lol why are ppl so surprised the forsaken betrayed the horde, i mean if you made a undead character they say right in the begining cutscene, the alliance between them and the horde is merely of convience, they were never truly loyal to the horde, im not surprised to see them do this now, after all its the perfect time. everyone is so busy commiting forces against the scourge and getting killed. if one was to play their cards right it wouldnt be that hard
I just got the wrath of the lich king expansion like a week ago and ive had wow for a year or so and honestly I didn't know u could unlock cut scenes. Friken awesome!!!!
Personally, I find JRPGS to be nothing more then TOO MANY cut scenes... it's like a interactive movie, not a game. Skip that boring shit, and get to the game.
I don't remember the FF series to have too many cut scenes. Or Chronotrigger. Or KH series.... Infact, I can't think of any that have a lot of cutscenes... Except Fear Effect, but that's not an RPG >.>
Truth be told, there is no great difference between jprg stories and western rpgs. What does differ are merely exceptions to the rule. While the mechanics are different, as is style and setting, you will find that the storylines have the same content.
To help out all you people that are a little confused why this happened:
The dude that threw poison on everyone is someone the Lich King made into a banshee (the form you see). She used to be apart of the high elves or something like that. She however harnished the power the lich king gave her and broke away from his rule. She recruited some other peeps also. She then recruited some people amongst outland and other places.
They then became the undead - who live in the undercity. They're only apart of the horde for ''Convenience.'' They do not care for any member of the horde and tell other horde factions that they hate the scourge - the only thing they beoth have in common (the undead + horde) But the horde secretely know everything they're up to....but not this time. Quite suprised the lich king got like semi owned in this cut scene, he came across a little more powerful...i guess not!
This isn't 100 percent correct. Sylvannas (the one that was turned into the banshee), is the head of the forsaken. She did not know about the poison attack, which attacked the horde and alliance alike. The guy who did this was Putress who allied with Varimathras to take over the forsaken, and started a coup of sorts. After this cut scene you, Thrall and Sylvannas go and kill this guy (if you're alliance, varimathras if horde). Putress isn't a banshee, just a wacky apothecary undead.
@unarmedcivilian I never forget this chain quest that leads to the cut scene, when it was over I was walking through the carnage and let me tell you when you witness the whole thing for the first time it kinda freaks you out for a while. lol, one of my guildies even said they would have to put me through therapy to get over that whole incident. lol. They even had NPCs running around so frantically that they were leaping off cliffs. o.o
Sylvanas Windrunner. She was once was a highelf that tried to defend the entrance of dalaran. In 'Frozen Throne" Arthas turns her into a banshee cause she got on his nerves.
When the lich king was dying and loosing power some minions of the scourge including Sylvanas Windrunner broke free from Arthas's chain. She than later lead the group of undead called "The Forsaken" and killed 2 main DreadLord's except for Varmanthras which he pledged allegiance to the Forsaken.
They have their own agenda anyway!!! honestly I must say there should be an expansion or side game that focus on them spefically. Or... like you said... they should have their own side in this. But then again i think part of what makes Warcraft what it is, is that there are no real bad guys in it... based on the major goal. By giving the forsaken their own side that would remove that from the game. The alliance and horde would work together and destroy them... then go right back to fueding. =(
not really, grand apothecary Putress and Varimathras betrayes Sylvanas and the horde. Varimathras was a part of the burning legion before and wanted revenge for his brothers and i guess he didn't like being with Sylvanas. I don't know what Putress has to do with it. Anyway you get a quest to go to Thrall which gives you quest to invade UC to take it back, which is truly epic and good rewards, you can choose between 6 different legs :O and you get like 40 k xp
The Dark Lady, Sylvanas Windrunner is a undead female High Elf and leader of the Forsaken. And she had nothing to do with the betrayal by The Royal Apothecary Society. lady Sylvanas would be that dumb to turn against the Alliance and horde without being certain she could wipe them all out.
Arthas is so Badass

Goddamn, you people should play the game first before watching these cutscenes or else you'll be asking "Y d1d d3 F0rsak3n B3t4y d3 Whordes!!!!?"
SO PLAY THE FUCKING GAME PEOPLE!
btw, Sylvanas is a girl and didn't have her face raped to oblivion like Putress, so she doesn't have to wear a veil.

Not realy. Lich King (Arthas) betrayed Sylvanas first. But Sylvanas didnt die and now his back to make his revenge and his own "world domination"!
Great video by the way. There should be more like these in WoW.
Happy Christmas to everyone!
