Thanks for the post. I've seen this movie a few times before, but maybe it was just passing on tv or something. This time when I watched it, the end song really stuck out to me. Can't believe it wasn't a popular single at the time. It's great. Just wanted to stop by here and see if anyone else felt the same way.
@zzzombie888 It wasn't this one, but they did use a Howard Jones song in the movie ("Like To Get To Know You Well"). It's not on the soundtrack CD, though.
@SaltyFlats sorry the new camaro's dont compare at all to the 1st gen camaros at all. They sound gay as shit to, not that muscle car sound like they use to make
I was born in 91' I have absolutely no idea of what they 80's were nor do I care to waste my time trying to find out the signifigance of it.the music pretty much tells me what I missed somehow.
No BENCHIPED Things got stupid after the 80's and wanna be tough guys behind a gun felt thick and rugged. The animal wanna be gangsters have warped your mind. I'm just a 1990 HS Grad keeping it real.
Body doubles in this last shot of the movie. I always wondered if JC actually got in the pants of the semi hot chick who played this part. I guessing yes.
I'm an 80's kid and somehow missed this movie. i saw it for the first time last week. i had heard my friends mention the "2 dollars", but never watched the movie. i now love this film and happy to have finally discovered this 80's masterpiece.
@BENCHIPED - lol Everything got real before the 80s, too. The 80s were as real as any other time. The difference is, that was a brief era in which we were allowed to believe in ourselves, our society, and our future.
@nyyankees2020 I think everything sucks now - TV, radio, technology, culture, everyone is afraid and angry, blah! I wanna go back and live free again!!
Most people agree that John Hughes captured the teens spirit of the 80's, but most people never think about the slightly more imaginative voice of Savage Steve Holland's movies. This is definitely one of my favorites.

Charles De Mar: Oh! Ugh! Outrageous! This is pure snow! It's everywhere!
[raises right hand]
Charles De Mar: [shouts] I think I just froze the left half of my brain!
[waves arm in circles]
Charles De Mar: [shouts] Look! I can't move my right arm!
Lane Myer: This isn't funny, Charles! If I don't have a dream, I have nothing!
Charles De Mar: Ah, come on! It's Christmas Eve! I could be home right now, drinking this *monster* eggnog my brother makes with lighter fluid.

@nyyankees2020 It was the end of the innocents and make believe. Everything got real after the 80's. And doom and gloom took over.
