I wish they would have made a straight bio on Bobby. His life was just a lot more interesting than this film. But, I'm glad it reinvigorated interest in Bobby.

I guess there's just nothing like th real Bobby. This is proof that so many others are prentenders.

@mtippen You can't denie that Spacey did something wonderfull here, Bobby Darin alive fore 1,5 hour! Spacey is an actor who can not only act, but also he sings, dances, etc. The first time I saw him was in 7even, he's one of the great ones.

Thank you Kevin Spacey for bringing Bobby Darin to life to a new generation. Bobby lives. KS, I don't know if you ever check youtube, but if you do, please know there any many fans out there who love your movie.  I've got theBeyond the Sea DVD and watch it twice year. Each time I watch it, I am so thankful for Bobby Darin and to KS for bringing him to life. Bobby's music is awesome, what a voice, what a wonderful entertainer. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

I can't imagine why the critics didn't 'get' this film - they missed the point of it completely - entertainment using Bobby's life as the story. It was never intended to be a strict, linear re-telling of each moment of his life. It wasn't an expose - it was a celebration. The critics ruined it for so many people who would have enjoyed it and maybe started a renewed interest in BD. I know KS must have been terribly disappointed since he wanted it so badly.

Keven Spacey has an amazing voice....I'd love to see him tackle more singing roles. Of course we already knew he's among the world's finest actors. Even though he was too old to play Bobby Darrin when he made "Beyond the Sea", it's a wonderful film. Terrific job by everyone involved. Thanks for sharing this dynamite clip with us! :)

I understand that Kevin Spacey chased after this production for a long time. I really wonder what so inspired him to make such a wonderful tribute to such an amazing artist as Bobby Darin. Whatever it was, I have to seriously honor Mr. Spacey for his passion to do it.

I love Spacey bringing Bobby back to the current generations who never knew him and his music..though Kevin gave it the great college try, his own vocals don't cut it. On this tune, he sounded like "Porky Pig" trying to do Darin's jibberish..a task simply impossible by anyone but Darin himself. NOBODY else had the guts to throw in goofy non-lyrics, while trying to make a hit, except Bobby, and get away with it! He did this his whole career, like the oriental "ahh-so" deal he often did n Mack.
