  • Rest in peace G,u have only spread love here ....

  • Magnificent cover.

  • George's sound was so sweet, and this tribute was a wonderful idea. I wish I could have been there.

  • Keep Us Free From Birth!...wouldn't that be excellent to walk among us..

  • If you freeze at 3:03, you can see a faint image of George looking on in the mist.

  • One can most definitely feel the love his friends have for him.....ataahua waiata.

  • es el vocalista de ELO (electric light orquesta)

  • God blees you George we see you someday thanks for you music MEXICO LOVES YOU GEORGE!!!!!

  • God Bless George---I can never hear this song without the old heart cracking open....

  • I love George and his music, this Concert was so beatyfull... see you George somewhere sometime...

  • Slash did a nice job on this song!

  • Slash? From GnR? He wasn't in this video, was he?

  • no, matt saw someone with a hat, long hair and a guitar, and decided it was slash

  • Piękne...:)

  • i don't understand i've downloaded all the concert and i can't find this song on it !?

  • Buy it instead of downloading it, you cheapskate...then you get everything !

  • Bet there wasn't a dry eye in the house

  • Great song for a wonderful person who left too soon. Great musicians, but, um, Jeff Lynne looks more and more like a Muppet....

  • wow fine group of musicians on stage there. jimmy

  • Oh que buen video...y la canción fantástica...

    Es cierto...Paz en la Tierra...

    Saludos a todos...Amor y Paz.-

  • Paz y amor olim79...a ti, a todos en la Tierra, en el Universo.....Paz al final de 2008

  • Please take hold of my hand, that

    i might understand you

    Won't you please

    Oh won't you

    Give me love

    Give me love

    ...

  • i thing is the best in this concert.

  • beautiful song, but where is the drums?

  • Look at 3:08

  • I see, but it's so sweet...it should be just like the original one

  • but the bass is ok though..modified bass riffs in a concert is one better option to get the best harmony of all instruments

  • That a prayer can be so simple, yet so profound! Really shows George's depth of spirituality, authentic and intimate. Love it!

  • If the purpose of a song is to give you an out of body spiritual experience then this is the best song ever written.

  • George Harrison will be remembered as a Peace Legend. What a wonderful thing to be remembered for and of course his masterpieces of music

  • only George Harrison (R.I.P) can do it better

  • but this cover was pretty good you know

  • that intro for a seconed really sounded like a bob dylan tune

  • this song brings me the spirit

  • Dam...

i really like the bass on the studio version, this bassist disapoints me.

  • I don't think anyone could have done a better job of capturing the essence of the song than Jeff Lynne. Soft voice, excellent tone, and heart.

  • I agree - I get chills

  • Lynne can't sing like Bocelli but his musical resume is every bit as strong as Harrison's. Respect to both.

  • It's a pity, yeh... Mainly because nobody could sing this beautiful masterpiece as George. Not John nor Paul could embrace this level of hope and honest need -girls choir do the best here- with long phrases and feelings of an open prayer asking, begging, crying out for real love when his wife has left closing many doors, so the answer is in the hands of Lord Allmighty. Nobody could reach this fulfilment of harmonies and emotion in crescendo except Mr. George Harrison at the top of creativity.

  • yeah your just wrong this is an amazing song and jeff lynn sung it very well

  • Awesome.

  • your watching a mans family, friends do what they all love doing for a living for love for fun for there friend ,saying goodbye there way of showing how much they care for him you can see in the joy of there playing it gives me chills if you love someone tell them before there gone do it today all you have to say is i love you

  • Stunning vocal performance by Jeff Lynne!

  • very tuching

  • By the Beatles own admissions George was the most spiritual,if you listen to the music they sound like prayres more than anything.I think in my opinion Mark,Jeff did the best rendition of that song outside of George I have ever heard, but your entitled to your opinion sir.R.I.P george

  • ive watched this about 12 times. GODLY

  • Who's playing slide/lead guitar, it's cool that clapton is standing down and stickinng to acoustic guitar.

  • Marc Mann.

  • not up on him put he does a damn good job!

  • Namaste..

    Miss you George..

    RIP

  • i am a die hard Jeff and ELO fan and i know jeff can sing better than this, but please forgive him,he was feeling really bad for losing his very close friend.

  • he wasnt bad now tom petty he sounded like a total muppet

  • i like the way he sings this.

  • Hey Fairbeat along time ago there was this little band that remade a little song called 'Twist and Shout' soooo much better than the original. Can you name the band? I love Jeff Lynn and ELO. But stop the madness. That was bad. No George in that song. Heck listen to Billy Preston's version of My Sweet Lord... all I hear is George. No one should cover a tune unless it is as good or better than the original. If it is you Jeff, sorry!!!

  • If the cover is better than the original or not- that depends with each individual listener.

  • BUTCHERED ??!!! Are you out of your mind or just tone deaf ? He did George proud with this rendition !

  • I dont think anyone can ever really be as good when they try an original but I think anyone that gives their talent to make a tribute to someone is pretty special

  • What a sentimental thought, I think it was words between the tears. Please, put yourself in his shoes, ,,,,,,,,,,, oh, you can't, you're foot is in you're mouth

  • ataahua waiata....i'm speechless.....and all outa tissues! kia ora!

  • you suck

  • today tomorrow just hold on we miss you

  • better then the original.

  • Impressive interpretation of such a great song

  • Jeff Lynne did a wonderful job with this song.

  • Wonderful! Love this song! THanks for sending! Di:)

  • What a song..George we miss you

  • Jeff Lynne....what a superb and absolut talent...he gives George's a real tribute of a master musician...

  • Give me love, give me peace on earth....What beautiful words. Will this ever happen? Thank you George.

  • also, i love how eric clapton, the monty python cast, and tom petty performed in this concert. George harrison was infact the greatest musician in the world. Rest in peace

  • one of my favorite harrison songs. accually makes me cry after listening to it, but its still a great song. We miss you George. Rest in peace

  • No words can do justice to the magic of George Harrison. The world is a poorer place since he died. Jeff Lynne was a real influence on me and through him I found George Harrison. The DVD is awesome and well worth the money!! Enjoy the music and the many talented people he worked with! I miss the Wilbury's and alas they are probably not going to get together again,I think Harrisons son would be a welcome choice along with Jeff Healey!!

  • Unfortunately Jeff Healey passed away last month...

  • This is one of the greatest music DVD's of all time! Love you and Miss you George!

  • Give me love,

    give me love,

    give me "peace" on earth.

    Love you George :) RIP

  • AWESOME!!!!!!

  • Hello anyone on this post, can you tell me if I can purchase this DVD anywhere. I saw it on PBS one night, but wasn't able to purchase it for the price they wanted. Can it be purchased anywhere else...any help would be great.....Thanks

  • I sent you a message.

  • Hi AChickenBoo....Thanks so much for the info. I really appreciate it

  • ...I think by now you don,t have to depend on PBS and can find it in most music stores..its worth it anyway you slice it

  • Hi, Thanks for the imput...I do agree that it is worth it, unfortunately, I didn't have the $150 at the time to purchase it, but I have found it since through our local book store..Great DVD

  • if you love georage you have to pay for it mate , $50 or so

  • Well, normally I would agree with you, but I had to make a choice at the time....buy groceries for the week or pay $150 for a DVD.That's what PBS wanted..so I chose to buy groceries..haha...I do agree with you though..there certainly won't be another George Harrison..

  • try deep discount dvds sometimes they offer great deals

  • Although Jeff Lynne wasn't muscially working with George until The Traveling Wilburys in the 80s and earlier 90s, he's always been a friend to George... If George could say, he'd be glad.

  • Best performance ever. :o

  • love the tamberine player, can watch him all day, i remember him from Clapton's Unplugged. Great player.

  • ray cooper played with elton in the 70s

  • Who is the guy playing the slide guitar?

  • Dont Know his name but he's from Jeff Lynes Band("the New" ELO), Some of thee other members are from Clapton's Band(the singers, the bold guy who plays the guitar)

  • well i dont know which one you are referring to since there are two guys playing slide but the one with the glasses and the orange guitar is andy fairweather-low. the one with the hat is marc mann.

  • Thanks to both

  • His name is Marc Mann. As far as I know mostly known as studio musician.

  • Mark Mann with the beret...Andy Fairweather Low on the other slide....also w/ Clapton later as well...Keltner is the Crazy 1....Hope this Helps

  • Sorry about The Keltner thing....Cooper....

  • why did i not watch this concert?????? this is awsome>>>>>>what beutiful divine intervention PEACE ON EARTH PRAY FOR PEACE PEOPLE EVERYWHERE.........

  • Nice - lovely tribute - I love Jeff Lynne, and George! :) All of 'em actually. Everyone up there is great. :)

  • bellissima versione di questa canzone!grandissimi

  • Los mas Grandes de la musica ,Jeff,George,Eric

    y Los Beatles.

  • Gorgeous version of this song.

  • Jeff Lynne is awesome with this song.

  • If you love this check out "if I Need Someone" at my channel.

  • Jeff is fantastic here,ma favorite song is Mr.Blue Sky

  • who's the old guy with the glasses. He sang while my guitar gently weeps in this concert.

  • That's God (AKA...Eric Clapton)

  • That "Ole guy" is the reason you were born, hahaha! Patawan meet the master Eric Clapton

  • None liek George Harrison or Jeff Lynne. I think i'll break down completely when Jeff Lynne dies.

  • Its New Years Day, this is what we should sing at midnight, blessing all

  • Loose the hat, Jeff - its silly!

  • A future Christmas song to be!!! Give me love, give me hope, help me cope with this heavy load! So much emotions. Great performance by Jeff Lynn!!!!

  • So, Is that Mark Mann w/ the beret, and Andy Fairweather Low on the orange fender, and Albert lee w/ the white hair....on acoustic...

  • I'm not real sure thats a fender mr. Fairweather-Low is playing. very unique, 3 Humbuckers and no brick inlays instead of dot inlays on the fret board. very interesting.

  • Great song, performance! What a wonderful Bass Performance by Dave Bronze. Way to go Dave!!!

  • Bronze is great! Watch his flying fingers on 'Old Brown Shoe'!

  • Does anyone know who the two girl singers are? I thought that they back up Clapton.

  • Lynne's interpretation made me feel very touched...thanks

  • :´(

  • dramatic...)

  • which part of this video was ray overdramtic,if he came out doing the moonwalk and a bit of break dancing then yes maybe that would look a bit dramitic and look a bit stupid at his age. great performance by all of them.....age never comes into music....................)

  • every time I watch this concert, I always promise I'm not gonna cry, and I always do anyway. Don't know how all these awesome musicians managed not to totally break down, especeially with Dhani there, who is the spitting image of his wonderful dad. I'd say R.I.P George, but I imagine that wherever he is now he and John are still trying to make their world a better place.

  • Great song! I miss him from Spain. He is still a friendly face, a great Composer, a beautiful soul... Alguien cercano

  • you said it all in your post. God bless you and GH - mucho SOLID mi AMIGO

  • What a wonderful song! Oh my sweet George, how I love you!

  • We miss you, George!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The Whole thing makes me cry, its so sad. They said it was a celebration of George's life(which it is) and they said that they tried not to be sad, but I just can't help my self every time I watch it, it makes me cry.

  • Love, Peace, Life. Thanks for the emotionally stirring thoughts and music...

  • Oh Give Me Love.. George, so missed and what a tribute

to you.. RIP George.. Miss you so much :(

  • the whole concert has got to be one of the best ever live, every song just sounds like the original, esp, something by mccartney/clapton.and the finale i,ll see you in my dreams joe brown, brings tears to your eyes.its from nov 2002,three people who played in this concert have since passed away, billy preston piano, jim capaldi percussion, michael kamen lead orchester.brill concert.

  • very well done

  • What a lot of genius people on one stage! And Jeff does a graet job to remember a old friend! It makes me cry! Love Jeff!

  • The backing vocal lady on the left is the same lady that was in Roger Water's In The Flesh tour. Who is she? She's georgous, and sings beautifully.

  • katie kissoon, she is always backing clapton

  • Percussionist Ray Cooper looks like such a retard when he plays. And he's so overdramatic. For Pete's sake, Ray, you bang a tambourine for a living! Don't try to make it look so dramatic!

  • If you find Ray overdramatic here, then look at "My Sweet Lord" on that concert, he's really letting it all hang out there!

And I find nothing wrong with it. Yes he does it for a living but, certainly at his age, it's great if you can ignore what people might think and let yourself go and enjoy it so much. Keep it up Ray!

  • Cooper is THE percussionist for many all-star bands, as well as playing for Elton John, Eric Clapton, among others.

  • ...song full of peace...we love you George!

    God bless you!

  • ....moving voice of Jeff Lynne¡¡ really great.

  • makes me cry!!!

  • Not to knock but Jeff Lynne isn't the best singer. Out of key a little, no? Still this is a great vid and the concert is amazing. If anyone has any video of George Harrison's 1974 tour please put it up on youtube. PLEASE!

  • Ever heard ELO? He's such a great singer!

  • Mr.Blue Sky best song of Jeff and best song ever :)

    and he is fantastic here

  • I love this concert for George! So many talented people playing & singing...

  • i am really happy that they made the Concert For George, he really deserved it. George is such an amazing person and musician. This concert was really done well.

I LOVE GEORGE HARRISON! peace & love george

  • i totally agree with you

  • Ditto to you both. I am definitely planning to purchase this DVD. It's available at Amazon, if you're interested.

  • I bought mine at Fye

  • Two players are like angles, the base Guitarist and that Bald man "the drumer" both have played a wonderful part in nearly every song. They are truly extemists. i wish i know their names.....

  • the guy behind the congas is Ray Cooper, a great session percussionist, he always has a blast even if he is just playing tamborine on 2 and 4

  • cooper played percussion for clapton during his unplugged, not sure if he played with him more, or just for unplugged

  • what genius, Jeff Lynne surely did turn this 1 into a memorable gem 2 remember

  • Really special. :-)

  • dude on the tambourine is really rockin out. jeff lynne does a great job on vocals

  • great song and great performance

  • A nice version, Jeff sang well.

  • A lot Fender´s guitars and Jeff Lynne, Wow...the paradaise!!!

  • Excellent vocals.

  • awsome tribute !!!! Gave me chills !!!

  • To me, this is George's own version of "Give Peace of Chance" with a spiritual touch added.

  • this was written before "give peace a chance" so its more like "give peace a chance" is a twist on "give me love"

  • No, "Give Peace a Chance" was written in '69 and recorded in June of that year in a hotel in Montreal during John and Yoko's infamous "Bed In". "Give Me Love" was written 4 yars later and included on the "Living In the Material World" album.

  • Give me love is a beatle song in 1967

  • No it's not. You must be thinking of "All You Need Is Love" which was released on the album Magical Mystery Tour as well as a single in 1967.

  • your right i just checked i was thinking "all you need is love", good song anyway

  • love you george...

  • Peace brothers - Paz hermanos

  • all right, that does it.... now i gotta go buy this dvd.... (i dunno why i was holding off?? maybe cuz my mom has like four copies of it? :D )

  • Very touching, I love this song! We miss you and love you George!

    http://s9.invisionfree.com/groovymusicforum

  • Jeff really does a great job on this. And i really love this song, always been a favorite of mine. :-)

  • Simply great...simply Lynne...
