to southeast n get taxed

  • @cherlewis2009 it's like america but without the americans ;-)

  • @tollan23 Canada's not like America, Canada is America.

  • @cherlewis2009

Well, you cant take your AK-47 or AR-15 with you, they wouldnt allow that. Oh yeah, and homosexuality is 100% legal lol.

  • @cherlewis2009 lmao

  • @cherlewis2009

no not really we have just as much crime as any other country would have... but you know calgary is a very nice city

  • Yeah! Calgary is great!

  • Calgary's a great city to live in.

  • WOOO I LOVE CALGARY I LIVE IN CALGARY

  • Ahh I love my city, GO CALARY :D <3 very nice vid :o

  • Wait a minute??!! What about the Hart family dungeon???

  • go calgary go

  • i was born in the middle east but grew up in calgary... i have since spent a year in china and currently reside in the states...

Calgary is the best city I have ever lived in. Its the perfect size, traffic is nothing compared to vancouver, and people are 100 times nicer then Toronto. You can have fun in calgary no matter what your idea of a good time is. Go to cowboys in a cowboy hat, or hit up tantra for some fine times.

  • lol i live in calgary and guess what its the best place to live.i came from iraq but i love calgary is the best my aunt lives in toronto and we've been there alot of times and its just plain dumb.vancouver is nice but calgary is better the stampede is awesome and owns but no hockey in the summer so yeah i love this city

  • i'm going to calgary!

  • how is calgary too small???? the city area is bigger than NYC and vancouver. calgary is too big not too small

  • Thanks for not mentioning the gong show that is Calgary traffic.

  • Hahaha, you're right there, mate. Omg, traffic is horrible.

  • You guys don't know what traffic is..

  • thats not traffic u should see a accident at rush hour

  • I live in calgary XD its awesome

  • me too :]

  • borrring

  • Calgary is great if you need a decent paying job...its very easy to find work here.

  • Calgary's an awesome city. Super clean, organized, and pretty. Good place to live but some of our tourist attractions are terrible. Downtown is absolutely dead on the weekends and there's nothin worth lookin at. The Stampede's our best attraction by far. I would reccomend that to tourists but not much else.

  • dude you write

  • Calgary is a fantastic place to live.

  • i live in calgary!!!!!!!

  • i live in calgary i simply love it!!!

  • i live in calgary, its so awesome, too bad its summer...... NO HOCKEY!!!

  • i love livin in calgary its so awesome

  • I used to live in Calgary. :S

  • I love to visit Calgary, but the toronto bashing makes the city unappealing.

  • I remember going there and a guy bragging about the fast pace of life. "fast paced", he said "Will take you an hour in traffic to get to work and get home." An hour in traffic, hmmmm - how in the name of Pete can anyone consider that fast paced. Life seems faster because you have very little for yourself. 1 month of life per year in a car - no thanks.

  • Calgary has taken advantage of being trendy as many in search of identity have moved there. But - in the end those who seek identity by where they live will never truly find wholeness. It is already apparent in that Calgarians bash other cities. Bashing is the ultimate form of insecurity.

  • very true

  • I love Calgary. I've been to several different cities and I mus say I wouldn't want to live any where else. I've never noticed an extreme amount of racism. If I think about it, there are alot of different race's but then again I don't really think about...

  • I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. It's the best.

  • i live in england im going to calgary and the plane leaves tomorrow morning im stayin in calgary for 4 days and then im goin into the rockys for the remainder of the 2 weeks.

  • lovely ...

  • calgary sucks

  • Are you kidding me? Calgary is the best city in Canada, hands down! I am stuck in frigging Toronto and it is the armpit of Canada

  • ah yes the famous, yet short Calgary Tower, where on a clear day you can see right into some guy's office across the street!

  • I find it funny iv lived in calgary my whole life and i have never seen hafe the stuff in this video lol. The calgary stampede was so good this year i can't wait for next years. You know i don't understand whats so great about the gelnbow museum but i do still wanna go. People should so come down to calgary its extremely cool

  • calgary is nice but it seems that canadians really treat there aboriginals like crap. people there really look down on them??

  • Any Greeks in Calgary??? were nice!!!!

  • Wow... I live in Calgary..... it's nicer than most cities and is beautiful in the summer.... but too much crime and snow!!

  • I've been living here for seven weeks and I'm loving it here! Very clean and beautiful and well planned out, lots to see and do in the area, excellent transit system. I'm from Winnipeg, so any climate that's better than that is fine by me. As far as cost of housing - if you want to live anywhere off of the prairies in Canada you're going to have to be willing to pay more.

  • Anyone that believes calgary is not diverse is high on crack. There are probably more asians and middle easterns then there are whites. Racism isn't a problem here.

  • Where did you get those statistics from? 1989? I find it funny how it doesnt mention chinese people or indians. And do not forget it was mostly white people who built North American cities so it comes to no surprise there are more caucasians than other races.

  • It was snowing in calgary on the weekend

  • Calgary is ruled by schmucks.

  • Adorei, muito bonito cidade, I love, very beautiful city

  • Calgary is the most amazing place on earth, warm summers, cold winters.. its simple.. if you cant handle a little snow then go get some balls and come back.. GET INTO THE SPIRIT..!

  • calgary kicks azz!!

  • calgary is like, always snowing ppl

  • Whats the matter you don't Ski?

  • makes all look like we are all cowboys and girls who love there cowboy boots and hats

  • i was so thinking the same thing!! hahaha

  • I happened to be wearing my cowboy hat when I watched that... damn regional stareotyping

  • Hi, I'm planning to move from El Salvador to Calgary, can any one tell me if this is it an expensive city? how much you have to pay for rent, and other usual expenses, I'm moving with my family, we are five, and I would appreciate any information

  • Calgary isn't cheap to live in. Though the oil boom has passed now prices seem to have not gone back down.

  • Rent is very high. Like ridiculously high. The tax is only 5%, the lowest in Canada, which is always good. Besides the cost of rent, Calgary is very reasonably priced. And the city is amazing, I have been to Toronto, Montreal, and even London, England, and by far this is the best city!

  • i'm french from québec and for 3 years i come in calgary every summer and go back to quebec and this year i stay and i'm happy for sure why have a lots of drug here and the downtown is full of crak head and people whitout place too live but that city is cleaner than québec and the weather is so nice only 2 feet of snow in winter and in mai the sun sleep at 9h30 pm s

  • calgary was made in 1975!?!?!?!

  • Calgary is great, no matter what anybody else says. Sure, the weather is a bit flimsy, one day its sunny then the next its snowing. But hey, we're really close to the rockies, which is a plus. We're clean, and we've got fantastic recreational areas. You should see how beautiful the city can be on a warm summers day. Of course, it does have its negative aspects also...I can't seem to think of any right now. Ive lived in edmonton for a bit, so trust me. Calgary is better.

O_O Wall of text wtf lol!

  • One negative is, like all cities, dog crap. Only, because of the chinooks we get all winter, you can smell it in the middle of winter!

  • I know, it is disgusting. I live in Ramsay, and I was praying for the first rainfall this spring, just to wash away the dog shit! People of Ramsay, pick up your dog's poo please!

  • i agree im from Halifax and Calgary is like a second home i love this place and im coming back soon i was staying in shelters and a room in a house and still loved it there

only down sides are the excessive gang shootings and the crack and meth but alot of alberta suffers from it

Calgary is the best city ive ever been to vancouver wasnt that special for me..its dirty looking where as calgary looks clean and the cluster of high rise buildings makes it look like a futuristic city..i love it

  • @911CID911 No offence to Calgary but it has nothing on Vancouver and it's much. much dirtier. If it's not the road salt in the winter it's the dust in the summer that makes everything ugly. Vancouver is gorgeous year round.

  • If you like long winters lasting til may and unwanted hobowatching then grab your change (your gonna need it) and hop on the saddle to Calgary! the city with two faces :D!

  • EVERYONE LISTEN UP! Calgary is a great place to live in. The schools are awsome. My school is crazy rich. Its beutiful there. And there are many things to do there. To me this is the greatest place to live.

  • really.. in my opinion moving to calgary was the worse thing ive ever done.. but that may be just cause i hate big stinky nasty citys...

  • they make it sound like were rednecks becuase all they show are cowboy boots and hats. no one wears that stuff unless its stampeed week

  • Ha ha! I know what you mean. I live in Calgary, and I don't even own a cowboy hat!

  • I love Calgary

  • the glass floor in the calgary tower is freaky

  • i love canada

  • god, this is an everyday thing for me i dont really see the beautiful in tmy home D:

  • trust me calgray isint a good place to live in ...... school is really harsh and weather makes u dipressed just like me . so if u wanted to move here i dont thing it would be a good idea cause its boring.

  • Calgary's a great place to live in, schools are decent to good dpeending on your community. Its a whole lot more peaceful then Toronto and anyways it's close to the mountains. There's a lot of good places to visit when you're in Alberta. I used to live in Toronto and now I live in Calgary and its a lot better than Toronto. But then again everyone has their own opinions and point of views.

  • yup calgary is so boring

  • Comment removed

  • Hi! are there any good jewelry stores in Calgary? m hoping to buy wedding rings there on our holiday...any suggestions? thanks loads.

  • Spence Jewelers is a local business that has really excelled. Never shopped there myself, but I've heard good things.

  • smart thing to do make it small cause in 50 years

  • ahh, the place where money grows on trees. xD

  • i live in calgary, and the weather is crazy!! one day its -20c and the next its +15!!

  • I'm from ottawa, been in calgary for 9 years (im 23 now). Calgarians are mostly rightwing, and city is predominatly caucasion. This combo is what probably gives us the racist redneck rep. In TO, i def notice how many black people there are, and here they may get stared at slightly more, b/c there are so few.I'm mostly white, and in India i got stared at tonnes! Discrimination isn't something minorites encounter everyday; it's a couple of uneducated farm kids at bars thinking they're tough shit.

  • I live near Toronto now, but i might to Calgary for University. However, im hesitant about it, because i dont know anybody there and some people say there is violence and racism there! so anyone has a different opinion? and which is better, Toronto or Calgary?

  • calgarys probably got alot less violence n all that. the universitys nice.

  • im from calgary and have been here all my life. theres racism in any place you go but i have almost never seen in here in calgary to be honest.. although i cant deny it probably exists. its not very violent here at all really.. and i think is a smaller population than TO. just make your decision based on the school.. not the city

  • i dont think there is that much racism in Calgary and i have lived there my whole life but it is hard to get into UFC

  • Looks great! I hear the trains are the way to travel across Canada

  • im from the uk,so is calgary a nice place to visit and live?im thinking of coming over in the summer

  • It's very nice. I live here, and there's so many great places to go. If you want to go to Calgary, you've got to go to the Calgary Tower.

  • angelcupul I currently live in calgary and have also lived near toronto. Calgary's temperature can spike real low but it can also be very mild, particularly during a chinook. I'v been wearing nothing but sweaters for the last few weeks.

  • It's a nice city... but EXPENSIVE.

  • Just don't live in the NE all the crime that happens in calgary happens in the NE. I live here and just 10 houses down there was a stabbing. Another 10 houses a gang unti responded to a drive by shooting. Another incident was adam kavanaugh was shot in his basement through window. Live in the south its pretty Nice. Calgarys crime rate is however dropping due to are numberous police units importing from the UK. It is a really nice city though xD Do come

  • I have lived my whole life in the NE, when I bought my first and will buy my next house in the NE. People that live in the other parts of Calgary look down on the NE mostly because we are the most ethinc part of the city. Really I think more crime happens all over the city (who wants to jack someones stuff that lives in the hood) LOL Realy the NE rocks close to everything and really nice people from all over the world. The best place to raise a kid to expose them so they do not become a racist.

  • more crime

  • I'd love to visit but I've heard its not known for its diversity, I've seen news reports that its pretty racist?
