Salon info: Noire Design Concepts in Silver Spring. She's very knowledgeable about locks and natural hair in general, so I highly recommend her!! .. And I always think it's better to just go natural with baby locks and allow them to go through their phases, it's all a part of the beauty of the journey!
Absolutely Gorgeous!!! I don't think I've ever mentioned this to you, but your videos on ACV rinses prevented me from cutting my locs COMPLETELY off during a bad bout of lint. Your locs are beautiful and more importantly, healthy. Thank you for sharing your wonderful journey!

I finally watched this video and I loved it so much.You are beautiful Nat and your personality is awesome.The photos were so colorful.I know all locs aren't the same,sometimes I feel like mine are not the way they should be.I don't have perfect parts in my head.I had two strand twists extensions in my head and as my new growth came in I started twisting them and kept them in until they eventually came out,so I officially loc'd my hair in April 2011.Thanks again for your inspirations.

You and your hair is BEAUTIFUL. I have to ask - How often do you wash and twist your locs? I know everyone is different but just wondering if 2 to 3 weeks is too much.

Regarding weight loss, just the basics. Seriously cut down on my portion sizes and got a personal trainer for a year! Thanks for noticing ;-)

Lovely. I can tell from each picture and the bliss in your voice, that you have truly enjoyed the loc lifestyle. I've been locked 10 years and tend to cut mine at least once a month and keep them shoulder length, but you have me rethinking that and maybe just letting it grow and see what feats it can accomplish : )

your locs are healthy and strong! BEAUTIFUL! I am starting my locs and it did inspire me. I am doing the two strand method just as you did, and I am att my two month mark or will be on Jan12. How often did you wash and retwist during your first 3 to 6 months of transitioning from twist to locs?
@naturalbeauty1218 - Many thanks!! What an exciting time for you. Your question is a difficult one to answer because it completely depends on your texture. My loctician was cleansing my scalp with Sea Breeze, then retwisting for the first 3mths and then I went e/o week for a wash and retwist. Basically once they're stable enough and not unraveling, you can wash as often as you like!

oh my gosh!! smh, im in amazement of u kept up with keeping your hair so healthy and strong. im 10 months in and my hair is super frizzy, i get discouraged a bit, but im happy there are ppl like you who document and give me encouragement.

@TheAweet - Girl, as you could see, mine were super fuzzy at that phase too. Gotta love that teenage rebellious stage they go through lol.
I'm so thrilled you got encouragement from this vid; that was the point!! Please don't get discouraged, there's beauty on the other side I promise!!! And why not start taking some progress photos to help encourage yourself on the days you're ready to give up, ok!

Your hair is always so neat!!! How often do you re-twist, and what products do you use?

@thewallaces2006 - Thanks so much! I typically wash my hair every 2wks in the warmer months and every 3wks in the cooler months, but I retwist the front row whenever necessary which gives it the appearance of being freshly twisted all the time.
I've made several vids with my regimen and the products I use, so feel free to check them out.

your locs are healthy and strong! BEAUTIFUL! I am starting my locs and it did inspire me. I am doing the two strand method just as you did, and I am att my two month mark or will be on Jan12. How often did you wash and retwist during your first 3 to 6 months of transitioning from twist to locs?

@naturalbeauty1218 - Many thanks!! What an exciting time for you. Your question is a difficult one to answer because it completely depends on your texture. My loctician was cleansing my scalp with Sea Breeze, then retwisting for the first 3mths and then I went e/o week for a wash and retwist. Basically once they're stable enough and not unraveling, you can wash as often as you like!
