Great song, horrible rendition... Sorry but it sounds like something you would hear in a dentists office along with the 40 year old pink dentist chair and old golf magazines.. Reminds me of when white artists tried to imitate and sing the old black songs.. lol
It's a pity, yeh... Mainly because nobody could sing this beautiful masterpiece as George. Not John nor Paul could embrace this level of hope and honest need -girls choir do the best here- with long phrases and feelings of an open prayer asking, begging, crying out for real love when his wife has left closing many doors, so the answer is in the hands of Lord Allmighty. Nobody could reach this fulfilment of harmonies and emotion in crescendo except Mr. George Harrison at the top of creativity.
your watching a mans family, friends do what they all love doing for a living for love for fun for there friend ,saying goodbye there way of showing how much they care for him you can see in the joy of there playing it gives me chills if you love someone tell them before there gone do it today all you have to say is i love you
By the Beatles own admissions George was the most spiritual,if you listen to the music they sound like prayres more than anything.I think in my opinion Mark,Jeff did the best rendition of that song outside of George I have ever heard, but your entitled to your opinion sir.R.I.P george
i am a die hard Jeff and ELO fan and i know jeff can sing better than this, but please forgive him,he was feeling really bad for losing his very close friend.
Hey Fairbeat along time ago there was this little band that remade a little song called 'Twist and Shout' soooo much better than the original. Can you name the band? I love Jeff Lynn and ELO. But stop the madness. That was bad. No George in that song. Heck listen to Billy Preston's version of My Sweet Lord... all I hear is George. No one should cover a tune unless it is as good or better than the original. If it is you Jeff, sorry!!!
I dont think anyone can ever really be as good when they try an original but I think anyone that gives their talent to make a tribute to someone is pretty special
What a sentimental thought, I think it was words between the tears. Please, put yourself in his shoes, ,,,,,,,,,,, oh, you can't, you're foot is in you're mouth

I'm not sure if I understand what you are trying to say but, instead of being polite, you choose rudeness. My point was that Jeff Lynne ruined - in my opinion...my opinion only - one of George's best ever songs. Most of the other performers at this concert did him proud and yes, like many others, I had tears in my eyes listening to Joe Brown's wonderful "I'll See You In My Dreams".
also, i love how eric clapton, the monty python cast, and tom petty performed in this concert. George harrison was infact the greatest musician in the world. Rest in peace
No words can do justice to the magic of George Harrison. The world is a poorer place since he died.
